Well hey there, and happy Monday to all of you! How was the weekend?
Ours was busy, that’s for sure. We were out and about quite a bit, and also spent some time visiting with my parents and my in-laws which was nice (the grandparents always eat up extra time with Lucas!). But I’ve also gotta tell you about a running joke that wound up being quite amusing.
I had a text going, starting Friday night, with some of my girlfriends, and we started talking about the shamrock shake from McDonald’s. I hadn’t had one before, so I didn’t have much to say about it, but Sarah and Kanika love them and decided they needed to go get them, and Christina hates them. I got talking with Jay about it on Saturday, and we decided to hit up a Mickey D’s to give one a try.
The outcome? I was a major fan…
As was Jay…
And Lucas totally loved it, too. Like, cried when we took it away from him, loved it.
Photos started getting sent back and forth between us all and before we knew it, there were quite a few shamrock shakes going around the group. We got quite a kick out of it.
And before anyone goes telling me how “bad” the shamrock shakes are…yes, I know. They have, like, a bajillion weird ingredients or something? Well, hey…I say, sometimes you just gotta live a little, right? The thing was delicious.
Besides that, (you know, when I wasn’t taking selfies with shamrock shakes), I really didn’t wind up taking too many other photos.
We had a delicious lunch at my in-laws with homemade chicken salad and macaroni salad on Saturday.
I had a great workout on Sunday morning, sporting my new Norwalk tank from Fabletics. Isn’t it adorable?
It was one of the new items in their March collection, and I’m totally in love with it.
On Sunday, we spent some time hanging out at my parents’ house, who also happened to be dog sitting for my brother, so we got to hang out with “little” Binx, too.
He’s getting so big, so quick!
As for Sunday night, we kept it easy with some of our favorite takeout salads and a little wine once the little guy was in bed.
And now, I’m going to finish this post up pretty quickly, as it’s Sunday night and we’re watching Secrets & Lies…PLEASE tell me you guys are watching this show? We. Are. Obsessed. Sooo good!
OH, but before I forget…the winner of the EB Eggs giveaway! Congrats to Entry #37: Lauren S.! Lauren, be sure to email me at sweettoothcourtney at gmail dot com with your shipping info so we can send you your goodies.
Ok, time to get back to my show and some dark chocolate m&m’s…I’ll catch you guys tomorrow!
Teresa says
Next time you try a shake, get 1/2 shamrock 1/2 chocolate. It tastes like a thin mint cookie!
Jenni says
Yes, you’ve got to try one of those! We call them Leprechaun shakes around here.
Stacie @ SimplySouthernStacie says
I think I found my “something green” to eat on Tuesday!
Linz @ Itz Linz says
haha i haven’t tried the shamrock shake either – maybe now i’ll just have to! lol
Britt@MyOwnBalance says
Your Fabletics top is so cute! I’ve never had a shamrock shake but I agree you have to live a little!
Brynn says
We had the same Sunday night; low key with our favorite take out (I went with a greek salad), wine and DRV. I keep hearing about Secrets and Lies and think I better get on board!
Taca @ A Side Of Dessert says
I’ve never had a Shamrock shake but it looks like I might have to! I’ve heard so much about Secrets and Lies that I might have to start watching it myself!
Catherine E Culligan says
My husband & I discovered Secrets & Lies last week and watched all 3 episodes in one night and we were depressed when we were up-to-date with the episodes and we had to wait a week until the next episode. It’s on pretty late where we live so we pvred it to watch tonight – can’t wait!! Glad we’re not the only ones obsessed with it :)
Jessica @ kiwiyogirunner says
We don’t have those shamrock shakes down under, I am intrigued to try one now! I am half Irish as well so it would be highly appropriate ;) I had a salad at Dairy Queen when I was in Canada recently and it was surprisingly good! :)
Jen says
OMG…love, love, love Secrets and Lies!!!!!!
Brttany says
Courtney! What kind of heaband do you use while you are working out? Every type I have tried slides around way too much! Thank you!
Courtney says
I’m pretty sure they’re Goodie brand? I get the ones that have the grippy things on them so they stay put – you can pick them up pretty much anywhere!
Kerry says
Need to try fabletics looks so good :) x
Marielle says
Oooh I’ve heard of Secrets and Lie’s, I may have to check it out! ;)
Patty says
I wish McDonald’s would go back to the old shamrock shakes. When they changed to the McCafe they changed up the recipe and they just aren’t as good any more.
Courtney says
Oh really?? That’s interesting…I wonder why they changed??
Ellen @ My Uncommon Everyday says
Oooh I had my first shamrock shake just a couple of years ago, but I haven’t had one this season! I need to get on that before they’re gone ;)
Ashley @ My Food N Fitness Diaries says
Totally gotta try one of those shamrock shakes! I intend to every year and then forgot. This year, it’s happening! Love all the selfies of everyone with their shakes – too funny!
Julia @ LordStillLovesMe says
That picture of Lucas with the shake is so so so sweet… I cannot handle it!
Ashley @ A Lady Goes West says
I’m a BIG fan of the Shamrock Shake, and I haven’t had one in a couple years. I need to change that! And who cares what is in it. It’s darn good.
Alison @ Anchor in the Stratosphere says
I love them too!! So refreshing to hear you say just have fun and eat them once in a while. I hate being lectured by people about food all the time. I life without milkshakes is not a world I want. ;)
Courtney says
I’m with you!
tiff @ love, sweat, & beers says
I *almost* gave in and got some Fabletics stuff in January, but I guess it’s a good thing I didn’t since I’m now in maternity gear. Perhaps I’ll get some after baby #2 to inspire some workouts!
Nikki says
i have never tried a Shamrock Shake before! I might have to get one this week! It looks delish!!!
Karen T. says
Yes, shamrock shakes are delish and you should definitely live a little! But… if you were a little curious about the ingredients… ;)

I’ve never had that shake, but now I’m intrigued!
I love Fabletics–I have a few norwalk tanks in different colors & they’re such a great top!
Sarah says
I know I’m late to post but I love the Shamrock Shake selfie! How cute! I have never had one either but I may have to give it a shot based on your recommendation.
Heather @ Life In Leggings says
That Fabletics top is adorable. You have a treadmill??? I NEED ONE living in Michigan. Also, that Shamrock shake is pretty freaking amazing. <3
Sam @ Better With Sprinkles says
I’ve never had a Shamrock Shake! I’ve always heard that they’re good, I’ve just never gotten around to trying them. Maybe this will be the year? I might have to go sometime next week and try to pick one up. Like you said – sometimes you just need to live a little ;-)
