I don’t know what you were doing at 2:00 this afternoon, but I know what I was doing…
I was drinkin’ champagne with my besties! Now let me clarify a few things here first…
- Yes, we are sitting in a car, but NO we were not driving. This is what happens when you all live far away and meet up for lunch in the middle…you party in the parking lot.
- Yes, we love to have a good time, but we don’t typically party on a Thursday afternoon in a random parking lot with champagne.
- We had a reason to CELEBRATE today…
Rachel got engaged!! ![]()
Rach called me over the weekend to tell me the exciting news and I couldn’t be more happy for her and her man, Steve.
Congratulations you two love birds!!! CHEERS! ![]()
Since I mentioned that we were in a parking lot it’s because we were also meeting up for lunch. We had a great time catching up and talking “wedding planning” – between the five of us, we’ve not got three down…two to go!
While we chatted away, I enjoyed a simple grilled chicken salad.
The salad was really just ok. Its one saving grace was that the chicken was freshly grilled and had pretty good flavor. The rest of the salad was just sorta “meh.”
I honestly didn’t even pay all that much attention to today’s lunch. I was too wrapped up in wedding planning and thinking about dessert…
After lunch, we headed up the road to Martha’s Dandee Crème for some soft serve. Martha’s is probably my all-time favorite soft serve place, but since it’s almost an hour drive from where I live, it’s not exactly a regular pit stop. This is probably definitely a good thing.
The weather was not quite the best stand-outside-and-eat-ice-cream weather, but we’re hardcore. We braved it, wind and all!
As soon as we made it up to the window, I was absolutely ecstatic to see that they had my favorite flavor on the menu this week: Raspberry Crème Twist.
“Bring it wind!!! Nothin’ gets in my way of a raspberry crème twist from Martha’s!”
Soft serve makes me happy. No doubt about it. Especially when there’s rainbow sprinkles involved. ![]()
“Good friends are like the rainbow sprinkles on my soft serve.”
After eating and chatting some more (in the car), we made a quick pit stop back to Joelle’s house to see the latest edition to her family…
Ladies & Gents, meet Forest! ![]()
Joelle & Kyle actually rescued Forest the Pug from a puppy mill just recently, so it’s so nice to know he’s got a good home, which he obviously feels quite comfortable in.
He’s also got a good little companion, too. Isn’t Tinker a cutie?
I think Tinker and Cody could be boyfriend and girlfriend…what do ya think?? ![]()
************
As always, it was a great afternoon spent with the girls! Now I’m actually getting ready to head back out with Jay for a Game Night with some of our other friends.
My goodness, I’m a busy bee today!
Question for the Day…could be a fun one!…
What’s the strangest thing you ever did in a parking lot? ![]()

Ha, very good question! I’ve changed clothes in a parking lot – that’s kind of strange!

What a fun afternoon with the girls! Nothing beats some champagne and ice cream. I think the weirdest thing I’ve ever done is change clothes in the back seat lol Forest is the cutest thing ever! How adorable. And I definitely think Cody and Tinker could be bf and gf

Not me, but my husband and his friends removed my husbands cast in a parking lot when he was in basic a few years ago, lol.

Champagne in a car with my friends looks fun to me! Strangest thing I’ve done…probably changed clothes from ballet to an outfit for my crew practice. Changing clothes in a car is tough!

Soft serve yummmm
I can’t wait until all of my friends start getting engaged! Planning a wedding sounds too much fun. But I might have to wait at least 5 years for that LOL.
Weirdest thing I’ve done i a parking lot was sleep. My friends wanted to go to Best Buy on Black Friday, but I gave up on waiting in line around 4 AM and headed back to the car to snoozeee.

Hahaha I love it!! Definitely a fun and memorable way to celebrate.
Uhhh…this story is kind of awkward but in tenth grade my two best friends and I all made out with our boyfriends for like an hour leaning up against opposite sides of the same car. You know. because that’s super cool when you’re fifteen.

Hahaha…that so definitely sounds like a high school thing that I would have done too!
When I was 10, my family and I took a trip to India. We were visiting an old temple, and on our way, we took a break. I got out of the car, chocolate chip cookie in hand, and starting chomping away. Out of nowhere, a gang (5-8) of monkeys started chasing me around the car. My dad kept yelling for me to drop the cookie, but I couldn’t hear him over my own screaming. I finally dropped it, and they left me alone. Weird, scary, and kinda funny all in one!
