Incredible x 1000

I think today has been one of the most productive Mondays I’ve had in over a month, easily. And it felt so good to have that sense of accomplishment again!

I tackled my boatload of to-do’s, including a trip to “mom’s salon” (aka, her basement) to get a long overdue trim on my ends. You can kind of see her setup here, in what is one of my favorite Easter picsjust look at my man pumpin’ his iron! Mwaahahaha.

While I was gettin’ my hairs did, I was talking with my mom and trying to figure out a way to put together a couple VLOGS for you guys.

I’ve had a few requests from you lovelies on how I do my hair and makeup. I’m still not totally sure how I’ll go about them, since they aren’t that exciting, but I’m still going to go ahead and attempt ‘em anyways. I’ve been itching to do a vlog for a while, and I think I’m now fully ready to commit and totally make a fool of myself.

Be on the lookout! Surprised smile

Tonight’s dinner was already planned at about 1:30 this afternoon, after seeing a picture of the most amazing looking salad beast. So when dinner time hit, I unloaded every last item out of my veggie drawer and got to work.

This salad may not look as pretty as usual, but that’s because I went the “chopped” salad direction tonight. This is probably, in my opinion, the easiest way to not only prepare a salad, but also to incorporate all of your flavors evenly throughout the bowl.

To do it, all I do is throw everything into a large metal bowl, take my pizza cutter, and start hacking away at it. Yikes, that sounded morbid

Today’s chopped salad included a little bit of everything: spring mix, romaine, cukes, grape tomatoes, onions, red peppers, carrots, broccoli, dried cranberries, goat cheese, 2 slices of deli chicken, croutons, and some balsamic vinaigrette.

It was incredible, times 1000.

To “round out the meal,” I portioned myself out some Kashi honey sesame crackers…

Really, I promise…I really did try to portion them.

But then, the box was brought into the living room, and somehow this happened…

Woops.

Ahhh, no biggie. I actually did a fairly decent job of preventing myself from going overboard. And besides…don’t all those veggies I just ate cancel out anything else anyways?? Winking smile

Question for the Evening:

Do you have a hard time being in front of a camera/video camera, or do you like being in the middle of the action?

Portioning is 100% necessary for me, especially with things like crackers!

I give you credit for attempting the vlogs! I’m sure you will be adorable on them! :)

I think it’s fun, too! I was in a commercial before and I loved it. However…I think a Chobani commercial would be totally awesome :)

Yum that salad looks great, and it reminds me that I need some red onion in my life. I love onion in a salad, and beets. A huge salad is definitely happening for lunch :)

I’m so awkward in front of the camera. And then when I see it, I’m creeped out by how different my voice sounds. “Do I really talk like that?” is a favorite phrase of mine haha. And The Bee’s Knees p.b.? Is that just honey & pb? I’m going back to PB & co. in NYC this summer and want to pick up a jar (or 20)!

Being on camera is fun if you are *actually having fun*! LOL If I have nothing to say or I feel like I don’t look good I get all freaked out! When I am in my element I have a lot more confidence.

Yum, that salad looks amazing! We have no vegetables right now, so all I had was lettuce and Italian dressing to go with my dinner. I’m definitely having food envy right now.

  1. […] Sweet Tooth Sweet Life -Chopped Salad I really love her idea for chopping salad. I was planning on buying OXO Salad Chopper which is basically a bowl with a double pizza cutter. It never occurred to me to use a pizza cutter. So I think my next purchase will be a higher quality pizza cutter then I already have. Thanks for helping me save $24.99 […]
