Last week, I received my March Stitch Fix, so you know I have to share it with you all!
In case you’re new to Stitch Fix and how it works, you can read all about it in my first post about the service, HERE.
I actually still have my fix here at home and I need to decide what I’m doing on a few pieces before I wind up sending back my returns tomorrow. I’m sort of on the fence with a few items, so maybe you guys can help me decide?!
FUN2FUN Toronto Bicycle Print Split Neck Top – $48.00
This is a top I’m totally on the fence about. I love the material, I love the fit, and I love how it’ll be perfect for spring into summer (it pairs great with a cardigan). However, I just don’t know if I can get on board with (or even pull off, for that matter) wearing a top with bicycles on it. Part of me feels like Lucas should be wearing it, not me. I really wish it was in a solid color, but even still, I’m on the fence. Maybe?
MARKET & SPRUCE Chaimbers Cowl Neck Knit Top – $48.00
I had a feeling this one was going to be a no as soon as I sneaked a peek at what was coming this month online. Yeah, did you know you can get an idea by going to checkout? I know it totally spoils the surprise, but sometimes I can’t help myself. This shirt was actually sort of similar to the one they sent me back in November…I didn’t like it then, and I still don’t like it now. It just felt like it looked a little too sloppy on me, and I couldn’t get the cowl neck to look right. Return.
LE LIS Berkley Lace Back Knit Top – $44.00
I really liked this top, and I thought the lace detailing on the back was pretty. However, I feel like having it in the black color really sort of hides a lot of the lace. I think if it were a lighter pastel or a cream color, that would really make the lace detailing stand out more. So while I do like this one, I just don’t think I like it enough to keep, especially since the price seemed a little steep, too. Return.
MARKET & SPRUCE Chaplin Hooded Anorak Cargo Jacket – $88.00
I like this jacket, a lot! It’s like nothing I own, and I feel like it would be a fun staple for the wardrobe this spring.
However, I just don’t think I can justify the cost on it, especially since I had just been looking at one recently that was pretty similar for about half the price. And I’ve also got my eye on this super cute rain jacket, too. I also know that I’d probably be too lazy to actually tie the string around the waist and it would just wind up looking too baggy. Maybe Return?
KUT FROM THE KLOTH Denna Skinny Jean – $78.00
I liked these jeans, and the fit was pretty good, but they weren’t quite what I had requested (I wanted a darker wash, but with more of a distressed look like these). Plus, almost the exact same pair (just a different wash) is on sale at Nordstrom right now for half the price.
With spring/summer coming up (I think, right?) I feel like I’d get more wear out of a bit lighter wash, and I’m almost thinking I want to try a pair like these Slim Boyfriend Jeans. I don’t know what it is, but I just love the look of them and how you can dress them up or down.
Sorry, tangent there. But as for the jeans above? Return.
************
So, there’s a look at this month’s fix. Unfortunately, it wasn’t as good as my last couple of fixes (I’ll tell ya, I either love ‘em or feel just “meh” about ‘em) and leading into writing this post, I was actually still considering the jeans, but I guess I talked my way out of those. Whaddya know? But I’m still on the fence on the couple of pieces above, so let me know…what do you guys think? Keep any of them? Return them all and lose my styling fee? I’m torn!
*************
As a side note, I want to thank you all for the incredibly sweet comments and messages yesterday about my 2 Nana’s. She will be sorely missed, and it was a tough couple of days, but I really do appreciate all of your kindness. Xoxoxo

I love this bicycle top and it looks super cute on you. However, I feel that you could probably get that same top at H&M or Old Navy for $10-$15. Love, love the jacket! I’ve been looking for one just like that. Each one I have tried on though has been too big, too small, or just hit me funny. It would be great for fall too! It’s a staple piece. If the quality is good I would say splurge and go for it. =)
Christen says
Keep the bicycles! So cute :)
Lynn says
I am a fan of the bicycle top too, I vote to keep it. As for the Le Lis top, that’s currently on Zulilly now for $19.99 if you like it enough to get it for half the Stix price?
Brittany says
i loveeee the bicycle print top! I had bought a dress that had birdcages on it because I loved the cut (but not sold on the print) and I got more compliments than ever! sometimes stepping out of comfort zone on the print is a good thing
Britt@MyOwnBalance says
I agree with you that the Berkley lace would look beautiful in a lighter color so you can see the detail! Plus, I like having lighter tops to go with dark jeans!
