Yesterday, Tina nominated me to do the “7 Links Post” that’s been making its way around blog land. I’m not going to lie; I was secretly hoping that somebody would nominate me, even though I really had no idea about my answers. But hey, here goes nothin’!
Most Beautiful
Alright, I guess it’s not “technically” a post, but I’m going to have to say that my Wedding Page is, in my eyes, the most beautiful. Everything about that day was just…perfect.
Most Popular
Not surprisingly, most of my more popular posts are baking and/or food related (the top two being Chicken, Bacon, & Ranch Mac & Cheese and Strawberry-Filled Lemon Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting.)
But my most read posts are definitely “A Loaded Question” and “Opening Up” which are found in my “My Story” page and talk about my past struggles with disordered eating and how I overcame it.
Most Controversial
I’ve never had a controversial personality. I don’t enjoy controversy and I try to avoid it all costs. That being said, you probably aren’t going to find too many controversial posts here on STSL! If anyone else can think of a post that I’ve written, please let me know!
Most Helpful
This was a tough one. Usually, I don’t really write posts that offer advice or instructions on anything. But after a little searching I realized that I guess I have gotten a little informative at times.
Such as when I injured my foot while in Vegas last August and offered tips for exercising with an injury. Or when I wrote this post on Tips for Exercising with Asthma which may be helpful if you’re a sufferer like me.
Surprise Success
Back in November, I posted about the Twinkie Diet after hearing about it from a co-worker. I found the article rather interesting, and apparently everyone else did too. My blog was still a wordpress.com blog at that point, and my post actually ended up getting “Freshly Pressed” which brought a whole lot of conversation to the topic. That was fun!
Not Enough Attention
I think I’m realizing while going through this 7 Links game that I really don’t write very many deep posts, haha! Honestly, any blog post I write that receives any sort of attention at all is enough for me. I can understand if someone else doesn’t get as excited about seeing another cereal combo bowl or pictures of Cody…well, maybe on Cody. He’ll always have my attention.
Most Proud
I’ll have to say my #1 would be when I ran my first 10K this past April.
But my #2 is definitely the “The Big Reveal: The New Sweet Tooth Kitchen.” We Jay worked so hard on our kitchen remodel and I was practically busting at the seams to be able to share the final, finished product with you all. I especially loved sharing the before and after shots…talk about a huge change!
Now, I nominate…
Molly @ Duchess of Fork
Julie @ Peanut Butter Fingers
Meghann @ Meals and Miles
Jen @ Jen is Green
Holly @ Greek Yogurt and Apple Slices
*****
Now, since it is morning and all, let’s go for another round of “Would You Rather Questions” because I’m loving them OH so much!
HAPPY FRIDAY!
WOULD YOU RATHER…
- Be a psychic that can sense people’s dislikes -OR- a psychic that can sense people’s fears?
- Have no kids -OR- twelve kids?
- Run a marathon with sand in the seat of your shorts -OR- run a marathon while wearing men’s dress shoes?
Lauren @ Chocolate, Cheese and Wine says
1. I would rather sense people’s dislikes!
2. 12 kids for sure!
3. I would have to go with men’s dress shoes – but it would suck all 26.2 miles.
Your wedding was beautiful Courtney!
Faith @ For the Health of It says
No kids for sure! That one has to be the easiest would you rather ever – I don’t particularly want any kids anyways!
Mary @ Bites and Bliss says
hahaha the dress shoes one made me laugh. That’s so random! That’s a tough choice…cause the sand would seriously hurt after a while! I’d go for the dress shoes. Might as well be goofy lookin over sore!
Jill @ Jill is Active says
1. I would rather sense people’s dislikes – this is a tough one.
2. WOAH – if I HAD to choose one, I think I would say no kids. It would leave my husband and I money and time to travel and I think I would feel like I couldn’t provide enough for 12 kids.
3. I would rather run a marathon in Men’s shoes – as long as they were were the right size and the laughs from teh sidelines would probably be motivation and distracting and no one can see sand in your shorts!
Brittany says
Fears.
