It’s Tuesday so you know what that means…

I got the day started with an early morning BodyPump class, followed up with 15 easy minutes on the elliptical. I was actually slightly frustrated with today’s class because, for some reason, it seemed so much more difficult than usual. It was the same tracks we’ve been doing, so it has nothing to do with that, but my muscles were definitely fatiguing a lot quicker than usual. Hmmph.
I had thought I had a couple of clients shortly after my own workout this morning, but apparently there was some sort of miscommunication, so I headed back home for breakfast.
Hello, Cody.
Since I already planned on being out for a few hours this morning, I put together a batch of muesli last night to bring for breakfast. I prepared it with a container of plain Chobani, crushed pineapple, chia seeds, and blueberries, but it had definitely soaked up just about all of the liquid, so I added some extra almond milk this morning.
And then I topped it with a couple tablespoons of PB2, which tasted absolutely fabulous stirred throughout.
While I sat and ate my breakfast, I happened to catch one of my favorite segments on Good Morning America – Deals & Steals – but today, it was all about hot summer beauty products, and some of the deals were incredible.
For instance…I’m currently toying with the idea of ordering myself one of these gorgeous Cuore & Pell Amelia bags. These bags originally retail for $325…

But now they’re on sale for $75 PLUS free shipping (w/ promo code GMABAG).
Crap. Nevermind…just checked the site and each style is out of stock. I knew I should have just ordered it!
Ahh well. I should just take that as a sign that I should refrain from any online shopping today. But then again, they are also having a deal on these FHI Flat Irons…

I’m really in need of a good flat iron (ironic, I know, considering the fact that my hair is already pin straight), and these are on sale for $60 + free shipping, down from $225. Hmmm…to buy or not to buy?!?
Has anyone ever heard anything about this brand? Any good? If not, since we’re on the subject, I’d love to hear any of your recommendations for a good flat iron (that won’t totally dry up the wallet!).
Darn you, GMA. Now I’ve got the itch to online shop in a BAD way… ![]()

Your spreading your itch! Not that it takes much when it comes to me and online shopping!

Haha I’ve always thought it was funny when people with super straight hair still ues a flat iron – my best friend does that to reduce frizz I guess. I’ve never used that brand – I’ve had a couple Chi’s.

I have an FHI curling iron and it’s really professional and works great. I used to borrow my mom’s FHI straightener and can highly recommend it. Other than that, CHI makes great straighteners if you can find a good deal online
That bag was such a steal! Bummer you missed out on it! I snagged some white topaz and sterling silver earrings on Groupon yesterday for $9 a pair (from $100!) – I wasnt sure if I wanted them, but I had to grab them before they sold out. Worst case scenario, I don’t like them and they make a nice gift for a friend!
i’ve used a CHI straightener for years and i love it. i know they’re a little pricey, but i think they’re totally worth it.

I LOVE my Solia flat iron. I can’t remember how much I paid for it, but I always get my straighteners from folica.com for a good price. Another good one is Sedu. I’ve never used and FHI but I hear good things about them.
One that I would not recommend is the CHI. People swear by them, but they must already have pin straight hair. For me, they break and don’t work well. They’re not great products and I think that their success can be attributed to market strategy.
I’m the same as Ashley … I really like my CHI!

I swear by the Babyliss Pro flat iron. I used to use CHI but the Babyliss can get much hotter and you can adjust the temperature. It makes my hair super straight and silky smooth. My hair is really thick and curly and this is the only flat iron that works wonders on my hair!

It’s a shame that it’s out of stock. That is such a cute bag.
Before I cut my hair really short I used to straighten my hair every single day, but now all I need to do is brush it and let it air dry. My hair is naturally wavy and straightening it everyday fried it. I used a Chi straightener that my grandmother got me for Christmas.

I have used a CHI for several years and love it. I cant remeber how much it was at the time, but for some reason $100-$150 is ringing a bell. I’m sure they have the prices online.
You are making me want to shop! I could use a new flat iron and those bags look really cute!

I have had a Chi hair straightener for 8+ years (same one!) and it still works great! I love it. I think they’re less than $100 but I haven’t checked in 8 years
Ugh, I want a bag now too!

I don’t know anything about that brand but I too, am in need of a good flat iron for the days I want to straighten my hair. It just takes SO long because there’s so much and it’s so thick, so it’s a rare occurrence that I actually do it. lol

I have an Fhi flat iron and I love mine… It works really well.
I love the bags! Especially the teal one! I love Chi flat irons. I don’t feel like they burn my hair. Torched hair just isn’t for me. They have multiple sizes depending on your hair type too! And they’re all ceramic and have a nice smooth covering so your hair doesn’t get ripped if strands are wrapped around each other. Good luck!

My hubby bought me an FHI flat iron a couple of years ago and it is really great. You don’t feel like you are frying your hair when you use it, my hair doesn’t get caught in the grooves like it has with past flat irons, it’s easy to handle and heats up very fast. I highly recommend it. =)
Have a great day, Courtney!

Cute bags! One of my readers contacted me about the Today Show specials. I bought a ton of pancake mix, syrup and jam from Stonewall Kitchen for only $19.00. I am over stocked now!
As for the straight iron, not sure. I used a Chi. I would recommend googling it and checking amazon for reveiws. Dam you Girl! I want to go shopping!!!

ooooh. If that’s a quality straightener, I’d buy! I adore my Sultra Wicked, though. I can’t stray from my beloved brand.

I have extremely curly hair and straighten it all the time with my Solia flat iron. I actually have two of them, one for my bathroom and one in my gym bag. Folica.com is my fave place to shop for all my hair tools and they always run good promotions. I’d check them out for sure.

I spent 120 on my last flat iron but it was the BEST decision. My old ones were frying my hair and my stylist advised to invest in a really good one. The K-Pack iron is AMAZING! Definitely not cheap but so worth it.

I found a Kate Spade bag online for $150 and was originally $500 and I was SO tempted to buy it but I decided to sleep on it. I went back the next morning and they were completely sold out! I was so upset because now that I couldn’t have it I wanted it more than ever!

The bag is available again– you can order it but will be on backorder! So what color were you thinking of buying? I am tempted to purchase one even though I don’t need anymore purses!
I’d say, why not? I don’t use a hair straightner but that’s a really good deal. After school gets out, I’m going to try and watch GMA every morning. I like the Today Show but GMA’s anchors and correspondents seem like such a family.
I’ll try to catch next week’s Deals & Steals segment.
Courtney,
Thank you for the post. I love the Elliptical workouts. IS that the Bob Mill Muesli from your other posts? That looks amazingly good!

Yup, sure is!
I ADORE my GHD. It was a gift, so admittedly I didn’t have to stump the bill, but it is totally worth it. I use it most days, it’s quick to heat up, stays really hot, and automatically turns off when I forget. Oh, and it survives being knocked on the floor every. day.
