It’s no secret…we’ve got Valentine’s Day right around the corner! Jay and I typically don’t do much for the holiday, but we do like to enjoy a nice dinner at home. And dessert…of course. Honestly, when I hear Valentine’s Day, my mind immediately goes to the sweets. Is that even normal?
Well this year plans on being no different than the others (except when we had that crazy delicious four-course meal at Creo a couple of years ago!). Most likely, we’ll cook something at home (and avoid restaurants at all costs), and then we’ll have something sweet and decadent for dessert. I’ve been browsing around, trying to find something totally delicious to make, and have a few contenders in mind…so I thought I’d share ’em all with ya! Just take a look at some of these things…
Brownie Heart Cupcakes
Meringue Heart Ice Cream Sandwiches
Conversation Heart Cookies
Ice Cream Cupcakes
Valentine’s Day Strawberries & Cream Puppy Chow
Heart Shaped Dipped Rice Krispies Treats
Cherry Almond Vanilla Cupcakes
Raspberry Devil’s Food Cupcakes with Raspberry Almond Buttercream Frosting
This is probably one of my favorite frosting recipes EVER, FYI!
Red Velvet Oreo Truffle Brownie Bars
White Chocolate Cranberry Candy Crunch
No-Bake Cheesecake Truffles
Red Velvet Ice Cream Cake
I’m actually leaning towards that cake right there…but then I ask myself, do I REALLY need a whole cake in my house? Then again, Valentine’s Day only comes once a year. ;)
How about you guys? What are your thoughts on Valentine’s Day? Buy into it? Hate it? Celebrate it? Like it just for the food? ;)

Wow, it all looks so good! I’m just looking forward to cooking a nice meal at home with my family and ending the night with a piece of delicious Guinness chocolate cake!

Those brownie heart cupcakes look delicious!
This year my boyfriend and I will be going to a Calgary Flames hockey game. They’re playing the Vancouver Canuks. There’s a huge rivalry between the two teams so it’s going to be a great game.

I love the cupcakes topped with a brownie heart idea! So fun.
And when you make the brownies, there’d inevitably be leftover brownie pieces… ;)

Red Velvet Oreo Truffle Brownies… Holy cow.
I love Valentine’s Day, but it is strictly celebrated at home. I avoid restaurants like the plague that day.

I think Valentine’s Day is cute, but mostly it’s just a good excuse to go out on a sushi Date with my bf. And any reason for sushi is a good thing, in my book!

Love it! It’s fun to show your appreciation and affection for others on one special day. And I love the colors, dessert, wine and dressing up it usually involves too! :)

Ice cream cupcakes and Valentine’s Puppy Chow? Yes, please! Now if only someone would make and deliver them to me. My hubby, sadly, has no chance in the kitchen.
