So last night, I told you guys how I came across one of the most delicious little treats ever, right? Yeah…that would be these little gems right here.
Well my mom is the one who actually made these, after she had gotten the recipe from a girl that she works with. I also used to work with said girl a while back, and I must say…Sam, I had no idea you were so snazzy with the treats!
So here’s the deal- these things are quick, delicious, and totally necessary to have for your next get-together. Or, umm, even just because…because that’s totally okay, too. I mean, salty and sweet? Does it GET much better than that??
Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel Sandwiches
Ingredients
- 1 bag of salted pretzel twists
Peanut Butter Filling:
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup confectioners’ sugar
Chocolate Coating:**
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 2 tsp light corn syrup
Instructions
- First, make the chocolate coating. Pour heavy cream into small saucepan. Once it begins to scald, add chocolate chips and corn syrup and stir. Cover the pot, remove from heat, and allow to sit for about 15 minutes.
- While the chocolate is melting, make the peanut butter filing by combining all of the ingredients (by hand or with a mixer). Sandwich about 1 tsp of filling between two pretzels and place on a baking sheet lined with wax paper.
- Once all pretzels are filled, stir the chocolate to make sure everything is combined. Dip half of each filled peanut butter pretzel sandwich into chocolate and place on wax paper. Put sandwiches in refrigerator about 1-2 hours or until chocolate is hardened and cooled. ENJOY!
Notes
My mom told me that she ended up making about 60 pretzel sandwiches and still had extra leftover of the peanut butter filling AND the chocolate. That being said, you could easily cut both of these recipes in half to make a smaller batch…which may or may not be a good idea if you’re just making these for yourself.
Now if I only had some of these with me right now in Philly!
Question for the Afternoon:
What would you deem the “ultimate” salty and sweet combo?

Genius! I love Take 5 bars and I’m pretty sure these are them, just homemade! I think I’ll try the coating with coconut milk instead of heavy cream. I’ve used it for ganache before for a non-dairy option and it was really really good.
