FitnessGlo–It Works During Pregnancy Too! {Giveaway CLOSED}

Over the past few weeks, I’ve had the opportunity to try out a new-to-me site called FitnessGlo, through my partnership with FitFluential. (Disclaimer: Yep, this is a sponsored post, but all opinions expressed are my own, as always. I think you’ll see that below.)

When I was first offered the opportunity to try out the site, I was hesitant to accept. Considering the fact that I’m currently sporting my third trimester baby bump, I wasn’t quite sure if this would be a partnership that would even be worthwhile for me.

So the first thing I did was take a quick walk through the site. FitnessGlo is a site created for women, by women, and was designed keeping all of us busy ladies in mind, to be able to sneak in a workout here or there in our busy schedules. Most of the classes are shorter in length; many are between 10-30 minutes, with a few closer to the 45 minute mark.

Immediately, I also noticed that the site offers a wide variety of workouts, ranging from HIIT (not my thang these days) to strength and balance (more my style!).

So after seeing that there was more than just high intensity workouts to be offered, I continued to dig a little deeper into the site. The next thing I noticed, and very much appreciated, was how the site allows you to search for various workout videos by level:

As humbling as it was, it didn’t take me long to discover (after trying out a few of the videos) that I am most definitely a level 1…very rarely a level 2. But hey, that’s okay…I’ll get back to it one of these days.

Some of the videos I was most looking forward to trying out were those by Ilyse Baker, who I had the opportunity to shake my boo-tay with when I visited Reebok HQ last year. Unfortunately, most of her videos were a bit too high intensity for me, so I’m keeping those in mind for later on down the road.

The good news, however, is that there was no shortage of workouts that were suitable for my fitness level during the third trimester of my pregnancy! (remember, everyone is different though, so be sure to check with a doc)

When looking to try out a new workout, I often spent a couple of minutes previewing it to make sure it was something I thought I could do. If it looked doable, I added it to my Favorites tab.

There were a couple of videos (in the above photo, top middle and bottom left) that I thought I’d be able to just make some modifications to as I went along, but wound up having to nix them because it just wasn’t working.

Since I took the time to really find a few workouts that I enjoy, it’s been so easy to go back to them since I already have them saved. Two of my current favorites are below:

And I will be straight-up honest with you…I sweat more during these level 1 workouts than I have for the majority of my pregnancy. Don’t get me wrong…I’ve been loving my prenatal workouts (especially Pilates), but I cannot tell you how GOOD it felt to really work up a sweat.

So when I tell you that I really, truly love this website right now, I’m not playing around. The site is fantastic, and I love how I not only have some awesome workouts to keep me moving at 33 weeks pregnant…but how there’s also a TON of others that I’ll be able to try a few months from now.

I would be SO excited to win this 90 day membership because I recently found out I have three stress fractures in my shin!     I never thought I would be much of a workout-video-er type… but with my odd hours at work, I miss many of the group fitness classes I once took at the gym. When I go to the gym in the morning, I play around and make up my own HITT workouts. Some days= good. Other days I don’t get much accomplished. I think it’d be fun to throw in some videos!

    FitnessGlo sounds like an amazing website. Currently, I’m going to Zumba classes, but there are days when either the studio is closed or I’d rather just workout in the comfort of my own home. FitnessGlo sounds like a great way to get an effective workout in my own living room. I love the fact that I’d have the opportunity to try different routines with different instructors, so I don’t get bored, and it would allow me to find the perfect exercise routine for my energy level that day.

    Ever since I got married in November and started a new job in March, I have been trying to find a balance in my workout schedule so that I can still spend time at home with my husband and pup without feeling like I’m ditching out on the gym.     I am going to be a bridesmaid in two months for a very dear friend of mine, that I have known since 7th grade. I ordered my dress about a year ago, to fit the size I was then, put it away and then didn’t even think about it until a few days ago. Ove the course of the last year, I have been fighting medical issues, and was required to take some time off from exercising, to allow my body recovery time. Anyway, a few days ago, I tried on the dress and it was only able to zip up halfway. I need to lose a few inches in the next couple months. (Doctor HAS given me the go-ahead for exercising again) I’ve started running intervals on my treadmill at home, but I could really use something else to throw in with my cardio, to keep boredom from striking!

After the semester ended, my class was over. I stopped working out as much and I can feel everything I worked for couch-potatoing away.       We actually have a special HDMI cable that plugs into the TV and the computer which allows the computer screen to show up on the computer. My husband hooked it up initially but now we just keep it behind the TV plugged in, so whenever I need it, I just plug it into my computer!     I’ve always been a home workout person. But since I use many different sources (DVDs, YouTube, XBox), my workouts are not well-planned and I waste time in deciding which option to go for. The free 90-day membership will be a great blessing as I look forward to it being my 1-stop-shop for all my workouts!

    My gym membership runs out soon and I don’t think I want to renew it since it is summer right now and prefer going outside for running. I would love to have this to change things up a bit. It would still be like going to class at the gym or having your own personal trainer come to you!

I use to belong to a few different gyms years ago, but ever since I started running I made the switch to running outside and working out at home with no memberships. I use to love the Exercise TV website, but they no longer have the free workouts available as they use to.     I try to make it to the gym as much as I can, but my gym is a bit far from my house and is really tough to get to during rush hour. I’d love to try FitnessGlo because the service would give me a great reason to skip the gym and just work out at home instead! Not commuting to and from the gym would also save me a ton of time, and time is very valuable to me during the work week. :)

    I have worked really hard to lose over a 130 pounds. I now personally live exercise but lately my schedule keeps changing making it difficult to fit in all my the workouts I want. I have never been a big work out at home person but I realize that I am going to have to do it a lot more to continue my weight loss and maintain my goals.     I am in desperate need of this trial! I am a 29 year old, currently unemployed wife, who lately has been making fitness and health my top priority. This is absolutely neccesarry for me because of a chronic back condition that used to keep me bed ridden. I became so tired of putting on weight, eating junk, and not exercising that I’d finally had enough!! I said to myself “self, today you’re gonna start getting healthy!”. I made getting healthy my goal and started researching exercises and clean eating online. I currently walk 5-6 days a week (1-3 miles a day) and have recently started incorporating other workouts into my routine. The problem is I’m havin trouble finding ones I can do at my level of fitness. I’ve lost almost 60 pounds total but I am still trying to get my stamina and strength up (which are frighteningly low due to my back). If I win I promise to give 110% and to stick with it. If really love this opportunity!!
