Fun Facts Friday {8/16}

1. The amount of peanut butter I have been eating lately is insane. Four out of the past five days have included a classic PB&J sandwich for lunch, and occasionally I also wind up having it for breakfast too with banana. Can’t. Get. Enough.

2. I started filling out Lucas’s baby book this week while I should have been napping, which was really fun!

No, that is not Lucas on the cover yet. I actually need to print some of these hundreds of pictures I’ve been taking.

I figured I should probably start filling out some of it now while things are still fresh in my memory!

3. I wound up watching Live with Kelly & Michael a few times this week in the mornings and Maria Menounos has been on guest hosting for Kelly. All I can say is, I want her hair. In a bad way.

4. Speaking of hair, I’m FINALLY getting a haircut today. It ended up growing wayyyy long and it’s about time to get a good trim…especially since Lucas likes grabbing on to it while he’s feeding. So that means we’ll be heading over to my mom’s later today, and after my haircut? I’m leaving Lucas with grandma for an hour or two and going to treat myself to a pedicure. I am SO excited (and hoping it goes as smoothly as I plan).

5. Meals have been so hit or miss these days. Sometimes, I get time to make a things like a salad…other times, I’m grabbing trail mix and quick snack plates like yesterday.

It may have taken me almost an hour and a half to finish it, but I got ‘er done. Winking smile

6. One of my favorite things to see Lucas do right now is stretch after he first wakes up and I un-swaddle him. He makes the funniest face (similar to this one), kicks his legs out as far as they’ll go, and stretches his arms way above his head. Makes me smile every single time.

7. Another favorite thing about Lucas? When he falls asleep on me, whether it’s in my lap after a feeding…

Or just on my chest while cuddling.

I put off my dinner by about 45 minutes that night just because I didn’t want to move him. That alone is true love…I don’t neglect food for just anyone. Winking smile

9. So, I’ve become hooked on the new show Mistresses on ABC. At first, Jay was like “why do you watch that garbage?” But now, guess who watches it with me and asks questions about what’s going on…

10. This weekend is supposed to be GORGEOUS and I am soooo excited about it. Hopefully with Jay home, we’ll get a few more chances to get outside more. It’s crazy how quickly the days go by lately…I’ll say “yes, we’ll go for a walk a little later!” and then before I know it, it’s dinner time and we never made it out. An extra set of hands should help that one. Smile

Happy FRIDAY everyone! Make it a great one!!

Peanut butter sandwiches, bananas and chocolate milk were my FAVORITE things to eat both during my pregnancy and while nursing. I guess because they were quick, comforting and satisfying. YES – fill out that baby book now. Write down little details and all the little firsts. I quit writing in my son’s when he was 4 months old and now he is already 4 years old! My 7 yr old daughter LOVES to hear stories about when she was a baby, getting out her baby book reminds me of little things like how I could tell she was sleepy, hungry or wanting to play.

The first couple of weeks of Addie’s life, she slept best on someone’s chest. So we all (meaning me, Brandon, and the family that was visiting us) took turns letting her lay on us for hours. Sadly, that only lasted a couple of weeks. Now it’s very rare for her to fall asleep on me! Enjoy it! ;)

I’m so impressed at that baby book! I know Lucas will love it when he’s old enough. My mom, like you, did a fantastic job with my baby book and I love flipping through all of the pictures and stories. Congratulations on making it through these first few weeks!

You have such nice handwriting! I love that you are making a baby book for Lucas. I think he will love looking back at it when he is older. I am definitely going to do that when we have a baby. I think it’s special. :)

I totally watch Mistresses too!! I want to know who the father of Savi’s baby is so bad!!

I feel you on the days flying! Sometimes I feel like we just got going and it’s already 1pm (and we have been up since 7am), then dad is home, dinner is eaten, and all the sudden its the last feeding and bedtime!

So glad you are getting some “me” time. Enjoy that pedi!!! It’s so important and refreshing to just take a little time out whenever you can. Living in Australia, I am pretty much on my own all day/every day with my little guy; it can be really tough sometimes. I’m back in Canada for a few weeks and taking full advantage of the grandparents! hahah

Those baby books are seriously the sweetest things. I wish they had been more popular when I was born because I would have loved to be able to go back and read all the details surrounding my tiny newborn life. And speaking of newborns… Lucas is -such- a cutie, and you’re looking absolutely gorgeous. Happy Friday, Courtney!

Maria’s hair the second time she was on the show made me EXTREMELY jealous. It did the nice little wave in the front and fell down to perfect curls. Her coloring is SPOT ON, too. I love it. I’m glad you’re becoming addicted to this show as much as I am… I never go a day without it ;)

I don’t think I can go a day without some type of nut butter so I feel ya there, girl! Never knew that Jif made the to-go PB in natural- now I’m going to be on the hunt for those. So much easier than transferring PB into a tupperware to take to work!

Aww, I think it’s sweet that you are taking time to fill out Lucas’s baby book. I’m sure he will love reading it when he’s older! He is just adorable – especially when he is sleeping =) I hope you have a great time out getting your pedicure and haircut as well some nice time out of the house during the weekend =)

I’m in the same boat with my hair. It’s not been cut since I was 30ish weeks pregnant (my daughter is 8 weeks now), and the ends are so dry. My appointment is tomorrow – I’m particularly excited for the head massage :)
    Have a good weekend!

Hey Courtney! I’m so happy to read your fun facts and see that all is well with you and your son! I had a random question, have you read/tried Baby Wise? I am expecting my first baby in 7 weeks, and wondered how well this method worked for new moms. Hope you have a great weekend!

Can I just say that you have really nice handwriting? You really do! Have a great weekend with your family.

First off your beautiful baby boy is amazing! My little guy turns 1 next weekend so I am really swooning over your pictures. How fast they grow! Second, the peanut butter addiction has reappeared here as well! I am all about a PB Banana or PBJ for breakfast and one for lunch as well. Nothing wrong with a little protein! Third, kudos on the baby book. My first born’s is completely filled out. My son…well yeah no. Happy weekending!
