Do Just That {Giveaway CLOSED}

So while I was in Target the other day buying pumpkin waffles, I also happened to come across a few other goodies…one of which is this Planters Nut-rition Energy Mix peanut butter.

It was on sale and I had a coupon (which was supposed to be off of two but I still got the deal anyway – score!) so I figured I’d give it a shot since the cinnamon, raisin, granola nut combo sounded wayyyy up my alley.

I enjoyed a glob of it mid-morning today along with a golden delicious apple.

The verdict? It’s pretty good. I’m not sure I’d buy it again, but I’ll definitely finish up the jar. I don’t think I’d enjoy it on a sandwich (then again, who knows?) but I do like it as a dipper.

A couple of hours later, I took a break from some work since hubby came home for lunch and put together a big ‘ol yogurt bowl for myself. It was just sounding too good at that moment to pass up.

I paired a plain Chobani (plus 3 spoonfuls of vanilla chocolate chunk CHO mixed in) with some fresh blueberries, raspberries, and a mix of Cascadian Farms and Love Grown Foods granola.

Of course, as soon as I put my bowl down, Cody was right there to keep watch over it.

So as I mentioned, that lovely bowl right there included some of my granola EVER – the LOVE.

You may remember a couple of weeks ago when I received a very fun and generous Love Drop in the mail.

Well, to be honest, I’m starting to acquire more granola than I can consume. Crazy, right? Well, since I’m the only granola eater in the house, it starts to pile up pretty quickly, so I figured that since Love Grown is all about “spreading the love,” today would be as good a day as any to go ahead and do just that.

So I’m going to go ahead and give away some Love Grown granola goodness to three lucky STSL readers. Just leave a nice and positive comment below and you’ll be entered to win.

I always love reading all of your positive thoughts and stuff anyways. Winking smile

I’ll announce the winners in my afternoon post tomorrow. Good luck!!

Thanks to everyone who entered my giveaway and shared all of your positive comments – I loved reading ALL of them! Congrats to our three lucky winners…

  1. Kate says

  2. Nicole says

You know, I need to remember that the cure for a bad day or a grumpy mood is a good workout. I left work yesterday a total sour faced beast. After I left the gym? Happy and skippy! Nothing beats a good sweat!

    Hey There

I love the positive energy of your blog and check it twice a day…and I have gotten some great inspiration for recipes of my own! xoxo

I love that you are having so many giveaways recently! I’ve never tried that granola, but I am a granola lover so I’m sure I’d love it!

And thanks for the Planters Nut-rition Energy Mix peanut butter review. I always see it when I go to the grocery store and go back and forth if I want to buy it or not. Looks like I’ll at least wait until it’s on sale to give it a try! Even if it’s not ideal for sandwiches, it might be great in recipes :)

Happy Thursday!!! It’s almost Friday…and I love granola.

And I’m not sure if this is positive or “less than positive” (since it’s taken me so long), but I tried my VERY FIRST Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte this morning. Yay me!!!! =)

  8. Briana says

Positive thought for me? I get to go home to see my family next weekend! Granted its only been 3 weeks but I still miss them!

  9. Hannah says

I recently tried the peanut butter and completely agree, it was great on the celery I had, but I don’t know how I would feel about it on a pb&j. And I have to say, my reactions to your posts always make me feel a little sheepish. Whenever you talk about a new find (waffles, granola, etc.) I always think I WANT THAT and plan how quickly I can get myself to Target :-)

  10. Amanda says

Hi! I am new reader! I found you through twitter and I always look forward to your posts especiiy your posts about food! my husband and i are trying your chicken parm burgers this weekend! I love granola but have not tried Love Grown granola! It looks delicious!

    And, I love granola 😀

  20. Courtney says

I used to make a batch of homemade granola every week and then I stopped and haven’t added it back in my routine. Needless to say I’m in desperate need of some good and health(ier) granola!

  21. Natalie says

I love that peanut butter with my oatmeal and as added ingredient in protein balls I make! gives it a sweet and salty taste

  22. Kate says

Thanks so much for spreading the love! I haven’t ever tried the granola, but it looks wonderful. And thanks for all your hard work and blogging efforts – you are a great role model.

  23. Nina says

I’ve been eyeing that granola ever since you posted about receiving in the mail!

And I’m so glad that I found your blog! I admire you for your openness about HA and becoming healthy by letting yourself gain some weight and not be so focused on the scale and overly excessive exercise. Honestly, that’s what a healthy living blog should be about. Some of the healthy living blogs don’t have a good balance between working out and eating normal sized portions which can actually give a false sense of health. Love you and your blog!

