Tuesday Night TV Junkies

by Courtney on November 20, 2012

You guys are awesome! Thank you so much for all of the suggestions and ideas for both my butternut squash and some Thanksgiving desserts. Even though I didn’t make anything today, I do have a couple ideas in mind…

  • For the butternut squash: Best Ever Butternut Squash Soup Ever
  • For Thanksgiving dessert: A pumpkin roll recipe I found in my recipe binder (to bring to Jay’s aunt’s house) AND Kristen’s Caramel Apple Cheesecake to bring to my parents’ house (since they’re crazy and don’t like pumpkin).

Needless to say, I’ll be a bit busy in the kitchen tomorrow!

When it came time for lunch today, I was totally in the mood for eggs. I was pretty hungry by the time I got out to the kitchen though, so I wound up snacking on some sweet potato chips while everything cooked up. Gosh, I love these things.

As for the eggs, they turned our pretty stinkin’ good, too. And hey, here’s a crazy thought; do you guys ever eat scrambled eggs out of a bowl? It’s really an incredible idea…

Especially if you’re not ready to eat your eggs for at least 15 minutes. My goodness. Those guys stayed niiiiice and hot up in there.

But they were, eventually, delicious and made up of tons of onions, broccoli, tomatoes, spinach, and feta cheese. Oh, and ketchup. Duh.

Yummmm.

For dinner tonight, I had planned on making up some sort of chicken dish, but I completely lost all motivation. Poor Jay. Thank goodness he’s pretty self-sufficient and is able to figure something out for himself. As for me, I’ve got a few ideas in the running.

Tuna Salad…

Cereal…

Or diving head first into my bag of TJ’s goodies…

Okay, I’m kidding on that one.

Or am I? Winking smile

My parents think I’m crazy because I eat EVERYTHING out of a bowl (or at least like 75% of my meals) and then everything else is on a tiny plate. The other day there were no clean bowls and my dad was like “here’s a crazy idea, maybe you use a PLATE?!” ha! Crazy dad!

I can’t find any great TV shows on Tuesday nights! I do have last night’s Castle episode to catch up on. I guess my ‘no free Tuesdays’ help me to not watch TV- I have so much homework usually. Today was the last day before break, and the only homework that I have due for Monday is AP U.S. History. What to do, what to do???

I’m attempting a cheesecake this year too. It should be an interesting experiment. And I just realized I have no spring foam pan so this should be good. Haha, oh goodness, it might be more like cheesecake mess but hopefully will still taste good. :)

I love those sweet potato chips/crackers! I’ve only eaten them plain so far but they don’t really need anything for dipping or scooping :)
My husband and I are just catching up on our DVR tonight too.

Most of my meals come out of a bowl ever since becoming a vegetarian…all I seem to want are oats, stews, chilis, soups, etc. Things just fit better in a bowl!

Love the sound of that Caramel Apple Cheesecake! And I eat pretty much whatever I can out of a bowl – I seriously think it makes the food taste better.

I’m in the same boat as you. Tuesday’s are my main tv night. People know not to bother me from 7 to about 9. There are too many good shows on that I have to pick between them because a lot are on at the same time! Not cool.

I’ve never had scrambled eggs out of a bowl before. I love how you add so many different veggies to your scrambled eggs. I definitely need to try that :)
