When I look back on this year, I honestly can’t believe how FAST it went by. It’s still hard to wrap my head around all of the changes that have happened over these past 6-7 months…with the biggest one being our move!
As much as I do NOT miss the process of moving, there are still plenty of days where I miss our old home.
Whenever anyone asks “how is the new house going,” I obviously say that it’s good, but that we’re still adjusting and trying to get it to feel like “home.” You know what I mean? We’re certainly getting there, but there are many days where I still long for our tiny, less than 1,000 sq ft ranch.
It may have been tiny, but it was cozy. And it had a LOT of memories. Great ones, too.
Alright, so I got a little off track there. Nothing like a little trip down memory lane, no?
So while we were in the process of moving, we came across a TON of old photos and videos. Some of them were of Lucas (aka, the ones where you have about 25 pictures of the SAME THING but you can’t stop snapping because the baby is brand new and you can’t even fathom the idea of deleting any of them)…
Some of them were of myself and Jay when we were younger (these were photos that we used on our table numbers from our wedding and we actually LOST the originals at some point, so this is all we have of those now)…
And some of them were super old home videos from when I was younger and even from my grandparents’ wedding!
Unfortunately, we don’t have any sort of player that would have still played these movies, so I was thrilled when we found out about Legacybox.
Have you guys heard of Legacybox yet? It’s SO cool! And right now, you can get 40% OFF!! Just use the code SWEETLIFE at checkout when you click here!
Legacybox takes any format of outdated memories (think VHS tapes, Super 8 film, negatives from film, etc.) and digitally preserves them, and they do it in a way that makes it SO incredibly easy.
Once you order, Legacybox will send you a kit that you fill with any formats in your collection.
The kit includes a guide, round-trip shipping, crush proof box, and personal concierge so you can talk to an expert any time.
Once you’ve got the box and have had the chance to look everything over, it’s time to start packing! Simply use the two empty boxes that Legacybox provides to fill up with your originals.
In your kit will also be a sheet of barcodes specific to your order. This is how they track everything in your package to ensure your memories stay safe throughout the whole process.
Once you’ve labeled all of your items, send it back with the pre-paid shipping label and that’s it! In a few weeks you’ll receive your originals back along with DVDs and digital files.
There’s also an optional add on where you can get a USB drive in addition to the DVD’s, too!
Each of your DVD’s are even labeled with exactly what was on your original.
I honestly couldn’t have been more thrilled with the ease of the process AND the outcome of the work.
And just for fun, here’s a little glimpse into some of our old videos. They’re not long, but I always love seeing old videos of others than I know (or even “know” virtually, if ya know what I mean).
I’m the one in pink all the way to the right!
Some fun with my parents and brother!
My first ever dance recital – I’m the one all the way to the right!
Interested in trying out Legacybox for yourself? Well I’ve got a sweet deal for you…40% OFF!! Just use the code SWEETLIFE at checkout when you click here!

I’ve heard of this service and think it’s such a great idea. My mom has so many family photos that I’m thinking of gifting this to her!

Legacybox seems like such a great way to preserve old memories. I get very nostalgic when I have moved in the past too. You make memories everywhere you go so it will always be a little sad to leave.

This is a great service! My mom has SO many old photos of us that I would love to have all digital. My dad said he would try to do this for us but that was 5 years ago ;)

Ok- this is freaking awesome! I grew up in the 80’s and all of our memories, Christmas movies, etc are on film or VHS tapes. My husband and I got married in 2001, and we have bags and bags of the negatives that I would love to put into a digital format. I’m so excited about this-thanks for sharing!
