Why do I not do yoga more often??? It’s such a great way to start off your day!
While it took me two rounds of hitting the snooze button to actually get out of bed, I knew I’d feel a lot better if I just got up and DID IT. So I rolled myself out of bed and into some yoga clothes, grabbed my mat and my remote control and got to work.
This morning’s yoga workout of choice came from Jillian Michael’s Yoga Meltdown video from Exercise on Demand. I know I’ve said it before, but I really enjoy this video. The way that she combines the yoga power poses with her typical training techniques really gets your heart pumpin’ and works up a sweat! I’m thinking I may actually invest in her video because I want to see what the Level 2 would be like.
Breakfast
I’ve been ready for today’s breakfast ever since I put it together last night.
Looooove me some Overnight Oats!!
In the mix:
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1/2 cup vanilla almond milk
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 mashed banana
- 1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 1/2 diced pear
- dried cranberries
- cinnamon
- dollop of almond butter
Apparently, I was all about the “1/2’s” last night?
Either way, I’m glad I was because this was one awesome bowl. I’ll bet the addition of the protein powder has something to do with it, but it’s so thick and creamy! It almost reminds me of the chilled Swiss oatmeal I had while in Chicago last month. Mmmmmm.
Along with my oats, I have a delicious mug of Almond Amaretto coffee to take with me, BUT I apparently brewed a little too much, so I got to enjoy an extra 1/2 a mug before leaving the house.
We’re officially OUT of this kind now…looks like a stop at The Fresh Market is on the horizon!
It’s gonna be a rainy one today in New York…better make sure I don’t forget my umbrella! (I’m kinda known for doing that…)
Question for the Morning:
What’s your favorite way to spend a rainy day?

Overnight oats truly are the best–a great way to start the day!
Have a fabulous Monday!
you should definitely try adding some chia seeds to the overnight oats. it makes them amazing and gives you omega-3s
I agree about yoga, I always leave feeling relaxed and energized.
I love watching movies on rainy days
I like that “yoga” video as well! Its great when you want a little workout, but not anything too intense.
My favorite way to spend a rainy day is reading and napping. Which is exactly what I did yesterday and am wishing I could still do today!
I love spending rainy days inside on the couch with a book, a movie, or some blogs of course.
A cup of coffee is a must as well. It’s kind of what I’m doing right now. Yay! Although I do have to brave the rain to hit up the grocery store in a few which is not so good.
it’s so rainy here too. i wish i could have stayed in and watched trash tv with my coffee!
I love reading on rainy days:)
Hot drinks are a must on rainy days for me… and baking

Everyone is having a rainy Monday! I am stuck in school, so yeah…
Reading, Movies, and Baking!
Sounds PERFECT!
Yum! Your overnight oats look awesome! Have a great day.
Mug twins! I have the Sbux and the Anthropologie mug (‘cept mine is in “A”). My favorite way to spend a rainy day is to stay in bed! Whether it’s napping with my cat, reading, or watching trashy TV. Loves it. I always have an urge to call off work if it’s raining when I wake up, but somehow I suppress it!
I love doing yoga on a rainy day! And watching movies on Netflix.
I’m jealous that you have a Fresh Market near by- I need to go to one ASAP to stock up on Carba Nada
Rainy days call for a good book and hot chocolate
Overnight oats question! Do you ever heat them up, or do you just eat them cold, right out of the fridge?
Nice and cold, right outta the fridge!!
