Hello! Hello! How’s your LAST day of January going so far? (Seriously, already?)
Before I go on to anything else, I want to apologize for any slow loading of STSL you may have been experiencing over the past day or two. Unfortunately, I got word that my server is going down the pooper, so I’m working on getting things switched over. If you haven’t noticed a difference, then awesome! But if you have, thanks for being patient. It’s mucho appreciated!
So yesterday, I wound up getting a mystery package in the mail. If you ask my husband, he feels like we get packages on an almost daily basis so he wasn’t surprised by it. I, however, usually have a good idea of what’s on its way, and this one I had no clue about at all. So I opened it up, and was greeted with a bunch of fun and yummy snacks, courtesy of Jessica from Fit & Fab Yogi.
She said that she wound up accidentally ordering extra of some of her favorite snacks and thought they’d be something I might enjoy. How sweet is that?!?
So I am now the proud owner of some new peeled snacks (which are different but yummy) and a big bag of this boom chicka pop sea salt popcorn. I don’t know about you, but that stuff looks GOOD.
So once I saw who the package was from, I started to notice that there was something about her stationary that just seemed really familiar to me. It actually only took me a minute before I realized that I’d actually received something from Jessica a while back now, and I absolutely NEED to share it with you guys.
Jessica created this book/organizer called “Keeping It Together,” which is just awesome. It’s basically a daily organizer, which helps you keep track of things like meals, workouts, goals, gratitude, and more, with a strong focus on keeping “healthy and happy.”
I love all of the bright, fun colors, but I’m even more in love with just how neatly everything is organized for each day of the year. For all of my planners out there…this is definitely right up your alley!
For me, personally, I’ve always been sort of hit or miss with using various “tools” to help keep me organized. Most of the time, I’ve prided myself in being really good about remembering things without needing a special calendar, etc. But nowadays, I’m trying to get more into the habit because, well, I’ve been a little bit of a space-case now and then. ;)
In addition to the daily organization, the back of the book/organizer/journal (I don’t really know what to call it!) also has some fun resources, and it even includes stickers and clips to help keep you even MORE organized!
And while I can totally appreciate all of this now, all I can think of is how my elementary/middle school self would have been ALL over something like this…most likely in the form of Lisa Frank design. You guys know what I’m talking about, don’t you?! ;)
Since the beginning of the year, I’ve been using my organizer on and off, but I find myself looking to it even more these days. I love keeping things organized, and now with working full time and trying to keep things up to date with the blog and the rest of my life, this has definitely helped.
And just so everyone knows, Jessica never asked me to share/review this on the blog. She sent it to me as an extremely generous gift, but because I’ve been loving it so much, I decided that I needed to share it with you all because I just really enjoy sharing what I love with you guys (especially after that box yesterday jump started my brain and reminded me that it was from her!). If you’re interested in getting one for yourself, or for a gift, she sells them on her website, which you can see by CLICKING HERE.
Oh yeah, and because we also talk about food around these parts, here’s a peek at today’s lunch.
A delicious, veggie-packed salad with roast turkey and balsamic vinaigrette. And it was a GOOD one, too.
As for fitness today, I haven’t quite gotten there yet. After waking up the past three mornings for early morning workouts (WOO HOO!) I decided that I needed that extra hour of sleep this morning. I do have an appointment after work, but it should be a quick one, so I’m hoping that I’ll still have the time (and the motivation) to bust out a quick workout using one of my new DVD’s. Luckily, Jay’s a pretty good motivator, so I think I’ll be able to get ‘er done. ;)
Question for the Morning:
Are you a fan of using various tools to help keep you organized? Do you prefer hand-written organizers and calendars, or do you tend to use things online or on your smartphone?
Beks says
I tend to keep everything synced to my Google calendar, which syncs up to my Android. I don’t schedule a lot of things, but when I do, it’s nice to see that there’s a reminder there. :-)
Michelle@Peachy Palate says
I go through notebooks like nobodies business…I have a workout one and a general one which is made up mainly of recipe ideas and mini to do lists. It’s quite messy as opposed to being a means of being organised though it does help me to keep track my thoughts!
Maria says
They sell boom chicka pop at Costco and I consumed a Costco sized bag ridiculously fast. Enjoy!
Luci says
That popcorn is so good! It is addicting though, we killed a bag in the office in one afternoon.
Emily says
That planner is sooo cute! My husband always jokes that I carry multiple notebooks in my purse cause I always have my planner plus a cute little notebook for ideas. As much as I love my iPhone, I can’t ditch my paper planner! I’m weird, but I like being able to make a good old fashion list ;)
Katie @ Talk Less, Say More says
That organizer is AWESOME! While I often use my phone/computer calendar to keep track of my work hours, appointments and meetings, I still use a notebook to plan meals, blog posts, my to-do list and plan/track workouts. Having it all in one book would probably be different that the 3 I’m currently using…(no joke!) ;)
Megan S. says
Oh man that organizer seems awesome! I love using all the tools..I don’t know why but I’m definitely a scheduler, though I like to think I’m not too Type A where if something doesn’t go my way I freak out.
