Las Vegas has been such a BLAST! What a great place to be with all of your closest friends!
Yesterday, Jay and I took a little walk up the street to Planet Hollywood to check out a spot for lunch that had been recommended to me by numerous people: Earl of Sandwich.
When we first arrived, I didn’t think it looked like anything too crazy or exciting, but as soon as I took a look at the menu, I had a feeling we were going to be in for a treat.
Since I couldn’t decide (SURPRISE!) we ordered 2 sandwiches and split them. I love how the hubby is always up for that. :)
The All American – Roasted Turkey, Buttermilk Ranch, Cranberries, Sharp Cheddar Cheese, Lettuce & Tomato
And the Hawaiian BBQ – Grilled Chicken, Roasted Ham, Hawaiian Bbq Sauce, Aged Swiss Cheese & Fresh Pineapple
All I can say is THANK YOU to everyone who recommended this place! These were seriously some of the BEST sandwiches I have ever had. Their artisan bread was almost like a thick english muffin – slightly crunchy on the outside, yet soft and chewy on the inside. And the combinations of flavors in each of these? Oh forget it…I was in HEAVEN! :-D
After a short nap, and a little prepping, it was eventually time for the main event of the week: The Bachelorette Party!!!
We started the night out with a late dinner over in the Luxor hotel at T & T Tacos Tequila.
And of course we got the party started with some $5 margaritas. ;)
While we were at the restaurant, a local radio station was streaming live from the bar area and putting on some contests. When we heard that $25 gift cards were up for grabs, we jumped all over that.
The contest? Chicken fighting! The object of the game was to try to stomp on the opposing teams balloons first. Luckily for us, whoever won still benefited all of us since we were putting it towards our whole bill. We ended up winning $100 in gift cards to put towards our whole bill! How sweet is that?!? :-D
WARNING: Chicken fighting is dangerous. I, unfortunately, let my competitive side get the best of me and really hurt my foot while trying to stomp on balloons. The balloon completely slipped out from underneath my “chicken foot,” causing my heel to slam full force into the cement floor. It’s extremely sore right now, and I am unable to walk flat footed on it. I’m hoping it’s nothing serious, so I guess we’ll have to wait and see what happens. Ughhh…
Ok, now that my Debbie Downer moment is finished…
After getting our chicken fighting fix in, it was time to have some dinner. The table was given copious amounts of delicious tortilla chips, which I ate equally copious amounts of. ;)
I decided to choose an item off of the “small plates” m
enu, since I didn’t want to overstuff myself with anything with a long night ahead of us. I ordered the Chicken Tostadas, which were shredded chicken in a tomato sauce of sorts, with pico de gallo, crema fresca, Cotija cheese, and black beans.
To be quite honest, I was a little surprised when I saw my plate “full” with three topped tortilla chips. But surprisingly enough, they were just enough to fill me up. I’m sure the extra tortilla chips and bites of my friend Eileen’s chicken nachos helped too. ;) But even still, the tostadas were phenomenal! All of the flavors came together so well and were perfectly complementary with each other. YUMM!
After dinner, we headed back to the hotel so people could change into comfy shoes (not me though, since I can’t walk in flats right now…), and then it was back out on the town!
The College Crew – LOVE these ladies!! :-D
So far, today has been a pretty low key day by the pool, seeing as though we didn’t really get to sleep until about 6am. But it was definitely a blasty of a night! Now we’ll just have to see where tonight takes us…and how I’m going to get there with this foot!
Hope everyone is having a great day!!

Looks like such a fun night! I love that you all wore bright colors :) Sorry to hear about your foot though!! It sounds like you just bruised your heelbone, which I’ve done before and it HURTS but it’s nothing serious. Hopefully it feels better soon!

I’m loving all your bright colored dresses — what a group.
Great tan too ;)

Ouch! It’s probably just a bone bruise- if you stay off it and wear comfortable shoes as much as possible it should go away.
Please tell me you girls planned to all wear bright colors! I’d definitely see the group of you walking down the streets! :)

I saw this link under one of your latest posts – I too went to Vegas and injured my foot! I sprained my ankle doing something as simple as crossing the street – too funny! :)