Twelve kids, my mom was one of 8 and she and her brothers and sisters are so close now. I think that would be great for them and I couldn’t handle having no kids… idk what I’d do with my life!
Sand. Sure it sucks and can be uncomfortable but I’d rather feel uncomfy there than seriously kill my feet.
Alex @ The Plum Foodie says
Oh lordy, 12 kids?? I have one now and am no where near ready for even a second one!! But, since I am an only child (and didn’t love it growing up), I’d opt for having 12 kids over zero – but only if I get my own show like the Duggars to pay for it all. ;-)
Julie H. of Spinach and Sprinkles says
These were tough ones!
Peoples dislikes
12 kids? That is hard! …I already have 25 at school. 37 is a lot of kids!!!!
Sand in the shorts, only because I don’t know if I could cross wearing those shoes that come with a rented tux. OUCH!
Gina @ Running to the Kitchen says
I love these 7 link posts b/c I get to read posts I probably would’ve never found otherwise. I didn’t know you had asthma, after reading that post it sounds incredibly similar to my life long journey with it as well. My asthma was much worse as a kid, even needing nebulizer treatments on occasion but I grew out of it a bit as I got older. Before we got our dog the only times it would get bad was in extreme cold. It wouldn’t matter how good of shape I was in, the cold would just make my lungs close up. then we got a dog, I’m allergic to dogs but was getting allergy shots to help with it. Well my allergies induced my asthma and it was almost a good 6 months of constantly using rescue inhalers on a daily basis to get by. I’ve gotten it under control now but it can be a pain to live with huh? Anyway…
I say sense people’s dislikes, no kids, and men’s shoes!
colleen says
1. Be a psychic who can tell people’s dislikes (I’d like to stay away from those…)
2. Have no kids (I’m a teacher so 12 is pretty much like having a mini-classroom ALL THE TIME and they don’t go home at 2:45…)
3. Run a marathon with sand in the seat of my shorts (I chose this only if the men’s dress shoes stay the man’s size. My boyfriend’s shoes are huge and they would hurt. But if they could be my size I’d wear ‘em)
Cait @ Cait hates Cake says
1. Sense people’s fears
2. 12 kids. Oh my, though. Hopefully I would have a nanny or two!
3. Sand. But, seriously – OUCH!
Erica says
Love your links! Especially the wedding page… I’m in all-out wedding mode at this point!
1. People’s dislikes!
2. No kids
3. Sand! (But thinking about a girl running in men’s dress shoes cracks me up!)
Lauren says
1. Dislikes
2. None
3. Men’s dress shoes — at least I would be going slow, right?
I thought this post was so cute! Happy Friday :)
Brittany @ ittybitsofbalance says
Your wedding post was one of my favorites as well :) And amen for not being a controversial person!
sweet and savvy says
Your wedding is Definitely most beautiful<3
I'd rather have 12 kids!
Aine @ Something to Chew Over says
I love this 7 links thing! It’s great to see posts I might have missed.
1. Fears so that I could help them overcome them!
2. No kids! I don’t think I could give 12 kids the attention and care they would deserve.
3. Hmmm probably sand as there’s nothing worse than sore feet when running. At least I think so!
Charlie says
a psychic that can sense people’s fears
Have no kids
run a marathon while wearing men’s dress shoes
And now I want mac & cheese :P.
Bethany says
■ Be a psychic that can sense people’s dislikes
■ Have no kids! 12 is outrageous!
■ WOW! Tough question!! I guess run a marathon with sand in my shorts. Running in uncomfortable shoes is the WORST and that’s what makes running better, the comfortable-ness of your shoes!
Girl in the pink says
I’d like to see dislikes so I ca know when I bug people.
I’d like to have 12 kids- hopefully most are adopted. If that’s not possible I might change my answer. I don’t want to spend that much time preggers!
Sand in my shorts!
Holly says
Oh I totally agree about the most beautiful! I LOVE your wedding page. Ok, wanna hear something totally random??! I had a dream last night & it was that Craig & I were getting married (again? haha!) & our decorations were the SAME ones that you had for your wedding (with the crystals hanging off of the tree branches, and all of the snow flakes). I have no idea why I had this dream…I swear it’s because you had a picture of you on your wedding day (with your white coat on) with your bridesmaids (after your friend asked you to be in her wedding)..and I think it was on my mind on something. How funny is that?!
