My Kinda Nasty Confession

Wow. It’s amazing what a nice hot, steamy shower can do for you!

Because ya know what, I’m gonna be honest with you all right now and come right out and confess the fact that I did not even shower yesterday. And I went to work…twice.

I really must be ill if I’m confessing my nasty non-shower day.

But hey, whatever. I was sick. I didn’t give a crap. (Sorry, Jay…and fellow co-workers).

So I finally got my act together and showered up, right after a quick, 20-minute workout. I was feeling up to it at this point, and I figured 20 minutes couldn’t be all that bad…but holy moly did I get my 20 minutes worth, thanks to this workout:


A couple of weeks ago, the lovely Sarah asked me if I’d be interested in reviewing the new JCORE: Accelerated Body Transformation System (she’s featured in the videos, how cool, right?). The system includes a full workout plan with 6 DVD’s that are each 20 minutes long. To read a little bit more about each of the videos, you can check out the website, which will explain it a whole lot better than I can.

The system includes a meal plan, but I’m already good in that department, so I won’t be following that. It also provides you with a 40-day rotational calendar, involving workouts 4 days a week.

I’m not sure whether or not I’m going to follow the plan to a T, but I do intend on trying out each of the workouts…especially if the rest of ‘em are anything like today’s. Don’t worry, I’ll keep ya in the loop. Winking smile


Once I was finally showered and starting to feel a little bit more like a human being (just one with a pounding head and a red nose), it was time to make some lunch…and salad was the name of the game today.


Lots of fresh veggies today, including romaine, cucumbers, grape tomatoes, baby carrots, bread & butter pickles, broccoli, red onions, a crumbled Boca Burger, and a big ‘ol dollop of roasted red pepper hommus as dressing.


Massive, filling, and delicious.

That headachey feeling is awful–I had a terrible headache this morning in class and felt like I was going to pass out. It was so stuffy in the room and I couldn’t pay the least bit of attention. Luckily, I felt much better once I came home and curled up on the sofa!

That salad looks delicious!! And quick workouts are the best! They can still be really challenging, even if you’re not at it for an hour. Case and point: Anything by Jillian Michaels! I did the first 30 day shred workout today and while it was only 30 minutes I was more than ready for it to be over when the cooldown came around!

I’ve never heard of Jcore but i am a fan of quick and effective workouts. Not that I don’t like to workout but its the burn and results i love!

It is brand new! Just came out a couple weeks ago. Jay is 50 cents former 24/7 trainer and currently Shape Magazine Editor-at-Large. We are starting to air infomercials this week! It’s very exciting :)

Darn! I loved this giveaway! Oh well, I just went to Sparkly Soul and bought the thick band in black anyway using the coupon code! ;) I also have the exact same cold/sickness/death feeling. Runny/stuffy nose, pounding head aches, ears are stopped up, and dizziness. I hope you feel better!

Don’t worry, you always have an excuse not to shower when you’re sick. But it does always feel so good when you do take a nice, long, hot shower!

If I don’t workout then sometimes I won’t shower either haha. Now if I worked out and got drenched in sweat like I normally do, that would just be scary. Feel better!

My favorite hands down is the one when I’m wearing an orange sports bra – I think it’s called the 4×4 – the one that is a boob shot of me half the time (purple sports bra) was really challenging for me. I needed the modifications in the middle. The 4×4 I could do without – but still had to for the video purpose.

That is what dry shampoo is for! Sometimes all you realllllly need is to fake it like you’ve got clean hair and then no one can tell you haven’t showered! (Not that I practice that habit ever ;) )