Brynn says
love the bicycle top- it’s whimsical. I also like the jacket but have seen so many versions around in a variety of colors and price points that I’d suggest doing some searching. I’m surprised there weren’t any summer pieces.
Linz @ Itz Linz says
i love that jacket but do think it’s really expensive, too
Marielle says
I’m totally on the lookout for some pastel and lighter colored tops for spring as well, I love black but im ready to transition or of it too! :)
Melissa says
Blah, I’d return all of them tbh. It’s not that they don’t look good on you, it’s just the style is blah and I wouldn’t pay $$$ for blah, lol.
Bri says
Bike top is super cute! The cut is flattering on you too. I received that same anorak in my fix a couple months ago in blue and actually love it. Tons of pockets, lightweight for those in between days, and cute trim. I’d say go for it! Get that $20 worth :)
Sara says
Keep the bicycle top! It’s super cute and looks great on you :-)
Danielle says
I’m a little late, but wanted to say I’m so sorry about your Nana. I like the bicycle top. You can totally pull it off!
melissa @fitnessnycblog says
I can barely see the bicycles, they are very subtle. With a blazer or a caridgan, you would really keep the attention on the style of the skirt, not the pattern. The fit is wonderful!
Monica says
I agree with everyone… keep the bicycle shirt. So cute for spring/summer!
Nicole W says
I actually tried on that exact raincoat from Target- it was super cute! I was on the fence about it- but now re-thinking! Can’t beat the price!
Shel@PeachyPalate says
Keep the jacket! It’s timeless and you’ll have it forever!
Tara says
I never comment – but keep the bicycle top! Its totally cute on you.
Allison says
I feel like you could get all those items for 1/3 the cost at old navy. I swear I have seen a version of all of those items there recently. I usually love Stich Fix but this month wasn’t their best.
Amanda @ Slimplify Life says
I do love that jacket! But I’m with ya, my Stitch Fixes lately have been a total bust. I feel like I either love everything or am not a huge fan of anything.
Dena says
I would send the bicycle top back only because it has bicycles on it. lol. It looks GREAT on you, though, but I wouldn’t be able to get past the bicycles. But I say keep the olive green jacket. It is SO CUTE. I would not try Stitch Fix solely because of the price of the items. I think they are way overpriced. But I’m sure it’s so fun and exciting getting that package every month and not having to spend your time looking for things!
Emma says
Im loving those relaxed military-ish jackets. I currently have my eyes on one from the GAP, but it could be around $50 with their sales so totally agree I’d pass up the stitch fix one: http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=5739&vid=1&pid=225351022

Heather @ Life In Leggings says
Stopppp, I specifically requested that jacked a couple of months ago. It’s adorable and if you don’t keep it, please send it to me, as I still don’t have one. ;) Personally, I love the bicycles! You can definitely pull it off.
Heather @ Life In Leggings says
*jacket, obviously. Maybe I’m “jacked” on coffee right now? Ha!
michelle says
Love the bicycle top!
Darrecia says
Return the $88 jacket. Perhaps I’m biased because I live in the south, but I don’t see a real need for a jacket like that in late March/April lol. I actually like the bicycle top. It is a tad weird that there are bikes on a top for an adult, but it is a cute top :)
Liv @ Healthy Liv says
I love the style of the bicycle top, but I agree that the print is kind of a bummer so I probably wouldn’t keep it (unless you can find Lucas a bicycle shirt, too? ;) )
I love the cargo jacket, but if you’ve seen a similar one cheaper, I’d go for that one! Even if you lose the $20 styling fee, you’ll save money by buying the similar jeans & jacket somewhere else :)
Annie says
I say return all of them…I actually like the jeans, but I hear what you’re saying there. The tops don’t fit you well – they all seem a little big/boxy on you!
Patty says
I like how the bicycle top fits you but it seems pretty expensive for something you don’t seem too confident about wearing. I also like how the green jacket fits but its not a color I think of with spring. Seems a bit more of a fall color.
Katie H says
I like the look and flow of the top but the bicycle pattern is a deal breaker for me- like you said, more appropriate for Lucas!
Emily @ Perfection Isn't Happy says
I’d keep the first top. The print is different, but it’s fun for spring and summer!
Kristy B. says
The bicycles are fun, and small enough that from far away they look kind of like dots.