Allison says
I am a huge organizer and planner. I’m probably one of the few that lives using an old school planner and/or notebook. I’m always paranoid my phone or iPad will crash and I’lllose all my lists and be completely lost!
Angela @ Health's Angel says
Ahhhh, that is so cool! I love a good planner. I used to be a lot better at organization during college. Got get back into it now that I’m in the “real” world. ;)
Lindsay says
I am definitely an organized person. I use a planner every day and would feel totally lost without it. I’ve tried to use a phone/ipad organizer, but I like to see it all written out in front of me.
Erica @ For the Sake of Cake says
I LOVE that planner! I actually just bought a new planner because the one I originally got for this year just wasn’t cutting it. I wish I would’ve seen this LAST week, but I might just have to break down and get one anyway!
Sarah@makingthymeforhealth says
That organizer looks great! I like to use handwritten planners and lists over smart phones. I guess that makes me old school.
Natalie @ Free Range Human says
I love making lists, but usually I have ten going in various places. This would be perfect!
Danielle@cleanfoodcreativefitness says
Love that organizer book! I’m such an organization freak and love lists and calendars so that would be right up my alley!
Annette@FitnessPerks says
WHat a cool organizer! I too love all the bright colors-sooo fun!
Danica @ It's Progression says
You’re going to love that popcorn. It’s super good.

She is SO SWEET! She sent me goodies too! I have the same planner, I love it! She is a beautiful person for sure, very sweet! <3
Linz @ Itz Linz says
Before my iPhone, I swore by my paper planner. It actually took me awhile to convert to using my calendar on my phone, but now I live by it. But I do love journals, I just am not very consistent with them. I love the idea of this!
Katie @ Skinny Minnie Moves says
Courtney,
You are talking to the queen of OCD organization! I make SEVERAL lists everyday. I have white boards, I write things in notepads, and on my smart phone. I LOVE LISTS! It’s an obsession of mine. I like multi colored markers too lol. But at work I will make lists on my smart phone of things I need to do at home. I also keep track of my workouts on my phone.
<3 organization!
Katy says
I try sooo hard to be organized. I am very organized at work, but my apartment tends to be a mess! I am a huge fan of color coordinating and labeling things.
Hannah @ CleanEatingVeggieGirl says
That popcorn looks super good. I am a huge fan of popcorn so it is no surprise that I am so intrigued by it. I just won that exact flavor in a giveaway recently and I CANNOT WAIT to get it! :)
Avery @ Southern Belle Living Well says
I always start out super organized (school supplies buying is THE BEST) but after a while it’s gets kinda…disheveled. Oops?
Lauren says
Okay I NEED this organizer in my life. I think this is about the best invention ever. Thanks for sharing!
Khushboo says
I’m an organiser junkie but the 21st century has gotten the best of me- everything is on my iPhone/laptop! I actually bought a diary at the start of the year but all that handwriting lasted a grand ol’ 2 days!
Madison @ Pilates Makes You Happy says
That popcorn looks amazing! I had some when I was down in Chicago..but haven’t found it anywhere else! Jealous.
Jessica @ Prayers and Apples says
I am a total organzier-using junkie! I seriously used to wait all summer just to go school supply shopping lol I love all her bright colors and cute fonts! I think I’m going to have to invest ;)
Karen says
I love organizers and keep one in my purse or work bag as I like to keep track of what is going on but I am also obsessed with my calendar on my iphone. Since my phone is always with me, it’s the smartest choice. Hope you have a great weekend!
Tara | Treble in the Kitchen says
I live my life by writing in and color coding my planner. I don’t know what I would do without it. I haven’t even attempted to go paperless with my planner, because the act of writing something down and highlighting it kind of engrains it in my head!!
Breanna says
Ok if you haven’t tried that Boom Chica Pop yet you are in for a great surprise. It is so yummy. We’ve tried all kinds of “healthy” popcorn and this one is HANDS DOWN the best one. It’s got a great level of salt and it’s light and I can eat one serving and still feel like I’ve had an awesome snack. I love it!
Courtney says
Oooo, I’m excited now…I’m a newbie!!
Janice says
That planner looks awesome! I wish i knew about this before I ordered my 2013 Erin Condren! I will keep it on my radar for 2014! :)
Gina @ Health, Love, and Chocolate says
That is such a cute planner! I am an electronic girl myself, and have pretty much my entire life in my iCalendar, but if I wasn’t I would definitely buy a pretty and girly organizer.
Bek @ Crave says
I ordered a personalised planner that I can’t wait to get :)
Megan says
Thank you so much for posting the info on the organizer. My Mom who I have been trying to convert to healthier eating for the past few years, has breast cancer now and had to see a nutrionist who back me up on everything I was telling her! (yeah)However its hard for her to remember everything with so much information piling on, this looks great! Thank you!!!
