Double Date Night Deals

Last night was so much fun! Open-mouthed smile

Jay and I had a blast hanging out with Sarah and Jeff at dinner. They’re such great company, how could we not??

YAY for Double Date Night Celebrations! Open-mouthed smile

(yeah, I rocked the glasses and the extremely static-y hair yesterday…blah!)

Once we got to Wheatfields, we tried to snag a table in the bar area so we could get the “Happy Hour” specials, but it was pretty packed. Fortunately, the staff was extremely accommodating and said they would honor the deals for where we were. The four of us were very impressed with how friendly and helpful they were. Smile

So we started off with a round of drinks, which are “Two for One” from their 4-7 Happy Hour. Saweeeeet!

I ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio, which eventually turned into two once I got my “two-fur” later on in the evening. Winking smile

After sitting for probably 30 minutes without even looking at the menu, we figured it’d probably be a good idea to order some food…

Another phenomenal deal that Wheatfields offers during Happy Hour is $5.00 pizzas.

For Real.

No question there!

Sarah and I ordered the Blanco pizza to share, which has caramelized onions, ricotta, roasted garlic, goat cheese, and mozzarella.

It was awesome.

The boys both got their own pizzas to share. Jay ordered the Margherita pizza, which I traded him a piece of mine for. It was, once again, delicious.

Then to share with the table, we got an order of Bruschetta,

and their Sweet and Sour Calamari.

This calamari is fantastic. The sauce was actually almost a little too spicy for me (although that’s not saying much…). but the flavor really was incredible!

The four of us decided that we’re actually going to try to make this a bi-weekly event…especially after we saw how great the price was. Believe it or not, for 2-3 drinks per person, 3 pizzas, calamari, and bruschetta, our total bill only came to $51 and some change.

Seriously! Is that not a deal or what??? Open-mouthed smile

Now I’m about to head out the door to tackle this Friday, but I think I can handle it…

It’s pay day, it’s Coffee Friday, and it’s Comfy Cozy day!

*Let’s consider this my Fashion Friday post for today, shall we?* Winking smile

I really think I could get used to rockin’ this kind of attire to work everyday, wouldn’t you??

Question for the Morning:

What are YOU celebrating this Friday?? Smile

You Know That Feeling?

You know that feeling you get when you leave the house and you feel like there’s just something you’re either missing or forgetting?

Well I couldn’t seem to shake that feeling this morning after leaving the house for work. I kept racking my brain trying to figure out what the deal was, but everything seemed to be in check…until I opened up my bag to find that I forgot my breakfast at home. Confused smile

Ahhhhh, the horrors!

Luckily, I keep a few things stashed in my desk in case of emergencies so I made do with what I could find…

I had a few packets of instant oatmeal lying around, so I heated up a packet of Quaker Low-Sugar Apples & Cinnamon, which was surprisingly more enjoyable than the last time I remember having the instant variety.

Good thing I didn’t forget my coffee! Surprised smile

After the oatmeal, I broke into my cereal combo stash that I just-so-conveniently happened to bring in on Tuesday. I snacked on about half the bag throughout the morning.

Then finally around mid-morning, I had some cantaloupe that I had packed to go with lunch.

For having completely forgotten my breakfast, I’d say I made out alright! Smile

My leftover sweet potato bowl was so good on Tuesday that I just had to make a repeat for today.

Today’s bowl included everything from Tuesday, sans cauliflower, since I snacked on that yesterday.

And in place of the Greek yogurt dollop, I decided to add in about 1/3 cup low-fat cottage cheese, which brought this leftover bowl to a whole other level. It was so super creamy, that it made it feel a lot more indulgent than it really was.

Lunch concluded with some Oatmeal Raisin Chocolate Chunk Cookies which I brought in to share with some of my lunch buddies. I held off with just one…the day is young.

Immediately after lunch, I caught a chill (which happens quite often) so I sipped on a mug of this Indian Spiced Chai Tea while teaching my students about food chains and food webs. Smile

In case you guys didn’t already know, I almost always split what I pack for lunch into two “mini lunches.” I get my regular lunch at 1:00, so that’s when I’ll eat whatever the main item is that I pack. If I’m still hungry, I’ll dig into whatever else I brought, but normally I wait to eat my second mini snack until around 3:00.

This helps fend off the 4pm hunger cravings that almost always used to strike and cause me to ruin my dinner (or just eat way more than I needed!).

Today, those snacks included some more Kashi honey sesame crackers and a golden delicious apple.

Tonight, Jay and I are meeting up with our friends Sarah and Jeff for some dinner and drinks at Wheatfields Bistro & Wine Bar.

They said that they wanted the chance to celebrate our One Year Anniversary with us, and since they were such a HUGE part of our day (Sarah was my Maid of Honor who gave the most phenomenal speech), and I’m always up for extra celebrating, we made a date! Open-mouthed smile

See ya later gators!!
