Today is another fun numbers day! 6/6/12 —— 6 + 6 = 12
Did anyone else catch that one yet? And, believe it or not, it’s currently 8:26am as I type this —— 8 = 2 + 6.
No idea why I get such a kick out of playing with numbers, but it’s so much fun.
Speaking of fun…let’s talk about this breakfast.
Actually, I don’t necessarily know if I’d call it fun, but it sure was good and full of variety.
Scrambled eggs with ketchup, banana bread + Justin’s honey PB, and a white peach. I’ve always loved the white peaches and nectarines but tend to only get them on occasion because they’re like, at least a dollar more expensive and I’m cheap.
This was also, sadly, the very last piece of banana bread. Jay actually helped me eat this one this time (as he said, “it doesn’t have that “spongy” taste that some of your other healthy stuff has” <—pshh!) so we worked through this loaf pretty quickly.
Looks like I may need to try and whip something else up sometime this week…I have been having some fun in the kitchen lately. (P.S. – Somebody needs to make the Buffalo Chicken Pasta ASAP and tell me how much you love it.)
Off to work, then I think it may be yoga time…by the way, how’s everyone doing on their June Yoga Challenge so far?
Don’t forget – we’ll be linking up on Friday, so be sure to get your recap posts ready and keep tweeting your progress – #juneyogachallenge – (if you don’t have a blog but still want to participate, email me your recap).
A little birdy also just told me that there mayyyy be a giveaway involved for participants who link up all month.
Juuuuust sayin’.
Question for the Morning:
Do you like to play with numbers/play number games?
Sarah says
I’m not a big numbers game person but I am loving the Yoga Challenge so far! We go through banana bread pretty fast in my house too :) It’s just so stinkin good!
Faith @ For the Health of It says
That buffalo chicken pasta sounds really good! I may have to buy a package of Gardein next time I’m at Publix and give that a go. I’ve been craving buffalo bleu cheese dip for some odd reason, but this sounds like it would fill the craving too!
Jaren@Kiwi Fit Blog says
My fiance likes eggs with ketchup, I’ve always thought it was weird, but I do like salsa on my eggs.
Caroline @ After Dinner Dance says
I tried my first Hatha class last night and really liked it. I think I’m going to stick with yoga this time around and go at least once, hopefully twice a week all summer!
Khushboo says
i have this weird superstition to make a wish whenever it’s 10:10, 11:11, 12:12, 05:05 etc…that leaves me 24 opportunities a day to make a wish haha !
Ashley @ My Food 'N' Fitness Diaries says
i’m not a huge numbers person, but my husband absolutely is! he’ll always point out stuff like that. oh, and i’m loving the june yoga challenge so far!
Leanne says
I’m very much into numbers like that!!! I love numerology and all things numbers! The funny thing is, I don’t like the number 2 in particular, but for some reason if I look at the clock at night, it’s almost ALWAYS 22:22 in digital numbers. :D I love things like that!
Talk to you on Friday for the update ;-)
krystal@coffeecardiogoddess says
I probably won’t make the buffalo pasta this week, but I’m definately making those pb oatmeal cookies:)
Presley (@runpretty) says
glad I’m not the only one that loves it when the numbers on the clock/calendar add up…
Kristen @ notsodomesticated says
Don’t you just love husbands’ comments about healthy cooking? I swear, it’s pure psychological. When my husband doesn’t know it’s healthy, he’s much more likely to enjoy it!
Courtney says
Agreed!!
Sabine says
I am also into this numbers thing :) !
Today is my 36th birthday.
3+6=9
9 is the number of the house I recently bought with my boyfriend (lot of work to do there right now!). If that’s not GOOD LUCK, I don’t know what is :) !
And this morning I burned 333 calories running, so there’s the next number 9!
I also love watching at the clock and realizing it is 12:12, for example. Sometimes I purposely wait for the seconds to match, too.
Or, when running, I get so much fun out of it if my pulse matches the calories burned, like 135 and 135 or so.
LOTS of opportunities to find funny numbers for crazy people like us :) .
Courtney says
Now this is awesome :)
Laurie @ Love, Laugh, Laurie says
I am the same way with numbers. I am super pumped because we picked a wedding date that is 7.20.13 and 7 + 13 = 20!
Courtney says
Ooooo, I love that!
Yellow Haired Girl says
I’m kind of a numbers person. My mom and I both count things … I count the number of letters in words. When she gets bored, she counts the pieces of furniture that touch the ground in any given room. We’re a little crazy ;)
Courtney says
Now that furniture thing is definitely different!
Jaime Hodge says
Whoaa! You’re right! I never realized it! I now accept that I’m not really good in numbers Lol!
