1. I got so much positive feedback from you guys on this week’s WIAW post with featuring Lucas’s eats as well. Thank you! I didn’t realize so many of you would be interested in ideas for his meals?! If a toddler meals thing something you’d like to see more of down the road, I can certainly work on making that happen. You let me know!
2. Ughh…that damn sickness I had been trying to avoid for a good week finally reared its ugly face. Blech. And I hate the saying “just a cold” because, yeah, it may be just a cold. But it still sucks. I had to take a sick day from work on Tuesday, which allowed me to get a little extra rest.
Luckily, this one seems to be on the up and up, thanks to some extra rest, lots of fluids, and some Emergen-C. Now we just need to get Lucas’s boogers dried up…
3. Have you guys come across this BuzzFeed video about Weird Things All Couples Fight About? HILARIOUS. And I’m pretty sure Jay and I can relate to about 99% of what’s addressed on there. Any other couples out there relate??
4. Although the workout front has been stalled a bit this past week with being sick, I’ve got to tell you guys how much I’ve been loving my Reebok One Cushion sneakers.
I’ve been a Reebok Nano girl, but after I received these from my trip to IDEA World, I figured I’d give them a shot. Love. Them. If you’re in the market for a new pair, I’d definitely recommend checking them out. PLUS, you can use my referral link to get $20 off the Reebok ONE Series. Just click here to get your discount!
5. I totally forgot to mention this last week, but thank you all so much for the feedback and tips after my posting about Keratosis Pilaris. I’m not gonna lie…it was nice to hear from some more of you who also deal with the crappy skin condition. Now we can all commiserate together! Then again, I am planning on trying a couple of your tips so hopefully I’ll have some more positive experiences to share.
6. We had another delicious dinner over here this week thanks to Cooking Light magazine: Broccoli Quinoa Casserole with Chicken and Cheddar.
Lucas was a big fan of this one too, FYI!
7. I’m almost out of my Justin’s Vanilla Almond Butter, so I placed a new order yesterday through iHerb (<- affiliate link!).
As I was browsing through the site, I ended up getting a few things for Lucas, since they actually have a good amount of snacks and whatnot for the kiddos, too. The Plum Organics line is a favorite of ours, and they actually had some really cute bath toys, too. (As a reminder, you can use my coupon code, SAZ564, to get $10 off your first order of $40 or more!)
8. I think I need a haircut. Or just an update, of some sort. I realized the other day that I haven’t had it trimmed since I chopped it back in December, I think it was? But I think it’s about time to add a bit of an angle back in the front and maybe some long layers. Ooo, and maybe a color update, too. Hmmm…
9. Did you guys know that the third challenge has started for the Oster Versa 1100 Challenge? This challenge recipe is for a Fiery Red Salsa which is outrageously easy and super delish.
Be sure to check out the recipe and enter to win!
10. Okay, sooooo, T25 gamma phase? Holy CRAP. And I’ve only done ONE of the four workouts that come in this phase, thanks to this whole being sick thing. The Speed 3.0 video was the one I tried and wow…So. Many. Burpees.
11. So cutest thing EVER. My parents have always read my blog here and there. My mom more than my dad, usually. But lately, my dad has been checking in on his lunch hour. And not only that, but he’s also started leaving comments for me. So if you ever see a comment in the comment section from “Papa B,” feel free to say “Hi!”
12. Thanks so much to all of you who entered the Calphalon giveaway! The lucky winner is…entry #188: Laura!
Congrats, Laura! Please email me at sweettoothcourtney at gmail dot com so I know where to ship your goods to!
P.S. – I posted the recipe for the pizza dough and BBQ chicken pizza last night! Be sure to check it out.
Alright, that’s all I’ve got for today! What’s up for the weekend, my friends? I’m hoping I’ll be feeling back to my normal self, but until then, we’re keeping plans low key for now.
Kim@FITsique says
Oh no! I’m so sorry you are sick! Take care of yourself and get to feeling better soon. That casserole looks delicious, I have made up some of my own that look similar to that recipe but I am interested to try that one now! Don’t even get me started about hair..I think my roots are down to my ears now :( I don’t know why I always put it off for so long because I love getting it done!? weird. I have been thinking about going shorter with my hair but am nervous to bite the bullet.
