Jam Packed

by Courtney on May 15, 2010

My Saturday morning was jam packed!  I love when I’m up and movin’ and get lots done before noon…it makes me feel like I get so much more out of my weekend, ya know?  Well, I was too busy trying to figure out an email issue, that I didn’t give myself enough time to make a good breakfast (GRRR).  So on my way out the door, I grabbed one of my Apple Cinnamon Raisin Bran Muffins & a banana.  I may have also had a peanut butter finger ;)

Our first stop was to pick up some hair supplies for Mom.  My mom is a hairdresser, so she gets her supplies from a discount store.  Lucky for me, that means I also get to stock up on my goods, for a lot cheaper than I’d pay at a department store! :-D

I picked up a shampoo and conditioner, along with some leave-in conditioner and a new nail polish.  I like to switch my shampoos back and forth, just so my hair doesn’t get to used to one brand, so this rotation was Redken, which I love.  I was super psyched to finally get a new nail polish color too!

I will never pay full price for these O.P.I polishes- in regular stores, they’re usually $8-9!  But I got mine for $4.25 :-D  O.P.I. is my favorite brand for nail polish!  I found it stays a lot longer than most other brands I’ve tried.

After picking up the goods, it was over to Mom & Dad’s for the drop off and for Jay to get a haircut (perks of a family hairdresser!)  While I was there, I snacked a little on one of her cinnamon chip scones, which reminded me just how delicious they are and now I’m going to have to make them for here so you guys can see ‘em. ;)

Our next trip was to go and pick up my wedding dress from the dry cleaners.  I had dropped it off last month to get cleaned (hopefully the red wine that was spilled on me came out!) and preserved.  I was so excited to see it again…until I saw the woman come out with this:

WHAT THE HECK?!?  I can’t even see if it’s in there!  How do I know if it’s even mine?!?  I wanted to rip it open and look, but then I remember someone telling me before that once you open the box, the “preservation” is ruined.  Has anyone else experienced this problem before??  I don’t know what to do! GRRR! :-?

Next on the agenda today was a good workout.  I hadn’t gotten much cardio in in the past 2 days, so that was what I was craving.  I ended up doing 45 minutes of intervals, running 2 mins @ 6.7-7.0mph, alternated with 1 min walking @ 4.5mph.  It was a great workout and I ended up covering a little over 4.25 miles :) WHEW!

After getting my sweaty-self “so fresh & so clean” it was time for some FOOD and I knew exactly what I wanted…a nice cold SMOOTHIE!  I used my usual Strawberry-Banana Smoothie recipe, and things got CrAzY in the blender today ;)

I paired my smoothie with some of last night’s leftovers…Mmmmmm! :-P  Look at all that I still have left! YIKES!

I heated up 1/2 of one of my wedges (no, not wedgies ;) ) in the micro for a minute…

and then took it all outside for a beautiful “al fresco” lunch 8-)

While I relaxed with my feet up, enjoying my goods, somebody was back at it again with the dandelions!!

I HATE DANDELIONS!!

And somebody else kept me company from afar :)

HI MOM!

I am totally loving this weather today, so I’m going to enjoy it for as long as I can out on my patio while catching up with the pile of magazines I have waiting to be read! 8-)

Have a GREAT Saturday!!

You created a monster I was on forever 21’s website looking for those shirts all day yesterday.
I’m a hairstylist too, isn’t it great getting the discount? if u get a chance try the Pureology line. Love it!!! I’ve gotten into the all natural, sulfate free stuff.

Your smoothies look ridiculously good. Do you have a commercial blender?

Thanks! No, I actually have the Oster Fusion, which is a blender and food processor in one :)
