1. Whew. What. a. week. It’s now day 8 of pink eye…which has since traveled from one eye to the other. It’s been gross, nasty, discouraging, and annoying…buuuut, I think we’re closing in on the end (I can only hope!). Needless to say, I’m ready for these symptoms to be GONE!
2. This week (yes, the second week in February) finally brought us our first (small) snowfall. I’d honestly be okay with there being no snowfall at all, but I live the northeast…I know that’s not how we roll. So instead, we’ve been trying to embrace it…
Lucas, of course, has no problem with the snow. Except for when he tries to go and pick it up and realizes how cold it is.
And then still refuses to keep gloves/mittens on for more than like, 2 minutes at a time. Any tips, mamas??
3. On Wednesday, we got to get a great little sneak peek at Lucas’s little brother(!).
You may have already seen this on Instagram, but I’m sharing it here again anyways. The technician said that he is “quite an active one” (which she also predicted with Lucas…SPOT. ON.) and also said he’s showing up a little on the bigger side. She said most of that is due to the fact that he apparently has very long limbs…so for delivery purposes, let’s hope he’s nice and long and skinny. Oh, and the general consensus is that he looks just like his big brother.
3. Seeing baby boy this past week really made me so much more excited to finally meet him! I’ll be super honest here…I’m not totally loving this pregnancy. Is that horrible for me to say? It’s just been much more uncomfortable (stomach pains, itching…nothing major, but still annoying), and I guess I’m just more excited to get to the end result this time around. I loved pregnancy with Lucas, but things are just different with #2. Most weeks, I need to remind myself how far along I am?!
4. This salted caramel Yoplait Greek 100 whips is GOOD. Like, real good, you guys.
5. We finally got the upstairs of our house painted this past week and I am so, so thrilled. It seems so much more “homey” now (as opposed to the “asylum” that Jay referred to it as with the stark white walls).
Lucas’s Room: Sherwin Williams Respite
While we still have plenty of things to hang on the walls and get fully settled, I just love that we’ve got a little bit of color up there now. We’re getting there!
Master Bedroom: Sherwin Williams Quest Gray
Baby’s Nursery: Sherwin Williams Online (the same color as our office!)
6. We’ve got winners this week! First, the Martha Stewart cookbook winners should be notified via email today, if you haven’t already! Second, the winner of the Stitch Fix gift card is Renee W! The winner has already been emailed, but I thank you all for participating! For those of you who have yet to try Stitch Fix, I definitely say to give it a go at least once. Especially with spring around the corner – it’s one of my favorite seasons to shop for! Like, I’m totally loving this sweater and this tunic sweater. And OH YEAH – the sweater I loved enough from Target to buy two of is now on their website HERE!
7. I don’t know about you guys, but this week our area has experienced some pretty awful and tragic events. The ones that make you shake your head and think what in the world is wrong with people?!? I seriously have a hard time watching the news sometimes, because it makes me feel more and more like I’m losing hope in our society. I really wish they’d make a news station that is devoted to ONLY publishing news stories that are positive, uplifting, and encouraging. Wouldn’t that just be a breath of fresh air??
8. I’m still trying to decide if I should cut my hair. One day I’m all like, yesssss, cut it off! Then the next day I get it to look good with waves and I’m like okayyy, maybe I want to keep it. Either way, things are getting long over here.
- Top: Liz Lange for Target
- Sweatpants: Fabletics Leto Jogger
9. Oh yeah, and we moved the mirror in our bedroom and it is wayyy more conducive to my outfit selfies now. #priorities
10. We don’t have too much on the agenda this weekend, which I’m totally okay with since it’s supposed to be bitterly cold. Hello, hibernation mode!
I hope you all have a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend ahead, whatever you may be doing! <3
Andrea says
I freakin love the color of your bedroom!!!!! I’m 19 weeks pregnant also and experiencing just ‘annoying’ things, this is my first pregnancy but I’m so over it too! Headaches, stomach pains, etc. and the pink eye must be 10 x worse because you can’t take anything for it!
Courtney says
Thanks Andrea! I will say, my doctor recommended Eucerin lotion and after only 2 days I’ve noticed a major difference in the itchy belly!
Kelli Shallal says
I’m in the same boat with my hair! It’s so freaking long I have no idea what to do!
Brynn says
Your house looks beautiful! Color on the walls can really make a house feel more pulled together.
Katie @ Talk Less, Say More says
I need to move my mirror…not just for selfie purposes but because it’s simply propped on the floor and I can’t really see anything…haha!
Kelly says
Every time you post a pic of your bedroom, I think how beautiful your headboard is. :)
Courtney says
Aww thank you Kelly! It’s from Wayfair :) http://www.wayfair.com/Upholstered-Headboard-THRE1904-THRE1904.html
Brittany says
There actually are a lot of online news networks that are dedicated to only uplifting and positive stories. This is the one I read and trust information from:

