Alex Turns 3!

By Courtney 5 Comments

Today is this cool guy’s birthday!!

I still can hardly believe it, but our sweet Alex is officially THREE, and we kicked off the birthday festivities yesterday with some of his best buddies. For the third year in a row (his first birthday, and second birthday), the weather, honestly, could not have been better and all of the kids had a blast playing with the various pools and water toys.

Jay actually went out yesterday and picked up this triple lane water slide and the kids loved it!

After some time in the water, we corralled the kids up and had some fun tie dying t-shirts.

I had been trying to think of something that could double as both an activity AND a party favor, without it having to be a goody bag filled with stuff that inevitably winds up all over the house. And this definitely fit the bill!

I found this tie dye kit for cheap at Walmart (I was even able to add it right on to my grocery pickup order!), and ordered a couple packs of white t-shirts off of Amazon in different sizes for the kids. And thanks to a little help from our fellow mom and dad friends, everyone was able to leave with a fun new shirt!

Just an important note in case you decide to give it a go…DON’T forget to put the plastic gloves on before you start diving in to the dye! Ugh.

Shortly after we finished making a mess, the pizza arrived so everyone had their dinner, and then it was time for what Alex had been waiting all day for…

Cake and ice cream! And seriously, how cute is this cake??

I used to go and spend way too much money on “fancy” cakes, but Hannaford cakes are seriously the BEST. Not only do they taste amazing, and are well priced, but this is what we got when all I said was I wanted a dinosaur cake.

He absolutely loved it!!

We opened up some presents and then the kids played some more until it was time for everyone to head home for bed.

It truly was a great day, and this kiddo is so very lucky to have such awesome neighbors and cousins (as are we!).

Wishing the happiest of birthdays to my sweet, funny, stubborn little man. I cannot wait to see what this year holds! <3
