Heyyyy guys, what’s shakin’? Did everyone have a fun weekend? I actually had yesterday off from work for President’s Day and my day was jam packed so I never got the chance to get to the computer to catch up with all of you all.
BUT…I actually don’t have all that much to share from this weekend! Don’t get me wrong, it was a blast; but I didn’t take too many photos so I don’t have much to show for it. Yes, we spent a good amount of time straight chilin’.
This is Lucas’s new favorite way to hang out in his highchair once he’s done eating. Give him his spoon and some leg room and he’s good to go. Works for me…makes it much easier to get things cleaned up!
So Friday night for Valentine’s Day, the three of us had a nice, quiet night in. We ordered a pizza from one of our favorite spots and popped open a bottle of wine after the babe went to bed. Umm, yeah. Bad idea. One glass in for each of us and we were ready for bed by 8pm…in bed just after 9pm. Lame.
Saturday was a great day. I headed out and ran some errands solo in the morning and that evening, Jay and I headed out for a fun night with friends. Before meeting up with everyone, the two of us decided to stop for a quick ‘happy hour’ beer at a nearby Ruby Tuesday’s.
Sam Adams Cold Snap, btw? OMG so good.
As always, we had such a good time with some great conversation while sitting at the bar. Seriously, what is it about sitting at a bar?
A little while later we met up with the Mexico crew. You may remember that last year, and the year before, our group traveled down to Mexico for the most amazing trip. One of our favorite nights while we were down there last year was our hibachi dinner…
…so we decided to recreate it the best way we could with a hibachi dinner here!
Of course we all had a blast, and there were plenty of shenanigans, laughs, and sake bombs to go around.
So, so, so much fun!
After dinner we all went back and had a makeshift “La Plaza” evening, complete with music and drinks. Almost like the real thing…only a whole lot colder.
Sunday was a pretty low-key day. Jay and I spent the whole day without leaving the house and took care of a lot of chores/cleaning/organizing. I also made sure to get in a killer workout so with the extra time I had, I decided to do the R.I.P.P.E.D. DVD I’ve been loving. Yeah, the video is a little cheesy, but the workout is freakin’ awesome. Oh, and the squats. All 128 of them…
Let’s just say this workout certainly does not go unnoticed the next day!
I had a little fun on Pinterest…can ya tell?
And with that, I’ve gotta get back to my viewing of The Bachelor, my friends (as I’m typing this out on Monday evening). All I can say is, I reeeeeally hope Sharleen gets the boot soon. She just drives me nutty.
Happy Tuesdayyyyy! xoxo

lol, love that picture of Lucas! Sometimes the weirdest positions are the comfiest!
Jamie @ Dishing Out Health says
Just tried the Cold Snap over the weekend.. SA never disappoints! :) 128 squats?! You go girl!
Stacie @ SimplSouthernStacie says
How fun! I love that y’all recreated your own little vacation moment.
I’ve started doing a RIPPED class at my gym – HOLY. Talk about feeling the burn after!
Kelly says
Are you going to announce the winner to Naturebox giveway?!
Jenn@Mark My Miles! says
Sounds like a great weekend.
So glad you mentioned the Mexico crew. I miss hearing about those guys!!!
Sara @ LovingOnTheRun says
Glad you all had such a great weekend! Love that picture of lucas hanging out after he finished dinner! :)
sounds like a wonderful weekend with friends!
Amanda @ A Latte Learn says
Sam Adams Cold Snap is seriously so good!!! I was pleasantly surprised when I first tried it during the Super Bowl!
Katie @ Talk Less, Say More says
Or she decides to leave herself…thank goodness! Though some of these other ladies are driving me bonkers too!!
Jamie @ Sometimes Healthy Living Blog says
Looks like a fun night!
I gotta agree with you on the bachelor. This whole season is driving me nuts! I still watch it but I have to multi-task while I do because it bores me. Technically Sharleen is smart/realistic but it’s like “Hey if ya couldn’t fall madly in love in 6 weeks then you shouldn’t have been on the bachelor!”
Kelly says
Sounds like our Valentine’s Day too! Trey was down at 7:30 and I think we were both in bed by 9:00. HA!
Heather @fitncookies says
If you can’t get to Mexico, bring Mexico to you :) That looks like a lot of fun, though, with such a big group of people! I love the way Lucas is just hanging out now, haha. My Valentine’s Day ended at 10. My husband told me I should try to stay up on a Friday night.. so I gave him until 10, lol. 9 would have been fabulous!
Shel@PeachyPalate says
Ah sure a little bit of cheesiness when working out is no harm! :) Your night out looks and sounds like fun!
Ashley @ My Food N Fitness Diaries says
Sounds like a great weekend! Ha! I LOVE Lucas just chillin’ in his highchair! I give Hunter his spoon and bowl to play with while I’m cleaning up, and he LOVES it. It results in me having to pick it up for him a few times, but I’ll take it if he’s happy in there for a few extra minutes.
Kim @ FITsique says
It looks like you had a great weekend! At least you have a cute little guy to give you a reason to be in bed by 9 on Friday…I just do that without kids! I’m going to be in trouble one day!
Miranda @ Loving Every Mile says
Ahh looks like a great weekend! Spending time with best friends is easily the best way to spend a weekend :) PS I love Lucas’ new favorite pose, haha!
Sam @ Better With Sprinkles says
Hibachi dinners are so much fun! I’ve only ever been to one (also in Mexico) but I really need to try another one soon. Glad you had a great long weekend Courtney!
Chelsea @ A Fit LittleOne says
Love that picture of Lucas, he just knows how to kick up his feet and have a good time :). And Omg, Sharleen is just beyond nutty. Some of the things she says…..I just can’t.
Alison @ Daily Moves and Grooves says
Looks like you had a blast this weekend! Hibachi dinners are always super entertaining (and delicious). Haha, I love that Pinterest photo: “Squat like Channing Tatum is watching.” Now there’s some motivation! ;)
Kristen says
Makeshift mexico night sounds fun! Who won the naturebox giveaway??? I’ve been crossing my fingers all weekend!
Holly @ EatGreatBEGreat says
Well, Lucas looks pretty chill lounging in the high chair. Too funny!
Hibachi is so much fun; although, I haven’t been to a hibachi restaurant in years. We have one not too far from our house, so we definitely need to make a point to get there soon!
Ellie@Fit for the soul says
Our kiddos are growin’ up way too fast! Lucas looks so mature in his high chair~I seriously see Jay when I see his pictures, lol. And I love how you guys are so close to such a big group of people! I find that oftentimes that’s not that easy with both spouses involved, since both have the people they’re close to already.
Annette@FitnessPerks says
I love that you guys recreated Mexico vacay where you were. So fun!
The way he chills in his seat is hilarious!!
Ashlee @ Ash's Right Direction says
That photo of him just chillin’ in his seat is great :)
It is great you guys get out with friends – it is good to get away from “mommy” mode once in a while.
Samantha @ Anatomy of My World says
That picture of Lucas is so cute! I will definitely have to try this beer… I’m always on the look out for new brews to enjoy!
Mallory says
I love Sharleen. Ha. Seriously, she was the only one with brain cells (including him).
