A night out, kid free, surrounded by family, and getting to have this handsome guy as my date? Sign. Me. UP.
We had such a fun time this past weekend, celebrating the wedding of our cousin Pat and his (now wife) Brie. Unfortunately, I did such a terrible job taking pictures while I was there that I never even ended up getting a picture of them! Sheesh.
The weather really couldn’t have been more perfect though, especially since both the ceremony and reception took place outdoors. And after a short and intimate ceremony, all guests were escorted over to the reception tent where there was a delicious spread of hors d’oeuvres.
And, of course, cocktails. Yes, it was a good day for some wine.
We just love our cousins to pieces, so family events are always extra special when we all get to hang out. I’m sure you guys see some familiar faces!
We were totally missing Mal, though, since she was at home snuggling that sweet new baby of hers. <3
And I feel like I spent almost the entire cocktail hour catching up with Sarah, which was long overdue!
Any time we get together these days, the kiddos are usually around…so for those of you in that situation too, then I’m sure you know what I mean when I say that you never really end up having a full conversation with an adult.
The dinner buffet that they had was absolutely incredible (for those of you who are local, it was catered by Longfellows and their pulled pork mac & cheese is OUT OF THIS WORLD).
After dinner there were a few more drinks and a lot more laughs.
And plenty of dancing and good music, too.
But then there was also this incredible dessert spread that immediately caught my eye.
Cupcakes, cookies, chocolate…yes, yes, and yes!
I still wish I had taken more pictures while we were there, but we really had such a great time (plus, the boys were both great for my parents, so that was a relief). I just love weddings!
The rest of our weekend was spent at home, with Jay doing a bunch more work on the deck. He tells me that he’s hoping it’s useable by this coming weekend…EEEEEK!
Hope you guys are all off to a great start this week – I’ll be back soon!

Glad you had a fun time at the wedding! I absolutely love your dress and hair! Where did you buy your dress? Was it sleeveless? I couldn’t tell, but I’m attending a summer wedding and would love to borrow that dress (or know where to buy it)! Your hair also looks so pretty, did you get just front highlights or all your hair highlighted? Love your blog!

There literally isn’t anything better than a date night at a wedding. I’m a total sucker for weddings (especially when we leave the kiddos at home because weddings never really jive with their schedule). Glad you had a fun night out and those desserts look legit!

Weddings are a blast! I have one coming up and can’t wait. Love the string lights they put up in the tent.

Aren’t weddings just THE BEST? I love them. I have two coming up at the end of the year, and I cannot WAIT to get my dance on… and to witness the unity of two close friends, of course. Looks like such a fun time! Also, dem desserts.

What is everything on the h’oeurderves plate beside the flatbread? Looks fergilicious! I had Vienna sausage mac and cheese with honey mustard at a wedding once (blugh I think someone just tossed a vat of salad dressing into the Mac and cheese as a joke) but it doesn’t hold a candle to yours! Mazel girl!

Pulled pork and mac and cheese–now THAT’S what I call good wedding food!
