Well, today was not an easy one to get up for, I’ll tell ya that much!
Last night, we had our company party and it was a great time. It’s always so much fun to catch up with everyone who works in other states or countries! The night went fairly late, and by the time I made the drive home, I was zonked. I’d say tonight is going to be an early bed time, but it’s actually Girls’ Night and we have plans to meet up at Bombers for dinner later (one of my favorite spots!).
Anywho…let’s talk about carbs for a hot sec. Because, you know, I’m madly in love with them. And honestly, come winter and these god-awful frigid temps, all I want are carbs. Warm, crusty breads, flaky, buttery biscuits, and sweet, succulent scones is where it’s at. Oh, the love is real.
For example, my Cinnamon Chip Scones? Absolutely a favorite…
And imagine my surprise when I came across a bag of cinnamon chips in the cabinet the other day. SCORE!
Oh, and my Cheesy Italian Quick Bread? One of the most-made recipes to go with soups and stews in this house (and I know many if you love it, too!)
And, actually, did you guys know there’s a Sun-Dried Tomato and Mozzarella version, too? So. friggin. good.
In case you guys are anything like me and also looking for some extra carbs in your life (do I not sound “anti healthy-living blog or what?! pshhh, whatever) I put together this nice little collection of 15 Scrumptious Bread, Biscuit, and Scone Recipes, thanks to Foodie! I’d say probably 3/4 of the recipes are from Yours Truly, and the rest are a couple of my favorites…

I was FINALLY able to get my hands on some of those cinnamon chips, so I’d love to try making those scones. They just look so delicious and would pair perfectly with coffee. I’d also really like to try that sweet cornbread recipe … maybe it’s a good weekend for chili and cornbread. :)

I’m not a baker, so already I’m envious that you not only manage to find the time, but are so skillful at it. This looks amazing. I might have to break out of my non-baker mode and give it a try. I’ve heard that Leah’s Cakery in Round Lake has amazing scones if you’re ever up that way! As always, thanks for making us all hungry for your talented cooking!

Hahaha, loving your disclaimer at the end. ;) That Cheesy Italian Quick Bread of yours remains one of my favorite breads to eat alongside soups and chili! I’m glad you posted it though because I kinda forgot about it!

My hubby and I love your Cheesy Italian Quick Bread! We’re actually making that with your Slow Cooker Vegetable Beef Soup this weekend. One of our favorite cold weather meals. As far as carbs go, I pretty much love them all! I love to bake too, and can’t get enough of muffins and breads. So yummy!
