A Trip to the Farmers Market

by Courtney on April 24, 2010

Happy Saturday! :)  My Saturday started out with a kick-butt interval run on the treadmill.  I wanted to switch it up from the intervals I’ve been doing, but get too bored just running at a steady pace.  So here was my workout today:

This kicked my butt!  Even though the intervals were short, they were intense!  I was a sweaty mess afterward, but it was good. :)

After showering, I made myself a delicious Green Monster! :-D

It was my normal recipe, so check it out if you’re interested! ;)

I didn’t want to eat too much, because I knew I’d be doing some nibbling at the Farmers Market! ;)

Here’s a little recap of some of the delicious goods!

Homemade Marshmallows (I tried the French Vanilla…YUM!)

Homemade Jellies/Jams/Preserves (I was hoping they’d have their sugar-free apricot, but they were out! :( )

CHEESE! (I tried the Havarti…DELISH! :-P )

Now this is what I’M talkin’ about!  I ended up with something from here! ;)

Tons of fresh baked breads

Some WINE! :-D  I ended up trying one that I REALLY liked…I plan on picking up a bottle next week.

Saratoga Peanut Butter Company!!  I had to pick up our winner’s goodies! :-D

It was such a BEAUTIFUL day to head down and stroll around.  I can’t WAIT until next week when it moves outside.  It’s SOO much better then, and there’s such a variety of great vendors!  To make my trip even better today, my friend Kathryn had mentioned that she wanted to check it out, so she headed down to meet me!  We had a great time, and we both ended up with some loot. ;)

After hitting up the market, I had to make a pit stop for some of my favorite coffee from Flavour Cafe!  Today’s flavor: Sugar Cookie.  Mmmmm :-P

As soon as I got home, I unloaded the goods from my fancy reusable Farmers Market bag. ;)

Today I ended up buying a loaf of multi-grain bread, 3 crispin apples, some basil pesto, and a NEW peanut butter!

Both of the giveaway winners chose the New York Maple flavor, so I figured, why not join them? It’s DELISH! :)

I’m really psyched to use the pesto this week too…I’m thinking maybe a pasta dish with some veggies and chicken?

It has the perfect amount of basil flavor, and it’s not super oily, which I’ve found some pesto can be.

I also ended up getting this delicious oatmeal raisin cookie for Jay and I to share.

What can I say, I have a bold sweet tooth!  I just can’t resist :)

After unloading everything, I headed back out to run a couple errands that I had to take care of.  One of which was to finally get my rings cleaned…they had been lookin’ a little dingy!

MUCH better now! :-D  I also stopped and grabbed some lunch quick while I was out.  I wasn’t super hungry but needed something in me, so I got this delicious 1/2 sandwich.

Whole wheat bread, with roast turkey, roasted red peppers, tomatoes, fresh sliced mozzarella (I swear, it’s under there), along with balsamic & a basil pesto spread.  It was YUMM-O! :-D

Now I’m headed out to enjoy the beautiful weather and hopefully finish up my book that I’ve been working on for weeks now!  Tonight is “date night” for Jay and I, so I’m super excited for that, even though we haven’t decided where we want to go yet! :)
