Well, I wouldn’t say we’re all totally at 100% but we are definitely on the mend over here and finally starting to get back into routine once again. Thank. Goodness.
I’m fairly certain that about 95% of my food intake for the past few days has been some form of carbs. English muffins with butter or peanut butter for breakfast (and lunch), and I even went with honey nut Cheerios for dinner two nights in a row.
Along with writing out the rest of Lucas’s valentines for him (as you may have already seen on Instagram). I mean, the kid did manage to write out over 20 of them on his own, so I’ll give that to him!
As much as I hate to hear that so many of you are dealing with all of this sickness crap, too, I’ll be honest…it does make me feel just a smidge better to know we aren’t the only ones. Some days I can’t help but wonder, what the heck am I doing wrong?! Granted, I know it really has nothing to do with me (hello, preschool and daycare), but still.
So yesterday was a busy but fun Valentine’s Day!
I worked through the morning then had to go and pick Lucas up from preschool, where I was surprised with a little Valentine’s Day gift. How adorable are these old fashioned photos they made?!
After I picked up Lucas, we swung over quick to the boys’ daycare to pop in for their Valentine’s Day party and say hi to the little man.
Ignore the tired eyes…despite the fact that I actually had gotten 8-1/2 hours straight of uninterrupted sleep the night before (hallelujah!) I still just feel exhausted pretty much every day. :-D
Lucas and I didn’t stay too long at daycare, since we had to get back to meet up with my mother-in-law to drop Lucas off to her, and so I could get back to work. Whew, one person here, one person there…yesterday’s routine was a little out of the norm (I don’t usually do preschool pickup days) but everyday is always an adventure!
After working for the afternoon, I went back to daycare to pick up Alex and then headed home to see a fun and festive display that my MIL put out. How cute, right?!
Jay and I aren’t usually ones to celebrate Valentine’s Day and we honestly didn’t have anything planned at all, so this was a fun surprise.
Oh, and I actually veered away from my dinner cereal for another form of delicious carbs for dinner…
Yasssss for takeout pizza. That’s what happens when the house is sick for three days and nobody plans for dinners accordingly. Thank goodness we’re getting a Blue Apron delivery today!
Alright, I’m out for today, my friends! And hey, don’t forget…will you be joining us tomorrow???
Side note…I can’t believe it’s already Wednesday. Is this week flying by for anyone else?!

Our son isn’t in daycare yet but I am pretty excited for all the little gifts and art work I’ll be getting once we sign him up!

Glad you guys are on the mend. Its definitely already been a loooooong week in our house. I’m at that stage of winter where I feel like the walls are closing in on me and I just want to throw open the windows and seriously declutter our lives!

Glad to hear you are all starting to feel better! This week is definitely flying by for me, too. Which I am not complaining about one bit, but I continue to be blown away at how fast my life just seems to pass by sometimes. I’m sure you can totally relate!

That looks like a fun Valentines Day, despite everyone feeling sick. Alex is too cute, I love his cheeks!!

Glad to hear you’re all on your way to recovery. I think (HOPE!) we are, too. My mom also baked cookies and brought Valentine’s gifts when she came to watch the boys yesterday, which was the extent of our Valentine’s celebrations. Hooray for grandmas! :)
