^^^When you just can’t think of a good post title… ; )
Well we are coming off of another nice little weekend that, of course, went by way too fast!
We enjoyed a visit from my parents and my MIL all on Saturday, followed by a fun get-together with the neighborhood crew late Saturday afternoon.
Have I mentioned how much we love our neighbors??? Man, I cannot wait for the weather to warm up a bit more so we can all get outside more often!
But for now, we’ll all just hang indoors and let the kids tear apart whoever’s home we’re invading (because with 9 kids under 5, that’s what’s going to happen!). Or, you know, they’ll just declare “ny night” and make themselves right at home.
As for Sunday, I started out the morning nice and early with this 40 minute Total Body HIIT workout from Shelly Dose (gahhh, she’s so good). Lately, I’ve been trying to get at least one good workout in on the weekends, and although I’d love to sleep in a bit more, it always just works out SO much better to get up early and just get it DONE, you know?
And, actually, now that we’re on the topic of workouts…I wanted to thank those of you who recommended Fitness Blender! I’ve been trying out some of their workouts here and there lately, and I’ve found a few that I really enjoy…
- Upper Body Superset Workout with Fat Burning Cardio Intervals – Arm, Chest, Back & Shoulder Workout
- Brutal Fat Burning Cardio HIIT + Dynamic Total Body Strength Training
- Total Body Strength Training with Dumbbells – Challenging Dynamic Superset Workout

Shortly after getting showered and ready for the day, we got a nice, early visit from Uncle Dan!
Lucas and Alex love their “DooDee” so they got to have some fun and served up plenty of ice cream cones and hot dogs from their food truck.
FYI: We recently got the boys this Little Tykes Food Truck because I’d been on the lookout for something that was 1) not a game, 2) not a car/truck, and 3) something interactive and a way for them to play together. So far, it’s a hit and I would highly recommend it!
Later Sunday morning, Lucas and I headed off to a birthday party for one of his buddies, which he absolutely loved.
Any time this kid can run around or get his hands on a game of skee-ball, he’s a happy camper.
By the time we got home, Alex was already down for his nap, so I decided to let Lucas and daddy have some fun while I got to work on a little project we’ve been trying to finish up.
My parents got us this wooden growth chart stick a while ago, and we’ve finally gotten around to finishing it. Jay stained it, and I’m now working on filling in all of the notched grooves with white paint.
I’ll be honest, it’s taking a lot longer than I expected, but it was quite nice to be able to be down in the work room with just me and some Pandora in the background.
The rest of our Sunday was pretty chill at home, and now here we are, back to another week. Hope everyone is having a good one so far!
