Good Morning! I’m up ‘n at em with my normal Sunday routine (you know, when I don’t have to leave the house and can just RELAX on a Sunday morning!). Jay is off to his flag football game, but I decided to pass today – I love to watch him play, but I love my fingers & toes more! It’s only 40 degrees outside right now…no thanks!
I was in the mood for a warm breakfast, so OATS it was!
In today’s mix:
-1/3 cup old fashioned oats
-1/3 cup light vanilla soy milk
-1 small sliced banana
-1 tbsp ground flaxseed
-1/2 tsp vanilla
-1/3 cup frozen blueberries
For the first time today, I actually decided to add the famous scoop of peanut butter to my oats! Believe it or not, I’ve never tried it…and I just may be hooked now! :0 Especially with this stuff!
This stuff is SOOOOOO GOOD! The Saratoga Peanut Butter Company makes a variety of different flavors that are all equally delicious. I currently also have a jar of their Plain Jane Chunky PB in my pantry too. Lucky for me, they sell their products at a local Farmers Market that is right down the road from me here in Troy. It’s always nice to go down on a Saturday morning and pick up some fresh, local products. I can’t WAIT until it heads back outside on May 1st!
I rounded out breakfast with a good ‘ol cuppa joe with soy milk & 1 splenda (I’m getting there!)
So my typical routine for a Sunday morning starts by getting our morning newspaper and skimming through the adds until I can find ALL of the coupons! I am SUCH.A.NERD, but I get super giddy when it comes to coupons, sales, and savings when I’m grocery shopping (thanks to my Dad!;) ) There have been days that I’ve gotten such good deals, I will call him, or Jay, or my mom up just to share my excitement! (Yup, I wasn’t kidding when I said super giddy!) I like to lay out all my coupons (or as I like to call them, “coops” – flows easier off the tongue when I’m all excited), look through the fliers for the different grocery stores in our area, and see where I can get the best “bang for my buck”.
Hopefully I find some good deals today!
The rest of my Sunday consists of some grocery shopping, prepping for the work week, a treadmill workout (probably keeping it low key – I’m SUPER sore today for some reason??), and softball practice this afternoon. Yes, softball practice…in 40 degree weather…for the girl with Raynaud’s disease! I’m secretly kind of hoping for some rain this afternoon so we can postpone! Keep your fingers crossed for me (and my fingers!)
Does anyone else get really excited over savings and coupons??
