Well I must say…a couple of extra days with family this weekend was just what I needed. Heck, what we all needed! These guys, too.
Jay also took Friday off from work, so we all enjoyed a really nice, long holiday weekend. Friday and Saturday were both spent at home and weren’t anything exciting. In fact, I’m fairly certain that the days were probably spent trying to manage the active toddler and the crying newborn (since that’s life these days!).
Sunday was a beautiful day that was spent up at Saratoga Lake. I was really anxious about making the trip up with the boys, but all in all, the day out was successful.
And on top of that, we got extra time with some of our favorite people, including Brian and Mal!
And Lucas had a total blast playing outside and in the lake with his Mamite.
There was plenty of delicious food to go around…
And I even got the chance to enjoy my first full beer. CHEERS to that!
On Monday, we enjoyed the morning at home before heading over to my parents’ house for an afternoon at the pool.
Mannnn, I can’t wait until I can finally get IN the pool! But for now, I’ll just sit around and eat all the good snacks.
And watch this guy have all sorts of fun. <3
In other news, we introduced a bottle to Alex for the first time this weekend and it was a success! So, needless to say, it felt nice to know that bottles are now an option (even if it does mean extra pumping for me), and I think we may try to continue doing one bottle a day.
P.S. – If this post is starting to sound a bit all over the place or not making sense, forgive me. I’m currently watching Orange is the New Black and, well, it’s getting the majority of my attention because WOW this season is awesome.
But anywho…back to yesterday. We ended the day with another delicious dinner, courtesy of my mama.
Which Alex sat and supervised.
And then we finished up with a yummy, festive dessert of angel food cake, jello, strawberries, and cool whip. One of my favorites!
And there’s our weekend, in a nutshell!
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend – anyone do anything fun and exciting?!
