Fun Facts Friday {9/27}

1. FOUR nights in a row this week…homemade dinner done and on the table. I am sooo impressed with ourselves.

Clockwise, from top left: Beef and sweet potato stew (recipe to come!), crispy baked cod, an amazing grilled sirloin courtesy of Jay, and homemade (healthier) eggplant parmesan. If only we could be this good every week.

2. Lucas and I had ourselves a nice little outing to Target yesterday. Also came across a few yummy looking goods…

I did buy one of those items…any guesses which one made it into my cart? Winking smile

3. Have you guys seen this video yet of Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake? #ohmygod If you haven’t watched it, please do it. #youwontregretit

4. Speaking of videos…I got this little gem last night while we were all having family time.

Lucas looooves playing “airplane” with Jay, and I just love watching them. Heck, I just love our little family to pieces. All four of us (yep, even Cody!) spent some time just hanging out on the couch last night.

Love, love, love.

5. Can somebody bring me a box of tissues? I still can’t believe my little baby boy is 2 months old today.

I’ve been pretty emotional the last couple of days, partly due to the fact that he’s just getting so big so quick. This weekend, I’m going to have to start packing up most of Lucas’s newborn clothes, as they’re all getting a bit snug on that growing belly of his!

Seeing as it’s his 2 month “birthday” today, that also means that we’ve got an appointment for his 2 month immunizations. Mommy is NOT looking forward to that. Again…anyone have a box of tissues?

6. Yesterday, I finished putting up all of my favorite fall decorations. It’s looking nice and festive around here!

7. I also painted my nails yesterday for the first time in who knows how long. Definitely months.

I picked this up at Target yesterday, too. Totally loving the color (Smokin’ Hot).

8. As long as Mr. Lucas is feeling okay tomorrow after his shots, Jay and I have our first real “date night” planned and leaving Lucas at home with his grandma. I am so, so excited for a few hours out with the hubby.

9. Talk about giveaways this week, huh? Remember, you can still enter the LaMaLu giveaway up until Monday, but the winner of the Babies”R”Us giveaway has been chosen! Congrats to entry #331 – Laura J!

Congrats, Laura! Please email me at sweettoothcourtney at gmail dot com so we can get you your gift card.

10. That’s all I’ve got for today…wish us luck at the doctor today!

Have a great weekend, friends. xoxo Smile

Haha, we totally go back and forth! Some days, we swear he’ll like more like one of us than the other, then it changes :)

I’m going to guess that you bought the S’mores Clif Kids Z Bars. I would have! You are the one that introduced me to them :-). But that’s tough because I see Pumpkin Spice M&M’s. Maybe you bought all of the above?

I’ve seen the video and it made me feel like a tool for how much I use hashtags :-)

      Haha I alllllmost bought the Z bars…but I went M&M’s
(and will probably go back for the Z bars within the next week) 😉

  2. says

Happy 2 months to Lucas! He’s such a cutie!

I don’t have a baby and I still have trouble getting 4 homemade meals on the table during the week. Haha! Go you!

And any tips on how to paint your nails without making them look like you painted them at home?! Yours look really good.

    • Courtney says

Aww, thanks! Haha, no tips really…I’ve been blessed with a fairly steady hand. 😉 But for big messes, I’ll usually dip a Q-tip in polish remover and just rub along the cuticles.

They really do grow up way too fast, don’t they? I think I was depressed for a week or two when Hunter passed the “newborn phase”… And now he’ll be 6 months on Saturday, and it brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it. As excited as I am about new developments and phases, it also makes me sad to think that he’ll never be itty bitty again!

Love, love, love your nails! Pretty color!

The two months have gone by so fast. He looks so cute in his “suite and tie”. :)
Loving that Jimmy and JT Hashtag video, it’s so funny!! #mustwatch #lovethemboth, lol. Hope the shots go well today. I always found that a little baby Advil worked well before the shots. Helps with fussiness and fever. Good Luck.

Congrats on making dinner 4 times, I know how difficult that is with a newborn! Good luck with the shots today and hooray for vaccinations! When my son got his we ended up giving him baby Tylenol which really helped with his fussiness. He also slept a lot, which was kinda nice. Have a great weekend!

  6. says

Good luck at the doctor to both of you 😉 The pumpkin spice M&Ms are THE BEST. We all know those are the ones you chose, I mean… Who wouldn’t? 😉 I love the Essie nail color! I got the dark green but this was the one I was choosing between. I might go have to pick it up!

  7. says

I’m totally with you on babies getting too big too fast!!! I want to cry about the fact that the girls are a month old on Sunday.

John and I are having our first date night tomorrow too! I can’t wait to have a glass of wine. I am so so excited about it!

  8. Jessica says

I hope you didn’t buy the pumpkin spice M&M’s because I bought them and they are not great. There is not much for pumpkin flavor at all. And don’t buy the candy corn M&M’s they are way too sweet!

    • Courtney says

Oh noooo, don’t tell me that!! :(
But I do agree with you on the candy corn ones…I bought them last year and definitely was not much of a fan.

  9. Crystal D. says

Lucas is sooo darn cute and I love the video of him playing airplane with daddy! Love that smile! Good luck at the dr. today. My son has his 6 month check up this afternoon and he is also getting some shots. Poor little guys!! I cried when he got his first shots. I actually cried more than he did. And if we are being honest here I still cry more than he does with his shots. He is a tough little cookie and I am just a big wimp!! Good luck and have that box of tissues ready! I know I am going to have mine ready! :)

  10. april says

happy 2 months to lucas! i just love the picture of him sitting in the chair with the monkey that’s as big as him =)

have fun on your date night!!

  11. says

I actually bought BOTH the Zbars and the m&ms yesterday at Target! lol That video is hysterical #iLoveJustinT! And that’s a great fall polish color!! Your son is adorable and time TOTALLY flies….my ‘baby’ just turned 4! He will be fine after the shots – they hurt you more than they hurt him – Enjoy your night out (you deserve it!!)

Love the nail polish, possibly obsessed with Essie and I definitely have that color and its so perfect for fall. The video of Lucas is just adorable, especially that huge smile at the end. And good luck at the doctors! As someone who pretty much grew up, and still spends almost all her time, in a pediatricians office I have seen many babies getting their shots. Yes, I’ll admit, sometimes there is a bit of screaming (parents, baby, who can tell?) but when they come back to check out they are usually calmer. So it may be really hard for a little bit of time, but then your happy guy will hopefully bounce right back! :-)

Waiiiit… Already two months?! It feels like four weeks ago that you announce your birth and labor, ha ha. And its def. an emotional time when they go through these stages around two and three months. My Selah is a little over three months already and she’s changing so much!!! Let’s cry together Courtney. ;P I hope the appointment goes well which I’m pretty sure it will. The fact that you stand next to him and hold them right back up after the shot will soothe him immediately! <3

Cooking with a newborn is so impressive! I can’t even cook for myself and I have zero kids hahaha. I’m always too exhausted once I get home.

Loved the little smile from Lucas at the end of the video, and I need to find those MandM’s…definitely a mission for the weekend ;). Have a great weekend!!
