A day late is better than nothing, right? Well, the GOOD news is that we finally have cable and internet at the house – WOO HOO! The bad news (although, not really, I suppose) is that the majority of my evenings the past two nights have been devoted to one thing only…
Painting. And lots of it…so I’m a little behind on the blogging front! We finally decided on a color of the living room and kitchen (Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray), and after doing a first coat on Saturday night (aka, finishing up at 1:30 in the morning…ooof)…
we’re now on our way to do our second, after seeing just how many spots we missed the first go around. Note to self: keep the painting well before midnight!
So I’m sitting down quick on Sunday evening to type this up, and then I’m headed back to my roller. I’ll fill you guys in on the rest of our weekend soon, but for now, I’ll leave you with a little recap of our meal plan from this past week! We’re still working on getting things settled in, but for the most part, we were able to pull together some yummy meals. Here’s a look!
Sunday: Frozen pizza (California Pizza Kitchen Sicilian – so good!) + green beans
Monday: I honestly can’t even remember?! I want to say it was a chef salad, but I have no pictures to confirm. ;) Instead, I’ll tell you that I could go for just about anything from this old meal plan post, OR this one. So much yum.
Tuesday: Healthy Baked Chicken Parmesan Tenders with brown rice and zoodles (hoorayyyy, I’d missed my spiralizer!)
Wednesday: Open-faced cheeseburgers (made the same way as THESE amazing things, minus the bacon and bread…because we were out of both) with homemade sweet potato fries
Thursday: Brinner! Power Cakes + 2 scrambled eggs
Friday: Out to dinner with my in-laws (I didn’t snap any pics of dinner, but if you’re curious what I got, it’s the same exact thing from this super old post – it’s so good!). And while I didn’t snap any pics of dinner, I did manage to capture dessert…
Homemade cookies and cream AND cookie dough ice cream from Mac’s Drive-In. Ohhhhmygoddddddsogood.
I thought it would be fun to do a little comparison shot, since the last time we were there was almost exactly a year ago (for my MIL’s birthday!)…
My big boy <3 <3
Saturday: Leftovers from Friday night’s dinner, with a little extra mozz cheese added on top, for good measure of course.
So there you have it – our first week of meals in the new house.
I’m hoping to check back in with you all either later today or tomorrow, and I’ll fill ya in on the rest of the weekend. But for now, I’m back to painting, so I hope you all have a great week ahead! <3

Painting is the worst so hang in there! I always keep on eye on Groupon/Living Social for house painters and things like that just in case they pop up.

I had pizza and salad last night! Tonight I need to bake chicken for the week!

Brinner is the best! Growing up we were pretty poor, and mom started doing ‘wacky wednesdays’ which was breakfast for dinner. It was an attempt to save money on her part, but my brother and I just thought it was the coolest idea ever!

I really like the color – it looks great with your couch. I think it’s inevitable to miss spots on the first coat when you’re painting, no matter how careful you are.

Hi Courtney! Oh man… painting. That’s one thing I never get jealous of people doing. Here’s hoping it goes by quickly and you are moving on to much better projects soon. Loving the new digs!

That little ice cream truck is the cutest! They should so sell those–my daughter would love it!
Ashley @ My Food 'N' Fitness Diaries says
Good luck with the painting! That’s never a job I love to do, but it sure makes a huge difference so it’s always worth it in my opinion.
Your shot of your leftovers looks so good!

I think we have the same oven and microwave or close to it. Good pick!
