Well Happy Friday to you all! Before we get to the subject of this post, I just have to go ahead and toot my own horn for a second. Remember last night how I said I really wasn’t sure whether or not I’d find the motivation to head down to the treadmill after dinner?
Well…I did it!
I told Jay that once 7pm rolled around, he had to make sure that I stayed committed to my plan, but I managed to get down there all on my own. I spent the 40 minutes doing a steady walk while reading through my book (only 2-3 more chapters left!) and I felt great for doing so…HOWEVER…
Almost immediately after I was finished, I was struck with a case of tight chestness (from my asthma), wicked heartburn (from dinner?), and a super stuffy nose. And then, sure as shit, it hit me like a ton of bricks. I am now sick. Full out stuffy/runny nose, sore throat, congested face, and all the like. I crawled into bed just after 9pm, hoping that I’d feel better this morning, but so far it’s not lookin’ good. Blech…I just hate being sick. Especially when I can’t really take much for it!
But hey, ya know what? I’m gonna try not to think about it and keep pushing through the day. Things could always be worse, right? Right. So now that I finished my whining, let’s go ahead with something much more fun. How about, to help us all get through our Friday a little easier, I go ahead and offer a fun little giveaway this morning? Yeah? Okay, awesome.
I recently became the lucky recipient of a wonderful goodie box filled with some of my favorite snack crispbreads, Wasa.
Included in the goodie box was multi grain, light rye,
whole grain,
and, my favorite, the crisp ‘n light Wasa crispbreads.
Now if you’ve been reading STSL for any amount of time, then you probably already know that I’ve been a fan of these crispbreads for quite some time (as has my girl, Alyssa)…
They’re amazing for sampler platters.
Counter-clockwise, starting to top left:
- Cucumber hummus, and basil
- The Laughing Cow and fruit salsa
- Fresh mozzarella, tomato slices, and basil
- Peanut butter, nectarine slices, and chia seeds
They’re delicious when topped with chocolate PB2.
Or packed up as a snack with a wedge of The Laughing Cow cheese.
Again, going with the same pattern, they continue to be delicious with The Laughing Cow Light Swiss Cheese and sliced strawberries (perfect savory and sweet combo).
And quite possibly one of my favorite snacks is a Wasa cracker topped with raspberry jam, eggs, and cheese.
That is a seriously epic snack right there. No joke.
So today, Wasa is offering to give away some Wasa crackers AND a $25.00 Visa gift card to a lucky STSL reader!
To Enter: Leave a comment on this post sharing some of your favorite (or would be favorite, if you’ve never tried them) recipe ideas to create with Wasa crackers.
I’ll choose a random winner on Monday, January 7th. Good Luck!
And if you think of it, send some good vibes my way to help me shake this cold sooner than later. ;) xoxo

Good luck with the cold! Being pregnant, your body’s immune system is lax. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but “stuffiness” and excess mucus in your nose is probably going to be a FT Resident from here on out (bloody noses too, yuck). I’ve been stuffy from about 12-14 weeks along. Doc says its normal (your body trying to block germs from getting in). Apparently sudafed, tylenol and benadryl are ok for head congestion. I’ve tried to not take anything, but there were a few nights where I just couldn’t breathe so I took a benadryl at bedtime.

Love Wasa! A yummy snack for me is Laughing Cow light cheese, Turkey, and a little Avocado

I’d just love to eat them as a snack with spreadable brie and jelly or with some peanut butter!

I hope you feel better soon! It’s no fun being sick :-/. I love the idea of a healthy dessert made with wasa crispbreads! Something that I think sounds delicious is laughing cow strawberry cream cheese on top of a whole grain wasa crisp and topped with fresh berries. Yum!

I also have a nasty cold. Feel better soon. I’d love to eat any of these flavours with some cream cheese, sliced tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Mmmmm!

I love the Wasa crackers so much! I usually have them with sunflower seed butter and apple slices.
