Hey everyone! How’s your weekend going??
Did you check out those Bamango Muffins from earlier? Seriously, they look incredible, don’t they???
Well, so far, today has been a great day down here in VA Beach! Jay and I decided to start our day off on the right foot by hitting up the fitness center located within our hotel. When I saw that they had one, I really got excited, so this morning, we made our way down to check out what it was all about.
Wow, talk about a “fitness center.” Not exactly a whole lot of variety, but at least they had something, and lucky for us, the place was empty so we were able to have our pick of machines.
Seeing as though we’re on vacation and umm, well, didn’t feel like spending our whole morning in the “gym,” we decided to each do 15-20 minutes on the treadmill and elliptical and call it a day.
I ended up doing 20 mins of intervals on the treadmill, alternating 1 minute @ 8.0mph and 1 minute @ 4.5mph. On the elliptical, I finished up with 15 minutes using the interval program, alternating forward and backward every 4 minutes.
The two of us finished feeling strong!
Actually, that’s a total lie. The both of us agreed that it felt like one of the hardest workouts we’ve attempted in a while. I don’t know what the reason was, but it was t-u-f-f.
Hey, at least we got in there, right?
After our tougher-than-ever workout, we headed down to the free breakfast with only 20 minutes to spare. I re-fueled with some not-so-surprising goodies.
Fresh fruit (seriously, this fruit salad is amazing)
2 slices of wheat toast with peanut butter, jelly, and banana slices
And some coffee. Yes, hot coffee. I debated on drinking it, seeing as though I haven’t had hot coffee probably since April…and let’s not forget to mention the fact that I was still sweating profusely from my face as we were sitting and eating. (Oh I’m sure our fellow breakfast-goers loved us.)
But it was surprisingly really good (especially for hotel coffee), so I ended up downing the whole thing and loving it.
Once we finished breakfast, we headed back up to our room, changed into our suits, and headed out for some beach action.
It was another beautiful day out here…full of sunshine and definitely H-O-T-T HOT!
Usually, I’m not a hat person on the beach, but somehow I ended up stealing this one from my mom…I LOVE it. She even said I can have it, which is awesome, because now I don’t have to feel bad about it “accidentally making its way into my suitcase” at the end of the week.
This was pretty much the rest of our afternoon…lots of sun, sand, water, and people.
Around 3:00, we all decided we were pretty much “beached out” for the day; we were all feeling a little crispy and the beach was overflowing with people. Definitely no Outer Banks!
So what better way to spend the remaining afternoon hours than by the hotel bar, enjoying Happy Hour, right?
Now, we’re about to head on out for some dinner. Not exactly sure where we’re headed yet, but hopefully it’s somewhere good!
Question for the Evening:
What’s your favorite part of the beach? Sun…sand…ocean…sounds…people watching?

Aww you two look so cute in the gym with your little muscle pose! What a pair
Also, btw, don’t hotel breakfasts taste so good when they’re free? What is it about free food???
My fave part of the beach is definitely the “serenity.” As you know, I’m a little bit high strung/stressed out at times, so I like how the water and quiet brings me a rare sense of calm.
Hope you enjoyed the Coronas!
I grew up by the beach, so I took it for granted for a while, but I love quiet beaches were you can just relax and listen to the waves come in. I also love thunderstorms at the beach (so totally not safe), there is something relaxing about watching rain over the water.
OHhhhhh im soooo jealous! you too look great and the beach and hotel looks so amazing! right now as im in in rainy ol England.
i luuuurve the sea, batheing, swimming in it and surfing in it. I get ants in my pants just lazin’ on the beach/tannin’ the whole time.
hope you enjoy the rest of your vaccay. xxx
I’m not a big beach-goer which everyone finds to be the weirdest thing ever! When I do go though, I like to just relax & read!
Love the hat… I always accidentally pack up Nicole’s things when I’m going on vacation hahaaa.
Best part of the beach? Sun + towel + sunscreen + crashing waves = deep sleep naps LOOOOVE THEM
Way to get up and going!!!! I love the sun and FREE SCHEDULE to do what I want…. And that no one from work is going to bother me!
Sun tanning and reading for sure!
I love laying out with a good book – then taking a dip in the water when it gets too warm!
Oh what I would give to skip work for a day and just go relax at the beach! I’ll have to put that on the agenda for next weekend. My favorite part about the beach is pretty much everything
i love relaxing with a nice cold beer just listening to the waves crash against the sand.
The best part if the beach is suuuuunshine! But I’d be fibbing if I said I didn’t regularly people watch. Sometimes the people at the beach act out a real life soap opera!!
Looks like so much fun! I am craving the beach right now, and may have to just pick up and go this week.
I just love the feeling of being relaxed and enjoying everything around me.
I love everything about the beach! When I’m on vacation, my workouts tend to be super tough too! I think it’s because your mind tricks your body into thinking it’s on a break, so it completely shuts down. I usually make sure I at least take a 30 min walk every day when I’m on vacay, but you totally beat me with your gym workout!
My favorite part of the beach is laying in the sunshine And escaping from the daily world and reading a good book.
oh #/& All the interestkng restaurants and shops you find out of town.
Wow, nice job going to the gym, even on vacation!!!
My favorite part of the beach is just laying out in the sun with a good book!
Looks like you guys are having a good time! Soak up some sun for me!
people watching is always one of the best part of the beach… but I love relaxing with a great book and falling asleep in the sand
I love floating in the water, reading a book in a beach chair, and of course the occasional people watching is great also!
Yey for Hampton complimentary breakfasts!
(You’d think I was some kind of Hampton promoter or something…. lol)
Looks like you having a great time at the beach
so jealous, haha
I love everything about the beach…the smell, the sound of the water, and of course getting tan
Aw, love the gym picture of you two! I think I love everything about the beach- except for the seagulls…they really annoy me
. Hope you guys are having fun!
I did almost the exact same workout today, 20 minutes on the treadmill 1 min @ 8, 1 min @ 5 and then 15 on the elliptical. funny!
Love the new hat
Love when hotels advertise a “fitness center” and it has 3 machines. Oh well at least they had something! That hat is darling, I need a floppy sun hat for my vacation later this summer! Hope dinner was great!
I’d love to spend some time on the beach! Too cold and wet in Ireland
My favourite thing is listening to the sound of the ocean!
I love the ocean sounds! I don’t get to the ocean much since I live in the midwest. Your pics make me want to go on vacation. The beach looks beautiful!
I love to lay out in the sun, look to one side of the beach, then up at the sky, then to the other side of the beach, think about nothing, repeat.
LOVE that hat too – you look adorbs!
You look AWESOME in that hat!!!!
I love the beach, I live in the Ocean State, so I try to spend as much time there as possible. I love basking in the sun, the water if there’s quality waves, but mostly just chilling with whoever I’m with and people watching!