This is fantastic, THANK YOU for sharing Brittany! Have a great weekend :)
Melissa @ Freeing Imperfections says
Ugh to the pink eye! I hope it leaves quick.
I love your master headboard. Where did you get that? I want one similar to replace my cheap-o boring black headboard.
Courtney says
Thanks Melissa! We just bought it recently from Wayfair – http://www.wayfair.com/Upholstered-Headboard-THRE1904-THRE1904.html
Marielle says
I’m debating about cutting my hair a little bit for spring! It’s always fun to have a change but like you, I’m always indecisive about it!
Courtney says
Haha, indecisive is my middle name ;)
Sheena @ Paws and Pavement says
Love the colors of your rooms! Painting is on the the agenda this spring.
Courtney says
Thanks Sheena!!
Brittney says
For the toddler glove situation (I can relate!), you could try L-Bow mittens. The gloves/mittens are attached to a “sleeve” that goes the whole way up to their elbow, under their jacket, so they can’t take them off. Works for us!
Courtney says
I had never heard of these?! But totally looking into them, thank you Brittney!!
Brigid says
As for the mittens, Tina at Carrotsncake has written about mittens called Cubbies. I guess they make mittens attached to a fleece shirt. It can be worn under a coat or on its own depending on the temp. Because they’re attached…not shot of taking them off!
Shawna says
the wall colors look great. reading your post made me remember i had a dream that my BFF (who lives upstate and is also pregnant with her second baby) had a girl, which was such a surprise b/c although she won’t find out, she really thinks it’s another boy! i wasn’t sure if there was snow up there but i’ll be up at Crooked Lake all weekend and would totally go snowboarding at Jiminy if it wasn’t going to be, like, no degrees. stay warm! oh, and i’m Hundo P with you on the hair situation — mine was getting so long last fall and i chopped it all off to above my shoulders, and now i think i’ll grow it again for the summer. when you have one, you want the other!
Shannon says
Tina from Carrots n Cake posted a link to this shirt not too long ago:

Sounds like it may be perfect for Lucas!

I have said this more than once, but Lucas is too adorable and reminds me soo much of my of my son =0) I love 3D sonograms they’re adorable. I still have my son’s framed and on my dresser.
With regards to your Pink eye, I had the same problem last summer and ended up going to the Optometrist, long story short it was an eye infection and the eye drops that the walk in clinic had prescribed twice to me was actually worsening things. The eye drops were a steroid which can damage your eyes if taken to much of or high dosage. I’m happy I ended up going to the Optometrist and was able to resolve the infection within 1 week. I hope your Pink Eye isn’t an underlying infection? Good Luck and Happy Friday =0)
Shel@PeachyPalate says
Love your lounge wear! I reckon your hair would really suit you shorter!!!
Julia @ Lord Still Loves Me says
I hope your days of pink eye stop one number 8! Those pictures of him out in the snow make my heart melt. He is such a cutie! Hope you have a relaxed weekend ahead of you Courtney!
cara zimmer says
Oh my word, 8 DAYS???? I would die. Seriously. My glasses look like coke bottles, so not cute. Lucas is such a cutie, my goodness! I am with you on the pregnancy thing, I enjoyed it, but I was always so sick that it kind of stole that charm lol. We are getting the bitterly cold temps too (Mn) and I am super excited to say that we are hibernating all weekend!
Taylor says
Ugh I’m so sorry about the pink eye! That sounds terrible!! Love the pictures of Lucas in the snow!! so cute!! I am so ready for the weekend!! We have weather in the 60s and 70s right now in Dallas… I am loving it!
Fiona @ Get Fit Fiona says
I’m jealous you guys got your first snowfall! We’ve had snow on the ground for months now.
I know what you mean about senseless tragedies. We had one in our city this week too. Two teenagers lost their lives and 6 of their friends were injured. It’s a reminder of how fragile life is.
Bethany says
I totally get ya with the pregnancy thing! I’m almost 32 weeks and I am kinda over it. Having a healthy baby is most important and I’ve been so so blessed with an easy pregnancy. Starting around 29 weeks I started to get tired, round ligament pains, and Braxton Hicks, now I’ve decided I want my body back! Lol I miss being easily active and having a waste! Everyone says I’m going to miss being pregnant but I don’t see how these sweet kicks are going to compare with snuggles and smiles!!!
Autumn says
You might need a second opinion on your pink eye situation. Every time I’ve had it when I get drops it generally clears up in about 2 or 3 days…and that’s the case for everyone I know whose had it as an adult. Good luck!
Courtney says
Thankfully things have cleared themselves up (whew!) – thanks, Autum! :)
