Happy Sunday, everyone! I’m sure many of you are probably looking for some more details after Friday’s post but, don’t worry, I’ll have lots more to share with you tomorrow!
But for now, here’s a look at our “meal plan” from this past week. I say that loosely because, really, we didn’t have a meal plan. Like, at all. But we made do, and I even wound up with a new recipe that I’m absolutely in LOVE with and will be sharing with you soon!
Sunday: Pizza at my parents’ house!
Monday: Pizza again (+ cake!) when we visited my FIL to celebrate his birthday
Tuesday: Homemade sauce and meatballs over gemelli pasta (one of Jay’s favorite)
Wednesday: The most amaaaaazing Shepherd’s Pie
And it was so good that I’ll be sharing the recipe soon! It totally took me by surprise but I love it.
Thursday: Leftovers…Jay had pasta and I had delicious Shepherd’s Pie.
Friday: For the third time this week…pizza. Plus mixed greens on the side.
These were made on naan bread, and they were delicious! One plain cheese and one BBQ chicken. Yum!
Saturday: Date night! Jay and I were invited to a local favorite of ours, Creo’, to check out their fall menu, and let me tell you…it did not disappoint!
To start, we shared their lobster bisque (holy crap, absolutely incredible), and their Thai Beef flatbread.
And then we were also surprised with another delicious appetizer, courtesy of the chef, the Lobster Spring Roll. The flavors were so unique, with hints of mango and mint, and totally knocked both of our socks off.
Oh, and I’ve also got to mention their fresh bread with gingerbread butter. Yes, gingerbread. It was like Christmas…in a butter.
At this point, I think we both could have been satisfied, but out entrees arrived soon after. Jay ordered the house made cavatelli in a Bolognese sauce, which was absolutely insane.
But even more incredible was my (somewhat surprising of a choice) entrée: the Double Pork Chop with grilled apples, quinoa, roasted sweet potatoes, and whole grain mustard. Jay and I are both currently trying to figure out how to recreate the entire thing at home because it was, without a doubt, the best pork chop I’d ever had.
Feeling like we were ready to be rolled out the door at this point, we were presented with this plate of beauty. And suddenly, my dessert stomach came to the party.
The chef surprised us with a plate consisting of their chocolate obsession cake, a homemade ice cream (which I believe was maybe gingerbread and caramel??), and their special for the night which I, unfortunately, didn’t get the full details on. But I know it was peanut butter, chocolate, and had chunks of chocolate truffles throughout the middle.
Umm…ohmygod so good. Thank you, Creo’, for the absolutely delicious dinner! We will be back!
And here’s a little something fun for ya…100 years of dinner. It’s quite an amusing little video and I’m sure many of you will be able to relate to many of these meals!
Alright guys, I’ll catch up with ya tomorrow! Enjoy the rest of your weekend! <3
