I’ve been asked a couple of times recently if I’m still planning on posting my workouts here on the blog.
While there was certainly a time wayyyy back in the day where my workouts were a regular occurrence on here, things have changed quite a bit since then. There are so many other blogs out there that post workouts, and they do it well. So I’ve realized that it’s just not really my ‘thing’ anymore, and that’s cool!
Even though I’m not always talking about it, fitness will always be a priority of mine. I just feel all around better when I keep active! But even though it’s still a priority, it has definitely slipped a few spots on the list.
And that’s okay! These days, I aim to get 4 workouts in per week, which are usually no more than 40 minutes long. Sometimes I hit that goal, sometimes I don’t. I’m sure things will get easier as Alex gets older and has a more predictable schedule, because I will forever and always be an early morning workout kinda gal. But since I never know what kind of sleep I’m going to get these days, I’m not even attempting the 5:30am alarm for a workout…I’m lucky if I can get up to an alarm without snoozing for an hour as it is right now!
So even though workouts aren’t at the top of my priority list right now, I still try to do what I can, when I can, with what I have. And since I don’t have any gym memberships or anything like that, you guys know I love doing my workouts at home. I’ve been doing a few of the Beachbody workouts I have (even though coaching wasn’t my thing), but I’ve also recently found a few different workout videos on YouTube that have been great, so I wanted to share them with you guys.
30-Minute Fat-Blasting Workout via Class FitSugar
This one leaves a killerrrrr booty burn!
A Total-Body Bootcamp to Tighten and Tone via Class FitSugar
This was a fun one that left more more sore than I expected the next day!
The 35 Minute Cardio Strength Step Circuit via Jessica Smith TV
I first shared my love for Jessica Smith TV workouts back when I was pregnant in my second trimester (<—that’s a GREAT list of workout videos, FYI!) but just recently discovered this workout. It works up quite a sweat!
30-Minute Strength Training for Women via Jessica Smith TV
This workout is awesome because she really encourages you to lift heavy. I have about 18lb dumbbells (they’re Jay’s and they’re ones that have removable plates so I think that’s about what the total weight is) that I use for some of the moves in this workout
Superset Sculpt – 40 Minute Strength Training Fat Burning via Jessica Smith TV
This is another one that really focuses on strength training, which is my absolute favorite. Give me a workout with weights over cardio ANY day!

So there’s a look at some of the workouts I’ve been doing lately! What about you guys? What workouts are YOU loving?!
Love all these ! Since going back to work I’ve been doing the 530 30 mins basement workout instead of my usual 60 min body pump at the gym type workout …mama just doesn’t have the time . I love Fitness blender ! Free and can pick so many workouts and for a small cost even get a program to follow … they are an amazing duo and I’m always dying by the end of their workouts ! Now I can add a few more to my home workouts! Thank you !
I only have one child but I completely agree! Oh man is it rough getting up early when you’ve been up through the night! I honestly aim for 30 minute workouts and teach one 60 min class a week. I’ve found 30 minutes works for me and I have to make the most of it. There’s just too much other stuff going on !
30 minutes is my time for workouts as well. I’ve never tried Jessica’s workouts, but they look great!
I love jessica smith tv, which I found when you did that pregnancy workout round up! Thanks!
Thank you for this! I’ve been finding the motivation hard to get to the gym lately so I need these.
Kim
http://trendkeeper.me/ .. My FAVORITE oversized sweater!
I’m going to have to try a few of these out. Sometimes making it to the gym just doesn’t happen, so it’s great to have a few at home workout ideas ready to go for busy days.
Thanks for sharing these Courtney! I agree, having a little one makes fitting in a workout a lot more difficult! I’m thankful though for workout videos and running to keep my fitness up!
I do belong to a gym and take classes there or do my own cardio/weights workout, but lately I’ve been enjoying doing one at-home workout per week. I really like the Fitness Blender videos on YouTube. I’ll have to give some of these a try!
I am obsessed with fitnessblender.com. They have hundreds of free workout videos, and they are all amazing!!!
Thank you for sharing! Now that I don’t have a gym membership (and don’t live in a second floor apartment!) I use Youtube videos for workouts all the time. I love to see what other people are working out to. I have really been loving Yoga with Adriene lately!
The first two workouts you have listed are two of my favorites for a good burn! That second one is really killer with those mountain climbers. I’ll have to check the others out!
thank you for the burns! I am always on the lookout for 30 minute exercises that work, have to say they all look pretty ouch
I love your fitness video suggestions!! Last time you did one I found a bunch I still have in rotation (Jessica’s kickboxing workout is one of my favorites!!). GymRa is so awesome too…they have a ton of free ones on youtube and a lot are like 20 minutes and hurt so good :)
If you ever just want to let loose and be silly while working up a sweat you MUST try the Fitness Marshall!! Caleb’s commentary alone makes it worth it. I use them for warm ups a lot and they are also a great way to get in more steps. His ‘routine’ to Britney’s “Circus”, Fat Joe’s “All the Way Up” and Raven’s “Hit the Gas” are my absolute favorites!!
I have been reading STSL for years now – probably since 2011 or 2012 – and I’ve truly enjoyed following along as your life has changed. This comment has nothing to do with your fitness posts; I just want to thank you for writing this post even though it’s not sponsored. With two kiddos, I know how busy you are and understand your need for writing sponsored content and sprinkling them in as much as you can, while still including organic posts. When I saw the title of this post I thought it was probably sponsored and going to be about some online video service, but I was pleasantly surprised when I read to the bottom and saw that it wasn’t. I just wanted to say that I think it’s awesome that you’re able to keep the blog going when you have all these other commitments, and still get some unsponsored content up here too. :)
Thanks Chelsea! :)
Thanks so much for putting these together. I was really in need of some fitness inspiration this week!
