So we had quite a delicious, mini-spread of appetizers over here last night.
And they all came courtesy of this fantastic, new-to-me, sure to be a new favorite cookbook, Martha Stewart Appetizers.
The book boasts more than 200 recipes for tasty pre-dinner bites, substantial small plates, special-occasion finger foods, and quick snacks to enjoy with drinks. While some are a little more intricate than I might attempt for your everyday gathering, Jay and I had fun looking through and finding a few fun and easy appetizers to make for yesterday’s big game.
I’ve always been a huge fan of pigs in blankets, and this recipe kept it nice and simple, but with a fun twist: homemade honey mustard on the inside of puff pastry.
I halved the recipe, just so we wouldn’t wind up with too many leftovers, but yum!!
Jay also attempted a stab at another recipe we picked out for Sausage and Cheddar Balls. They were fairly easy to put together, and Jay had no problem following the recipe.
And finally, we also slightly adapted the cookbook’s recipe for guacamole. We were missing a few key ingredients (whoops…forgot the lime and cilantro…and jalapeno), but we did follow the variation for adding in chopped tomatoes and feta cheese. Ohhhhh, it was SO good!!!
We wound up with plenty of leftovers (which is bound to happen when you’re really only feeding 2-ish people), but we already have quite a few other recipes bookmarked to try for the next time we have company over.
Now for some fun…do you guys want in on a copy of the Martha Stewart Appetizers cookbook?
Well good news, because I’ve got THREE copies to give away today!! To enter, just check out the Rafflecopter giveaway below! I’ll choose a winner on Friday, February 12th. Good luck!
Disclaimer: This is NOT a sponsored post, but I did receive a free copy of the cookbook from Tastebook, and was offered copies to give away to readers as well. I hope you enjoy!!

Mmm I hope one day, when I am a mother/wife, I can sometimes channel and then embody my own personal Martha Stewart so I can throw awesome parties. Sounds like a wonderful book, Courtney. :)