  24. says

I tried that same flavor of NUT-rition and LOVED it! But I get what you’re saying about not liking it on a sandwich. I only used it for dipping, but mostly just ate it with a spoon. 😉
Also, I’ve just recently started adding granola into my life (I used to be afraid of the calories, how dumb??!) and would LOVE a chance to try the famous Love Grown that I’ve heard so much about!
Thanks for the inspiration and smiles that you give through your blog. It’s definitely one of my very favorites!

  27. Sarah says

That peanut butter does look delicious but I’m with you on certain kinds only being in certain places. If it’s anything other than “normal” I’m funny about putting it on a sandwhich. On a positive note, it’s Thursday which means tomorrow is Friday! Woohoo! And you are one fantastic blogger who is sweet enough to “share the Love” with the granola giveaway :)

  28. Krystina says

I just started reading your blog a week ago and I think you’re awesome! Yay! granola! I’m not sure if this counts but did you see the story of the little boy and the girl with cancer? A boy of 8 won some prize money ( a lot) and gave it all for the little girl next door’s cancer treatment! So beautiful :) Man, if only all of us could be like him… anyhow thanks for the giveaway girl!

And always remember to smile…it’s contagious 😉

  36. Lauren says

I saw that new peanut butter at Target a few days ago too! I was soo close to buying it but since I always give in to the urge to buy nut butters that I haven’t tried yet (and now they are stockpiling in my pantry), I decided I wasn’t allowed to buy another nut butter until I finished some others. I’m often the same way with granola, but right now I’m running low so I could actually use some Love Grown :) Plus it’s hard to come by around me 😉

  37. Lauren says

I’ve seen that peanut butter at target and really wanted to try it! Maybe next time i’ll get it! I hope you’re having a good thursday. :)

  41. says

I’m a huge granola fan and have been meaning to trying Love Grown for ages now. As for the positive comment, I’ve been meaning to say this for awhile now. I LOVE your pictures of Cody – I’m a total cat person and I always feel in the minority because everybody else seems to be a dog-lover (I like dogs, too!). Cat-lovers need to stick together :)

Positive comment…ok, getting me through the work day is thinking about the hilarity that will come out of my 4 year old son’s mouth during our evening activities – Last night it was him imitating the announcer saying “This IS Jeapo-dy!” over and over again and cracking me up!

PS Random but I’ve been meaning to comment this anyway- your buffalo mac & cheese recipe…let’s just say, I made it once and now my husband literally has dreams about it. He even asked me to make it for his birthday this year…and he NEVER asks me to make him a special meal! He said it’s probably one of the best things he’s ever ate. Thanks for the recipe :)

*I’ve tried the Berry Nut Planters Nut-trition peanut butter…it’s really good, but I agree with you that it’s better as a dip than a sandwich spread. Not sure I’ll buy it again though, the ingredients aren’t as great as I’d like (added sugar, etc…)

  83. Caroline says

I finally feel like fall is here! For some reason granola makes me feel cozy and warm like are some things that made me happy today:

knowing I can go home and snuggle tonight with my bf!!

I just wanted to let you know how proud I am of you for doing the right thing for your body after your HA diagnosis. I have recently been experiencing very similar symptoms to HA and I knew that I was not giving my body the amount of fuel it needed to sustain the amount of exercise i was doing. I have been at war with myself for quite sometime about how to change my lifestyle; i simply couldn’t fathom the idea of not exercising or eating more that i was. Your blog posts about dealing with HA have really inspired me to do what is right for my body, despite the fact that it means that I have to gain a little bit of weight. It is comforting to know that this isn’t the end of the world. Being healthy is what is most important and you helped me to realize that!! thank you so much!

  115. Jenny says

I’m the only granola eater in my house too so I rarely get to buy it because I’ll devour the whole bag way too quickly on my own.

  116. Nicole says

Love nut butter’s – peanut, almond, any kind. I want to try cashew sometime as well. I eat them every day and sometimes get a little out of hand. Same goes with the granola, I like to make my own, but find it ‘disappears’ to quickly haha.

I constantly find myself smiling, nodding, and laughing out loud at your posts! As for the granola, I have been dying to try Love Grown but haven’t been able to find it!

I just bought the Nutrition Berry Nut Mix and I like it. Not a huge fan to the Trader Joe’s Peanut Butter Flaxseed, but it still is quite tasty and fulfills my peanut butter needs. Also, I’ve always wanted to try Love Grown Granola. Still on a search of where I can find it in my location.

Hope you’re having a wonderful day!