Anyways, thank you for the tag! I was secretly hoping someone would tag me too :D
Claire says
Nice work Courtney!
My “Most Proud” moment recently was creating my vdeos page! It takes a lot of guts to put it out there for people! http://www.youtube.com/user/claireb92787?feature=mhee
Mallory @ It's Only Life says
1. I think it’s pretty easy to tell someone’s dislikes if you know them well enough; I think seeing people’s fears is much more interesting. Especially those who are closed-off– seeing their fears would make everyone more compassionate and relatable, in my opinion.
2. No kids. I hate to say it, but hey, the world’s overpopulated as it is (jk, kinda). No but really, I would be the most irritable person ever if i had that many… I wouldn’t be a fun or pleasant person/mom at all! Kids should be a joy (most of the time) and not a chore.
3. Sandy pants. Some discomfort is better than foot pain IMHO!
Lee @ in the pink of condition says
1. sensing people’s dislikes, especially when they are talking to me! I would definitely want to know if I have stinky breath or something!
2. 12 kids! I already want a huge family…but could I adopt any of them??
3. men’s dress shorts. sand up my butt does NOT sound like a good time!
Lee @ in the pink of condition says
i misread #3, but I would still take the dress shoes
Kathryn says
Sense peoples dislikes
12 kids! I love being a mom and have wanted to be one since I was 5.
Sand in my shorts
Shari @ Chicago Cuisine Critique says
This post is adorable! I definitely just pinned your recipes mentioned. Yum!
Kristen @ notsodomesticated says
I don’t like controversy either haha… I’m with ya on that one! ;)
Jess@atasteofconfidence says
Great posts! I would rather be able to sense people’s dislikes, run with sand in the seat of my shorts (although I don’t think I could do a whole marathon, anyway!), and have 12 kids.
courtney @ cupcakedynamite says
this is amazing because I never knew about your asthma post!! and now I want mac & cheese for lunch…
Jamie aka "Sometimes Healthy" Girl says
I loved your post about your 10K :-)
# I’d rather be a psychic that can sense people’s dislikes so I know if they don’t like me! Then I don’t have to worry!
# I’d rather have 12, I think…
# Definitely rather run a marathon in dress shoes….the other one sounds painful!
Alexa @ Simple Eats says
Love these! That mac and cheese has me drooling…
1. I’d rather be a psychic that can tell other people’s dislikes
2. 12 kids, all the way! I’d get used to the craziness!
3. Yuck…sand in my pants?! I’d definitely take the dress shoes.
Erin @ Naturally Addicted says
haha these are great
1. sense people’s dislikes
2. definitely 12 kids! I could not imagine not having any one day ;)
3. this one is the hardest! I guess I’d have to go with sand in my shorts because I could not imagine running in dress shoes…talk about no sport and a sure way to get some blisters!
Amber @ Stop and Smell the Wildflowers says
I would rather…
Be a psychic that can sense people’s dislikes.
Have no kids.
Run a marathon with sand in the seat of your shorts.

Courtney says
Thanks, Cailen! :)
Alyssa @ Life of bLyss says
This is such a cute idea! I loved looking back at all your gorgeous wedding photos.
I’d rather…
-Be a psychic that can sense people’s dislikes
-Have twelve kids
-Run a marathon with sand in the seat of your shorts (my feet are messed up enough without the men’s dress shoes.. yikes!)
Shayla @ The Good Life says
1. I’d rather be a psychic that can sense people’s dislikes
2. I’d have twelve kids – I love kids so much and want one so bad, I would be seriously heart broken if I couldn’t have any so I’d much rather have one too many!
3. Ooo this is a tough one! I’d have to go with run a marathon with sand in the seat of my shorts. I just can’t imagine how hard and uncomfortable it’d be to run in men’s shoes and I’d much rather have happy feet! :)
