I’ll tell you guys something…my appetite has been SO up and down this past week. I honestly don’t remember it being this way when I was pregnant with Lucas?
And a quick update on the pregnancy front is that well, basically nothing is happening just yet. I went for my doc appointment on Tuesday and I’m a whopping 1cm dilated. Woo! But as much as I’m ready to have this little guy O-U-T, I’m also trying to remind myself (multiple times a day, most days) that I should just continue to fully embrace the “quiet” for these next couple of weeks. It’s easy to want to rush things, but then I often forget that, umm, that means another human is going to be here. CRAZY. And so. stinkin. exciting!
But anywho. Back to the appetite and food stuff. I figured I’d share a few favorites that were enjoyed over the past few days because some have been freakin’ delicious and some have been totally fueled by pregnancy cravings. And this first one is actually both of those things…
Yes. THESE COOKIES. I was reminded of these cookies a couple of weeks ago, and after seeing just how bad the original photos were, I figured it was time for a little update. Again, no claims over here that I’m a stellar food photographer, but I would like to think I’ve been able to step up my game a bit since 2010. So be sure to head on over to the original post for these Pretzel and Ice Cream Chocolate Chip Cookies. They’ve been thoroughly enjoyed by the whole family over here this week.
Then there was this beauty. Ohhhh, how I live for grilling season. Especially when it means grilled PIZZA.
We’ve been grilling pizza for years, and it’s always a favorite. You can even see some more about how we do it in this post and this really old post. This week, we topped it with some fresh sliced tomatoes, a leftover piece of grilled chicken, lots of garlic, and loads of cheese. It was exactly what I needed in life.
Guess what else has made a return lately? Watermelon sherbet with mini chocolate chips. (aka, my favorite pregnancy dessert).
It’s just so cool and refreshing and delicious.
And not quite cool or refreshing, but delicious, yes…the return of Apple Cinnamon Raisin Baked Oatmeal.
I’ve enjoyed it every morning for breakfast this week, and I just love how easy it is to add some extra almond milk and pop in the microwave to eat. Nice and simple!
Then there’s always the simplicity of a great salad that I love. Granted, the veggie intake has been lacking big time over here these past couple of weeks, but this salad I made yesterday was incredible.
It was loaded with veggies and topped with feta cheese, leftover steak from the night before, and ranch dressing. SO good!
And then, finally, I’ll leave you with this spur of the moment pit stop on my way home from my doc appointment on Tuesday.
I was having some pretty annoying nausea on and off on Tuesday, and the only thing that was sounding good at that very moment while I was in the car was salty french fries. Thankfully, there was a Wendy’s on my way home, so a quick run through the drive-thru and the craving was satisfied (even though Wendy’s fries totally aren’t my favorite).
So yeah, there’s a look at some fun eats from me this past week…how about you guys? What’s been good??

I’ve been craving salads and cold food like crazy until today when I work up to a chilly wet miserable day and I was all about the warming comforting bowl of paleo friendly cauliflower rice protein “oatmeal”…so damn good!

The watermelon sorbet is such a throwback! I’ve been crazy for morning muffins and chocolate covered espresso beans. Glad to hear you and little one are doing well!

So much for pregnancy being the healthiest time of my life! My dinner was nearly a whole box of ritz, BBQ’s chips and mini doughnuts, what’s wrong with me! Lol
Those cookies look really good, I currently wouldn’t trust myself with a batch at the moment.
I’ve been eating my steaks well done, which are not good at all, do we not have to?!

My pregnancy cravings have stayed pretty much the same for the past couple weeks: watermelon, big salads, cottage cheese, Mexican food, and “Beanitos” nacho cheese chips.

I felt like my appetite was always either crazy ravenous, or crazy non existent because I just wanted to puke! Definitely a broad spectrum! I craved Arby’s all the time…those curly fries were my JAM!

Dying to try grilling pizza this weekend. I’m just hesitant to create a huge cheesy mess all over my grill? That picture of your pizza has me drooling though, so it’s worth the risk to try it out!

So excited for you! Just wanted to add that when I was 37 weeks pregnant, I had my doctor’s appointment and she told me that baby “isn’t coming anytime soon…”….and my water broke 6 hours later and I gave birth the next day. You just never know when things are going to ramp up! Good luck!
