Oh, HEY there! So good to chat with you all once again!
You may have already seen on my Instagram stories that Jay and I were lucky enough to enjoy a night out on Friday!
Alex stayed home with my mother-in-law and Lucas had a sleepover with my parents. Everyone did great (YAY!) which made me excited to be able to try and sneak in some more of these in the coming weeks/months. We’ve seriously MISSED our nights out!
We left with a enough time to be able to stop for a quick drink before heading over to Jay’s company party (which you’ve probably seen in the past!). The place they hold it (Franklin Plaza in Troy, for the locals) always has some really good food…especially after a couple of glasses of wine.
I ordered filet mignon for my dinner entrée and it definitely did not disappoint!
On Saturday afternoon, we headed out as a family of four to attend our cousin’s daughter’s 2nd birthday party (and I’m still obsessed with their home…absolutely gorgeous!).
Family/cousin parties are always a great time because the kiddos tend to have just as much fun as the adults. The kids can go off and play with each other, and the adults get to hang out and do their thing, too.
All while having adult conversations in about 5 minute segments since someone is usually having to go and check on the littles…you guys know how it goes!
Of course, birthday parties mean one important thing (besides family and friends)…cake!
Lucas was clearly quite excited to get his hands on some sugar (he gets it from his mama).
Ohhh, Michael, you character.
Side note…our (cousin) family is really growing!! A big CONGRATULATIONS to my cousin, Sarah, who had a little baby boy last Friday AND to our cousin Mal who is due to have a baby girl in May! YAY for more cousin friends! xoxo
After a late night with nana and papa + no nap on Saturday, somebody was quite tuckered out…this hardly ever happens anymore, so you know little man was sleepy.
After putting the boys to bed on Saturday night, I suddenly found myself in “declutter” mode (I’ve actually been in declutter mode for a few weeks now…I’m ready to get rid of it all!!). What started out with just going through my nightstand to see what I could chuck ended up resulting in a full sweep of all dresser drawers, three bags of old/musty/crappy clothes to toss…
And two huge bags of clothes to be donated.
It felt SO GOOD to start clearing stuff out!
On Sunday, Jay took Lucas to go see a monster trucks show in Albany and Jay said he was absolutely in awe the entire time. I was so glad to see them out having fun together without mommy!
My mom actually offered to come and hang out with Alex for a little bit (aka, I asked her) so I could head out and take care of the grocery shopping solo. It’s always a treat to be able to roam the isles in quiet. <3
OH, and have you guys seen all the different Chobani Flips???? Cinnabun…S’mores…Salted Caramel Crunch…I was in heaven!!
I actually tried the Chocolate Haze Craze last week and it was so good – I’m super pumped to try the others!
Once I got back from shopping, my mom helped me put together some Simple and Tasty Beef Stew for dinner and then I made some more baby food after putting Alex down for his last nap of the day.
I put it on IG Stories but forgot to snap any photos…yesterday’s flavors were just a big batch of sweet potatoes + some butternut squash mixed with pears. Yum!
And now the boys are in bed, I’m finishing typing up this post, and I’m about to go grab myself a bowl of ice cream before I have an Usborne Books party that’s set to start in about 15 minutes.P.S. – we just released SO MANY awesome new titles and I’m looking to book some more party dates in February…if you’re at all interested in hosting your own Facebook party, email me (sweettoothcourtney at gmail dot com)!! It’s super fun and you could earn a TON of free books!
I just want to quickly add that I really, truly appreciate all of your kind words, messages, and emails regarding my recent “blog burnout.” It means so much to hear from you all and I really appreciate you sticking with me as I work to find my mojo once again.
I hope you all have a fabulous week ahead!!

You’re so lucky to have family nearby. My cousins and all of the kids are the same way when we all get together- one big party!

My husband and I have been in serious declutter mode, too! It feels so good to have less stuff that we don’t need. I was researching what to do with old clothes that couldn’t be worn again (gross stuff with holes, underwear, etc) and found out that you actually should still donate it to Goodwill (as opposed to throwing it away)! They have programs to dispose of it properly so that it doesn’t hurt the environment.
I hope this doesn’t sound preachy – just thought I’d share :-)

I hear you about decluttering, I’ve been going through closests the past couple weeks. I’ve come to the conclusion that less stuff = happier me.

local here – where do you take your donations? I’m always indecisive about that and looking for options – I end up waiting so long to take them somewhere that I have embarrassing volumes….which makes me put it off longer……

oh, the those cookies……

Yay for getting rid of stuff! I have a big pile that I just need to get into my car. I love saying goodbye to it all though!
I’ve seen some of those flips but haven’t tried them. Now I’m dying for one! They are like dessert to me.

those ear muffs on Lucus…I die ?. Sounds like the perfect weekend of family and solo time. We are lucky to have my parents close by but all of my husbands family (so all of our lo cousins) live over the pond. It is so much fun when we can get together with them though.

I LOVE going through and de-cluttering just about anything in my house! And those Chobani Flips are amazing. My favorite is the key lime pie. Looks like you had a wonderful weekend! :)
