Last night before bed, I was so psyched to try out my new running sneaks, that I laid everything out that I would need, so getting up would be a little easier. Well, I think if it wasn’t for those new shoes, there’s no WAY I was getting up! I pretty much bolted rolled out of bed, (after hitting the “snooze” button 5 times) somehow got all my clothes on the right way, and made it down to the treadmill. Once I started it up, I realized I really didn’t know what I was in the mood to do, so I found this workout amongst some others and decided to give it a try.
It didn’t bring me as far as my usual 30 mins on the treadmill, but it was a good change of pace, and I ended up covering just a little over 2.75 miles. I liked this workout! I’m not sure where it came from (probably either Shape or Self magazine, since I read both) :) And the new shoes worked great! I like to give them a few trials before I really know for sure, but so far, so good!
Cody decided he had to get a little workout in this morning too…
I was really craving OATS this morning, and I knew exactly the creation to make: Apple Cinnamon Raisin Oats!
Apple Cinnamon Raisin Oatmeal
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1/2 cup light vanilla soy milk
- splash water
- 1/2 mashed ripe banana
- 2 tbsp raisins (golden & regular)
- Cinnamon (lots of it!)
This batch turned out REALLY good! I loved the apple/cinnamon/raisin combo :) I topped off my oats with some of this new granola I bought yesterday.
Granola is always a little on the calorie-dense side, so you have to be mindful of portion control.
I used about 3-4 tbsp of granola this morning. I love the combo of crunchy toppings on creamy oats! YUMM!
I was on top of my game last night, and made sure to pack my lunch ahead of time. Here it is, all ready to go in my snazzy (but dirty and well-used) Vera Bradley lunch bag.
For lunch today, I packed my one leftover piece of grilled pizza from Friday! This stuff was so delicious, I can’t wait to make it again. (Jay’s already asked for it at least 3 times).
I also have with me some carrots and celery with hummus, and a light ‘n fit vanilla yogurt with strawberries.
I’m not sure when I’ll eat what today, but I’ll be sure to give ya’ll a recap later tonight! ;) Time to grab my mug-o-joe, then I’m off! Have a great day everyone!
