Okay, so I know that I live in the northeast and we’re supposed to expect to get snow up here during winter and all that jazz…
HOWEVER.
Yesterday was just absolutely insane. INSANE! I haven’t seen a snow storm/blizzard like that one in a lonnnnng time, and now we’re the lucky recipients of about 2 feet of fresh, white snow. (No pictures to show for it, but my Instagram stories may still have some videos…I had some fun on there yesterday!)
We do not live in Pennsylvania, but I’d most definitely put myself in the 25 bottles category.
Because the conditions were so terrible, both Jay and I worked from home and kept the boys home with us. It was a bit of a crazy day, to say the least, starting bright and early with a very out-of-the-norm 5am wakeup call from a certain someone.
And when your kiddo’s first “nap” of the day is at 7:30am, you know it’s gonna be a long one!
Both of the boys actually have colds (…again…) so it was probably good to just keep them home to be able to wipe away all the boogers.
Since the day started off so early, I made sure to take advantage and squeeze in a workout before the day got too busy. I started with 20 minutes of intervals on the treadmill (1 minute @ 8mph / 30 seconds at 6mph) and followed it up with a slightly altered version of this upper body circuit.
It felt good to switch it up from a video for a change!
Thankfully, my mother-in-law was also here for the day since she usually watches Lucas on Tuesdays, so we had an extra set of hands in the house to help out while Jay and I were working.
After texting back and forth a few times with some friends, I suddenly found myself with a major hot chocolate craving, which got remedied rather quickly.
I’d say that for at least about 75% of the day, we had a crazy toddler running around the house, but thank goodness for these Usborne wipe clean books to give us a little down/quiet time here and there.
They are just so great, and he is currently obsessed with them!
We made it through dinner for the boys, and then it was on to tubbies…
And then once the kiddos were in bed, it was finally time for dinner for the adults. Homemade Rueben sandwiches (I baked the corned beef during the day!) with Parmesan Roasted Asparagus on the side.
It was all soooooo good!
And now here we are, almost two feet of snow later, and it’s still going to snow through today. Good grief!
How many more days until spring?! ; )

We got way too much snow up in Boston too. I am so ready for spring!

Yikes, hopefully this is the last big snow of the year for you guys! I guess snow days are a little more relaxing / magical for kids lol. Being from Texas, they always sounded so dreamy to me, but not if you still have to get work done while everyone’s home! At least you got some yummy hot chocolate :)

Holy snow is right! I would buy all the wine, whoa. We are leaving for vacation in a few days and I truly could not be more excited – yes, sun!

Quite the oppsite over here in Cali… its hot and humid! I could use some of that colder weather- hah! I used to love good ol snow days as a kid :)

Ha, love that wine bottle photo! Yikes, you guys got a lot of snow. We were supposed to get a foot or two of snow in southern Connecticut but ended up with 6 inches but a TON of ice so getting out to work this morning wasn’t fun. Where are you spring?!?!
Hot chocolate is a must on snow days!
Lauren @ Oh Hey! I Like That! says
We did not get NEARLY as much snow in Maryland, but it was nice to have a snow day! Although we didn’t have any hot chocolate, and I’m thinking of sending the husband out for some today…

Ahh that snow totally sucks. Seeing pictures and videos of other people starting to enjoy some spring weather is like rubbing salt in the wounds. I love that Tina Reale workout. I really miss her Best Body Boot Camps that she would run online. She go at me out of so many workout ruts. I hope the weather improves for the weekend and that the boys colds are short lived.

That is so much snow! It’s such a good thing that you were both able to work from home. I love that kind of flexibility. Your asparagus you made looks delicious.

I feel ya! At least the sun is shining here today in Boston! Luckily I’m working from home again as the sidewalks are all ice. I was actually urged to by my boss, which I’m so thankful for! Lord knows I would have face planted at least once!

It’s crazy to think that while you were getting so much snow yesterday, we had one of our warmest days so far at 48 degrees. Hopefully it’ll be the last of the snow for the winter.

I still pop in to read your blog and it was so funny to see an old workout of mine! Haha! Ah the good old days ;) And I couldn’t even imagine that much snow! Stay warm, friend!

Okay, that is the funniest weather report I’ve ever seen. I’m glad to see people are having a sense of humor over it. It’s sunny over here, but I’m slightly envious of the snow! I’ve only been in snow twice in my life, so I am always wanting to experience it. I hope your babes feel better asap!

Drooling over the corned beef sandwiches and congrats on making through a work from home day with both boys! :)

Cornt beef? Yaas Country!

Here in Wisconsin I know we should expect snow until like May, but it’s such a slap in the face when all previous snow has been completely melted for weeks and then BAM, so I totally feel your pain.
But there is something cozy and nice about being snowed in, even if it does mean complete chaos to get anything done. Maybe next snow day you’ll have to go with red wine in your hot chocolate, I hear it’s pretty great!
