Okay. Forgive me guys, as I sort of freak out for a hot second. I still can’t believe that I’m leaving for Montana tomorrow. Tomorrow. (In case you missed my previous post, I’m going Glamping with Skinny Cow!)
And check out this sweet bag they sent me yesterday. Super cute, right?!
By the way, if you haven’t checked out their ice cream and candy yet, you’ve gotta promise me that you will. Jay and I have been lovin’ us some ice cream bars and chocolate candies…especially the caramel filled milk chocolates. Mmm mmmmm.
Lucas tried to get in on the action too. I told him maybe next year.
But anyways…once I got home from work yesterday, I figured I should probably take a little time to work on that whole packing thing. Especially since I’m, ohh I don’t know, probably the worst packer ever. Seriously, I’m not kidding.
At any rate, I have two minor challenges I’m facing with packing/prepping for my quickly approaching trip:
- I need (want) to avoid checking any luggage (I know, I’m laughing too)
- I need to figure out how to best pack up the ol’ breastpump (blahhh)
If I can get past those two things, I’m golden. By the way, if anyone has any tips or suggestions on traveling with a pump (can I consider it an extra carry-on or does it need to be shoved into my only carry-on?) I’m all ears.
So I started putting together a few items to tackle the Glamping weekend. I figured maybe it’d be best to pack in terms of what “glamping” is (Glamour + Camping) so I divided them into piles.
Glamour…which, okay, I’m really not all that glamorous so take that with a grain of salt (hey, do some of those items look familiar??).
And camping…I figured that workout-type clothing would be best for our outdoor activities and any workouts that are gonna happen.
Or just for sitting by the fire making s’mores. Mmmm, I can’t wait to make s’mores.
Of course, the packing list also included some of this…
Because plane rides and me don’t always mix too well.
But ultimately, I think I’ve got just about all of my essentials semi-packed and almost ready to go!
I swear, I’m getting more excited by the second and cannot wait to experience this whole glamping thing firsthand at the Paws Up Resort. And equally, if not more exciting? I’m bringing along my blog bestie, Chelsey, and we’ll FINALLY be meeting in person for the first time! It’s gonna be such a blast!
We’ve both said that if there was ever any sort of camping out there for us, this would most definitely be it. I’m already picturing sitting by a campfire in my stilettos (just kidding, there will be no stilettos), glass of wine in one hand, s’more in the other. It really is the perfect way to have it all.
Just like Skinny Cow, my friends…healthy & indulgent, tastes amazing, and all with lower calories. Score!

I would have no clue what to take Glamping, ha! But it does sound like fun. I’d really love Glamping if it included a room filled with Skinny Cow treats! And some wine ;)

As for traveling with the pump – I don’t have any personal experience, but here is a blog post from an awesome mom who travels a lot (and often had a pump in tow). It’s a little long but I hope it might have some useful information for you. Have fun!!

Hi There! I recently traveled with a pump. It is considered a medical device, meaning it does NOT count as your personal OR carry on! Basically, you can have three carry on items-pump included. Depending on the airport security, they may or may not want to you take the pump out for inspection (large airports will not ask you to take it out). Hope that helps!
Angie @ Pint of Goals says
I was going to say what your reader Stephanie just wrote – a pump is a medical device and doesn’t count as a carry on. Also, I found it easier to take the motor out of the bag and put it in my over-sized purse. I put all the tubes and parts in a gallon size plastic bag and kept that in my purse too. Don’t forget a battery pack, extra batteries and hand sanitizer.
Have fun on your trip!

I have a daughter the same age as Lucas and I’ve taken a few business trips with my pump. I have a Medela Pump In Style – the handbag type. So I pack that full of all my pump parts, etc. as well as everything I would normally put in a purse. It’s a really tight squeeze, but it’s worth it so that I don’t have to have 3 carry ons. I’ve never had my pump inspected at security, but I always tell them what it is before putting it through the conveyor. You can also bring as many ice packs as you want since they’re for a “medical” use. On my return flight, I always bring back a couple insulated lunch bags filled with milk and ice packs. I put those in my carry on suitcase and just take them out to be inspected at security. It also saves space to pump into storage bags instead of bottles. Before I took my first trip all of these logistics seemed really daunting, so I’m happy to answer any questions!

Sounds like so much fun! Don’t know if you’ll need it, but don’t forget a bathing suit!?!?! Have a great time!

Hope you have an amazing time! I’m a last minute packer too but I’ve learned to become a pro packer and always fit everything into a carry on luggage. I was in Hawaii for 2 weeks was able to fit everything in a carry on- don’t ask me how I was able to make it happen! lol

I live in Missoula, Montana, about a half hour away from Paws Up–I drive past it and hike around in that area all the time! It is still getting fairly cool out here at night (30s-40s), so if you think you might be spending any time outside in the evening, be sure to have layers handy, and maybe even a hat and lightweight gloves.
I hope you have some nice wildlife sightings–there is a herd of elk that hangs out near Paws Up. So keep your camera at the ready! Hope you enjoy!

I am soooo jealous of this trip and can’t wait to hear all about it! Hope you have a blast :)

Have fun!!!
I’ve travelled with a pump before and it’s not considered a personal item or carry-on, so you can bring it along separate! (so 3 diff carry-ons)
