Our reception was one heck of a BIG PARTY!
The dance floor was packed the entire night, thanks to our DJ, Greg Frasier.

The Speeches
I may be a little biased, but our speeches were by far two of the best that I’ve ever heard. My maid of honor, Sarah, delivered the most amazing, heart-felt speech that brought both Jay and I to tears and had as laughing at the same time.
Jay’s best man Joey, on the other hand, had us laughing our faces off the entire time. Especially at the end of his speech. If you want to see what had us laughing so hard, you can watch some of our wedding video by clicking here.
Cheers!
Cutting the Cake
Jay and I had the most delicious cake made for us by Amy Mears from Sweet Expressions. Amy was so easy to work with, and delivered a wedding cake that was well beyond our expectations. The four-layer cake was adorned with a variety of different sized snowflakes and a coordinating eggplant-colored ribbon.
The cake that you see pictured above was partially a “faux” cake; there was only one layer that was real cake (the second from the bottom) which we cut into, and the rest were actually Styrofoam.
We then had four different cake flavor combinations that were served to our guests at a Cake Carving station. This way, all of the guests were guaranteed to get a flavor cake that they would enjoy, rather than just being served a random piece (because if you’re anything like me, there’s nothing worse than getting served the chocolate when you really want the vanilla that’s at the next table over!)
The four cake combinations that we chose:
- Sour cream white cake with raspberry filling and ivory buttercream frosting
- Golden yellow cake with caramel mousse filling and ivory buttercream frosting
- Pumpkin spice cake with cream cheese frosting and filling
- Kahlua fudge cake with Oreo mousse filling and chocolate buttercream frosting
Father-Daughter Dance: “Wind Beneath My Wings” by Bette Midler
I told my dad that he could choose the song that we danced to, and I think he probably succeeded in picking the #1 song that would make me ball my eyes out. I was a blubbering mess while I danced with my dad, but it was well worth it.
This song had special meaning for us, and once my dad explained why he chose it, there was no way I could say no. Good thing for waterproof mascara, right ladies?
Bouquet & Garter Toss
Bouquet Toss Song: “Single Ladies” by Beyonce
Garter Grab & Toss Song: “Mission Impossible Theme Song”
We’re such hams, aren’t we?
And this picture is probably one of my favorites from the entire night.
