Wow, where did my Sunday go??? Seriously!
It’s now 8:45, and it’s the first I’ve been home since about 10:30 this morning. Sheesh.
I started my Sunday off on the right foot by getting my bootayy to the gym for a good sweat sesh, which looked a little somethin’ like this:
- 30 minutes total body strength training
- 30 minutes elliptical (interval course)
- 10 minutes StairMaster (fat burning course)
It was a great workout, and definitely helped work up my appetite for a special breakfast date. :)
Jay and I headed down to one of our favorite spots, Spillin’ the Beans, for a special “just because” treat.
They’re usually pretty busy on a Sunday, but we must have gotten there just at the right time, because we were able to squeeze into a little table in the back corner of the room. Score! :-D
I immediately ordered myself a nice large coffee, with one pump of Maple Spice syrup (I wanted pumpkin spice, but they were OUT! Oh the horror…)
It may not have been pumpkin, but it definitely still provided that same “fall spiced” flavor that I love so much. Mmmmm.
While waiting for our food, Jay and I perused through the Sunday paper and clipped some coupons. It passed the time perfectly!
For my breakfast, I decided on the “Create Your Own” omelet, made with egg substitute and filled with spinach, onions, and tomatoes. I opted for no cheese, since I’m rather picky when it comes to cheese in my eggs. I only like a tiny bit, and I decided I’d be better off just nixing it, rather than being disappointed by it overtaking the eggs.
My omelet also came with a choice of toast, so I ordered the wheat…and let me tell you…some of the best wheat bread I’ve EVER had. Sooo good!
I’d say it was definitely the perfect post-workout meal. :)
After breakfast, Jay and I took care of some grocery shopping, then spent the afternoon at my parent’s house for a little Sunday Football. It wasn’t the normal spread today like it has been the past couple weeks, but it was still a great time.
Now I’m sitting down, watching my Jets, and snacking on a toasted Thomas’s bagel thin with some chunky peanut butter.
I can’t believe it’s time to go back to work already…this weekend absolutely FLEW by!!
Let’s Go Jets! :-D
Question for the Night:
Do you ever get the “Sunday Blues” before heading back to work on Monday?
Faith says
Maple spice sounds so much better than pumpkin spice, to be honest! I’ve got the Sunday blues so bad right now…hard to believe tomorrow’s back to the old grind!

Ohhh yes… the weekend went by WAY too fast!

I am the same way with eggs! I can really only handle a tiny little bit of cheese, so I usually opt for cheese-less eggs at restaurants.
I definitely get the Sunday blues! Don’t we all?! Luckily I took the day off tomorrow. :)

I went to college around there and used to LOVE going to spillin’ the beans! It’s one of my favorite breakfast places in the area. I’m so jealous!
Christina @ Food.Fun.Fabulous says
I get the Saturday blues because I always use Sunday as homework day : /

I’m the opp. I would cry if there were no cheese in my eggs.
ah! No more pumpkin spice!! Not surprised though. I wonder why they only make it seasonal!
Sara says
I always get the Sunday blues and they carry over to Monday morning when I don’t want to get out of bed. And, since I couldn’t miss a minute of the Jets game last night, today is even worse. The things we do for our team!
Courtney says
Isn’t that the truth!! GO JETS! :-D

I feel the same way about omelets and cheese..I always just ask for em without cheese.
