Some weekends go by (okay, actually, most weekends lately) and by the time I go to sit down on Sunday evening to type up a post, I realize that I’ve got slim pickins’ when it comes to photographs to share. Times certainly have changed from when I used to take at least 50 photographs a day!
Nonetheless, despite a lack of photographs to share, we still had a good weekend. We had nothing on the calendar, which was really nice and allowed us to catch up on some stuff at home (because there’s always something, right??).
I was spoiled with a delicious ham, swiss, and tomato omelet with bacon on Saturday morning, complete with my mandatory two mugs of coffee.
And if I’ve said it once, I’ve said it 100 times, but mannnn, I love eggs for breakfast. I really need to make them more often, because I know they don’t take that long to make! I’ve been on a major English muffin with peanut butter and banana kick for breakfasts during the week lately, just because it’s so quick and easy (and because I love my carbs + PB at breakfast!).
I also tackled another project I’d been meaning to work on lately, which was updating some of our picture frames with some new prints that I recently ordered from mpix.
FYI: We order ALL of our prints from mpix, including larger sized ones, and they’ve always had absolutely amazing quality. I recommend them to everyone!
If you’ve never tried them before, here’s a coupon code for $5.00 off your first order! (<—that’s an affiliate link through their rewards program…definitely sign up to get yourself some of your own rewards, too!)
On Saturday afternoon, I was also lucky enough to have a couple of quiet hours to myself to go and check out a semi-new-to-our-area store, at home.
My MIL had given me a gift card for my birthday, and I’ve been trying to get there ever since.
I went in SUPER pumped, thinking I’d want to buy out the entire store, but I actually didn’t find TOO much. I did find a few things for a little project I’m trying to work on, and I’ll be excited to share it with you guys once it’s finished!
Shortly after I got home from the store, we had a surprise visit from my parents while playing outside in the snow.
It was a pretty nice day (all things considered…stupid snow), so it felt good to have everyone out getting some fresh air.
We all had a fun few hours hanging out and playing toys, and my mom even brought her “traveling salon” with her (aka, scissors, clippers, etc.) to be able to give Lucas a much-needed haircut. Gotta love that!
You may have also already seen my new, latest obsession on Instagram…our new ‘home’ sign from Smallwood Home.
I was first introduced to this one by Chelsey months ago, and I’d been eyeballing it ever since. So when it went on sale a few weeks ago, I decided to go for it…and I’m SO glad that I did! (It’s also on sale right now, too!!).
Sunday was a quieter day. Both boys ended up sleeping in until almost 7:45am which was totally dreamy, so we had a pretty lazy morning. And the only time I ended up leaving the house at all was for a weekly grocery shopping trip with my favorite shopping buddy.
We had a simple but yummy dinner of pork medallions, jasmine rice, and green beans.
And now, once I’m finished up with this post, I’m gonna go check on Jay to see how he’s doing on staining the barn wood doors he’s been working on. They’re looking SO good!!
Then, of course, it’s ice cream time.

Playing in the snow looks SO fun! I’m sure you’re ready for it to be over by now though. We had a great weekend too. We had a friend staying with us and went to one of my all time favorite places, a “pizza farm” where they make wood fired pizza and have a microbrewery on this farm outside of town. So good!

I saw your sign earlier this week and love it! Eggs are my favorite breakfast as well, but I usually grab a quick breakfast that I can eat while driving because I never give myself enough time in the morning :)

I saw that on your IG and immediately tagged my boyfriend!! WE might get a design from them- they are just so cute and work perfectly with our style at home!

I love your weekend recaps. I find, now that we have a toddler, I take fewer but more meaningful photos. Sometimes it’s just better to be in the moment rather than viewing it on a screen (or lens) :D. Your home is gorgeous! Is t it fun to really personalize your space and fill it fill of memories?

I love the sign! I’ve been eyeing some of their pieces, but have yet to snag one of my own! Looks like you all had a great weekend!

I saw your new sign on Instagram and love it! We live in a small ish condo but one day will have a beautiful home to decorate! I feel like we’re kind of in an in between stage right now not wanting to decorate a ton because I know we’ll be moving one day!

That sign is so cute! I’m just like you when it comes to eggs. In my mind I’ve worked them up to be such a hassle, but they probably take two extra minutes in comparison to my oatmeal concoction I usually opt for!
Happy Monday, Courtney. Wishing you a beautiful week ahead! :)

We love Mpix!! We had some professional pictures taken last summer and the photographer was the one who introduced me to them. She said “order your pics through Mpix because it’s cheaper than getting them through me”…I was sold! The quality has been amazing, the prices are great and even iPhone pictures I get blown up come out wonderful.
And yes to the eggs for breakfast! I used to be an oatmeal only person, but am currently in the midst of late first trimester nausea all day long and eggs have been my go to!

I had an awesome Saturday this past weekend! I spent it with my dude and we had lunch at this amazing Puerto Rican/New Orleans fusion place. It’s suiting because he’s from PR and I’m from NOLA. It was awesome. Also, the weather is FINALLY warming up in DC! I hope it lasts!