Love your food here.. You make me crave for this too! Yummy!
Holly says
I WILL be trying your buffalo chicken pasta! I was planning to make it tonight, BUT I have leftover lazy lasagna to finish. (<–LOVE that stuff, so I don't want it to go to waste) I can assure you though that I will be making it ASAP because ALL I want my entire pregnancy is pasta. That's it. I will eat it for breakfast, lunch & dessert. This little lady inside of me is a carb lover ;) You know what would pair perfectly with the pasta? (well, at least I think it would..) Corn bread. Yep, for us cornbread lovers annonomous ;)
Nothing like MORE carbs to go with a carb meal!! :)
Courtney says
Haha, I hear ya! I can’t get enough of fresh Italian bread with an Italian pasta dinner. Too funny :)
Danielle @ Itsaharleyyylife says
OMG I thought I was the only person that played that game. haha When I was little and playing soccer I used to do it with the numbers on the back of peoples shirts. {weird I know}
Laura @ LauraLikesDesign says
Haha, I get a kick out of the numbers games too. In our family, we have birthdays that are in all different months but our dates are 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, etc. consecutively. I’m obsessed with it. lol
I’ve been on such a banana bread kick lately, too! My favorite is to top it with butter and chocolate chips…haven’t tried PB though. I need to try your recipe and then top it with some peanut or almond butter–I bet it’s delicious.
Have a great day, Courtney….and thanks for checking out my blog! Maybe we can work together in the future for an illustration giveaway on your blog…?
Courtney says
Shoot me an email :)
Suzanne(fitmindedmom) says
I don’t think I would call myself a BIG numbers person but I tend to be aware of them. I do have to make a wish anytime I catch the clock at 11:11, 2:22, 4:44, ect.!!
I wish I could make the Buffalo Pasta tonight but I already have my meals planned for the week. It however, is going into next weeks meal plan. I already put Franks on everything so I can imagine how good the pasta is. YUM!!
Sabrina @Work It Ms Jackson says
I’m a numbers person and I did notice today’s date! And today is my sister’s birthday too making it slightly cooler. And speaking of my sister, I have another sister who has a birthday of 12/12 so this year it’s 12/12/12, AWESOME!
Our anniversary is 7/11. It doesn’t add up to the year we got married (2010) but it’s still cool in a way. A friend of mine has a birthday 5/11, and another friend is 6/11, then our anniversary is 7/11 and our six year old’s birthday is 8/11. Then my hubby goes and ruins it with a birthday of 9/12. Way to go TJ! hahaha!
Anywho, good to know I’m not the only one.
Alysia @ Slim Sanity says
I have some bananas that I need a baking solution for. May need to try out that recipe!
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
lol, I didn’t realize the day today!! lol I’m doing terrible on the yoga, but I will work on it. No time like the present!
Grace says
I’m not really a numbers person…I’m all about the words. Your breakfast looks completely delicious!
Alysha @Shesontherun says
I thought about 6/6/12 this morning. At least it’s not 6/6/06!
Kim @ The Family Practice says
I do that with numbers too! I always try to add up license plate numbers or find some sort of mathematical pattern. I do it with the clock too
Courtney says
Yes! Those are two of my favorite “number spots!” :)
Nicole says
I do all sorts of weird stuff with numbers – especially the odometer on my car. My mom and I will call each other when we get to a “cool number”. Anything like, “13000” or “75757” or “24680” gets a phone call.
….okay, now I feel weird. Hahaha! :D
Shannon says
I like numbers games. Unfortunately, my birthday doesn’t have any number game to it. :( I like the uniqueness of number games. It’s funny how things match up sometimes.
Katie @ Talk Less, Say More says
I like to play with numbers too! My parents were always surprised I didn’t go into a career that was numbers related because I was always so good with them and math and stuff…ehh, no thanks. But I will get a kick out of fun number combinations. :)
Karen says
Love the number thing! My wedding date is 8/4/12 8+4=12
dee says
I get a kick out of numbers, too! I think it’s gotten to be an unhealthy obsession! For example, my alarms are never set on multiples of 5. I like 2’s and 7’s, so if I tell someone I woke up at 8:42, they think I’m being “SO PRECISE,” or “so very observant/exact.” haha :) and my snooze button is set for 5 minutes, so they’ll always end in 2’s and 7’s! bah…I can’t be the only one :)
Rebecca says
Tried the buffalo chicken pasta tonight – got a definite thumbs up in my house!
Courtney says
YAY!! :)
Katy says
My Yoga Challenge starts tomorrow! My goal is to work 2 yoga workouts into my week. I am very optimistic but a total procrastinator. :-)