Shel@PeachyPalate says
Hope you feel better soon! The casserole looks beautiful!!! New season…new hair cut/colour..definitely!
Brynn says

Good Morning, I would am currently looking for a new pair of shoes and would love to try Reebok’s. When I clicked on your discount offer it went to an error page… Please help haha. Thanks!!
Courtney says
I just realized that…so sorry! I just emailed them to see if they can figure out what’s going on. If they get it fixed, I’ll be sure to notify you! :)
Emily says
I made the same exact Cooking Light recipe last night (and will be enjoying the leftovers for lunch today). Rick and I both agreed to add it to our rotation :)
Melissa @ Freeing Imperfections says
That’s the pits about being sick. I got “just a cold” a few weeks back, and if I hadn’t gotten it over Labor Day weekend I would have had to take work off too. It was killer!
That’s really cute about your dad :)
Beks says
I’ve got you beat on the hair cut front. It’s been *literally* over two years since my last one. Not a trim, not a color, not a conditioning treatment. Nothing. I went to a local Great Clips, got quoted a price, but the woman who cut my hair doubled the price, and wouldn’t relent. She also ignored me through most of it. I’m just impressed it turned out okay, since she obviously didn’t care what I had to say. I suppose that’s what I get for trying some place new? Back to the old salon with wonky hours. At least they care.
Courtney says
Oh gosh, what a bummer! Hopefully you find a new one soon! :)
Stacie @ SimplySouthernStacie says
Your dad is precious! My mom occasionally comments on mine, but she normally leaves a whole novel in her comment : )
julie says
Hope you feel better soon! We all have colds at our house too, so you definitely have company :)
The quinoa recipe looks great, but every time i try a recipe with quinoa we all have intestinal issues the next day… ya know what i mean? Are we the only ones? (On the bright side though, i know what to eat if i ever have the opposite problem!)
Courtney says
I actually used to have some discomfort after eating quinoa which is why I cut back on it…but it didn’t seem to bother me this time around?!
Britt@MyOwnBalance says
Oh my gosh that video is hilarious! We definitely fight over those things. Haha! Happy almost weekend and feel better soon!
Holly @ EatGreatBEGreat says
Ugh, colds are the worst! I hope you feel better soon!
Mmmm…I definitely need to check out that quinoa casserole recipe! I’m looking for meals I can prepare ahead of time and freeze before the babies are born, so I’m thinking that one will work out perfectly. Thanks for mentioning it!
Ashley @ My Food 'N' Fitness Diaries says
Hahaha, yes to that article. I swear we have a conversation about the toilet paper every single time it needs to get changed.
I realized I have the same thing on my arms too. I just never knew it had a name! I need to go back to the comments and see what tips people have for it.
And YES, I love my Reebok One Cushions! I need to get a new pair soon…may look into that discount! thanks for sharing.
Ashley @ My Food 'N' Fitness Diaries says
P.S. I just tried that link you gave for the discount on the Reeboks and it says it’s invalid. :(
Rochelle says
I was just gonna let her know, too! I wanna check those babies out!!! ;-) And discounts are always nice
Courtney says

Auror@Fitness is Sweet says
Oooh I saw that quinoa recipe in the Cooking Light magazine and wanted to make it! I’m glad to hear that it’s as good as it looks!
Kris says
I’ve seen that video and it is hilarious and so spot on!! The whole where do you want to go out to eat is a regular in our house especially when you factor in our 12 yr old!
I will have to check out those shoes because I need a general workout shoe since I started taking a cardio & strength class. Which BTW kicks my arse! Think sweat rolling off my face which I’ve never encountered before! Plus I need them in case I take the occasional Zumba class again. Thanks for the discount code!
Alex @ Get Big, Go To Work says
Hopefully a lot of relaxation and make a log Sunday walk at a local park. A dinner date out sounds nice too.
Anita says
I just watched that video of the couple fighting, and my boyfriend and I couldn’t stop laughing! Let’s talk about the toilet paper debate, though… ;)