Amanda says
The bicycle shirt is adorable. I think the color and print are neutral enough that you will get a ton of use out of it. I definitely think it is the one keeper!
lisa valinsky says
I find their stuff so pricey! I love the bicycle top (though I also agree that it’d be better in a color than white), but I just find these items to be too much money when you can get similar things at Target or Old Navy. Hmm…
Ashley @ My Food N Fitness Diaries says
I actually think the bicycle print is super cute and perfect for spring/summer. It’s unique, which is why I think I like it so much. Not to mention the fit is adorable on you!
I really like military jackets, but to be totally honest, I think you could find a cuter one than this one that is maybe a little more fitted and probably cheaper too. Just my two cents. ;)
Hannah @ CleanEatingVeggieGirl says
I personally love the green jacket, but like someone said above.. I’m sure you could find something similar somewhere like Old Navy or Gap for cheaper!
Mandee says
id say no to the bicycle top, solely because if you go into forever21.com and check out the love 21 section, there are plenty of really pretty flowy long blouses and sleeveless tops in solid colors and pretty non-bicycle prints. Oh and for MUCH cheaper too!
Amber Schumann says
I think the “bicycle” top looks great on you!!!! And the quirky designs are a fantastic way to incorporate a little more edge into your style (in a subtle way). In one of my fixes, I received a bright orange blouse with navy blue tulip shapes all over. Totally random… but I always get compliments on how unique it is! Aside from my usual “solid color” wardrobe.
Ashley @ A Lady Goes West says
Hi Court! First of all, I wrote about my fixes today for the first time, because I just started the service last month. For yours: I LOVE the bicycle top and the green jacket and the jeans you have above, don’t be scared about the bikes! I’ve found that some items are a little more expensive than what I would normally look for, but I do like the surprise of opening the fix when it arrives.
Second of all, small world thing — by scrolling through comments yesterday one of my good friends found out that I read your blog. And she’s your cousin! Ashley B. was my good friend in Orlando, and was my husband’s best friend in college. He was in her wedding, and she was an usherette in my wedding. How about that? She texted me and said it was so funny that I read your blog. She’s the sweetest, and now that we’ve both moved far from Orlando, I haven’t seen her in too long:(
Have a good Tuesday!
Laur says
I would keep the bicycle top!!! It’s SO cute and I think the fact you’re a Mom makes it MORE of a keeper!
Jos says
I think the bikes and the lace back look the cutest on you, I say keep those two and send the rest back.
Nikki says
I love the bicycle top on you! It looks super cute!! I like the jacket too but I feel like you could find it somewhere a little less expensive. The black shirt is cute but you can’t see the lace. I’m with you on the jeans, I’ve been looking for a great pair of distressed jeans for the Spring/Summer.
Kate says
I feel like stitch fix has gotten too pricey! You could find so many of those things in Target, Old Navy or even the sales at Ann Taylor Loft!!
Donna Boudreau says
I got that same jacket last month in tan and kept it. I just peeked at what they are sending this month. I try to google all the items to see if I can see what they look like but of course I have no idea what color they are. I just have a feeling that I will be disappointed this month. I guess we’ll see when it’s delivered. After that, I may take a little break. I feel like I’ve been shopping way too much lately.
Sarah @ Sarah Sincerely says
I love the bicycle top on you. And honestly, in the photos, I can’t tell the print is bicycles. I think the fit is really flattering on you!
Lisa says
I actually love the jacket on you. I think it’s a keeper, but in the end it is your call. I just got my fix a few days ago. I was so happy to see the chevron scarf featured on pinterest in my fix (I pinned it hoping I would have it in a fix). I know what you mean by hit or miss. Some fixes are perfect, others not so much.
Katie says
I love the bike tank on you! I think it looks great.. I love the coat too, however the price not so much! :/ Especially if you can get a better deal on it! I ended up canceling my fix since I feel like the pieces they kept sending were too pricey for the quality of the material! super sad face!
Molly says
Keep the anorak jacket! I have one very similar to it and I love it for weekends and especially for traveling since it’s so lightweight.
Caitlin says
the only thing i’d keep is the jacket. i love the bicycle top and think you can totally pull that off, but it is not worth $48 IMO!
Kimberly says
I got the bicycle top in my fix and kept it. I really liked how it fit. It can be hard to find a sleeveless top that fits and doesn’t have arm holes that are too big. I think it will look cute with shorts or white jeans!
Karin says
I hope you kept the bicycle top. You could use a bright, light-weight cardigan overtop of it.
Courtney says
Yes, I did keep it! :)
