A Great Day

By Courtney 43 Comments

Okay, so today is a seriously great day. Who cares that I get winded walking up the stairs (thank goodness I have an appointment scheduled with the asthma specialist tomorrow) and feel like my sinuses are about to explode. Today is a great day.

As I mentioned earlier, we had our 12 week prenatal appointment this morning and it was just incredible. Baby is looking “perfect” as both the doctor and ultrasound tech told us, and our due date has actually moved up two days from what we previously thought. So now, we’re looking at a big July 19th due date! The whole thing was just so surreal.

I’m going to post a few more details from the appointment (and most likely a couple of pics) on the Baby Tooth page later today or tomorrow. I’m going to post it there, rather than on the main page, since I know not everyone is into seeing ultraound pics of other babies and whatnot, which is totally understandable.

So the appointment actually lasted a lot longer than I expected (about an hour and a half) and by the time I finally made it into work, I had to quickly raid my snack drawer.

I grabbed a granola bar, which helped hold off the hunger for another hour or so while I caught up on a bunch of emails and stuff that were waiting for me (things here at work are really picking up fast, and I love it!).

A little after 1pm, I broke into the lunch that I packed for myself last night.

IMG_9446

I first had the yogurt bowl (vanilla Chobani, strawberries, blueberries, and the cereal bag) and orange. Man, I really do love oranges, but I hate just how messy they are! AND the fact that they leave your hands all white and weird looking after. You guys know what I’m talking about, right?

Around 3:30, I decided to finish up the rest of lunch, which consisted of a mini sweet potato topped with salsa and plain Chobani.

IMG_9447

I actually just ate this cold, and it was suuuuuper delicious. I’m so glad that I cooked up about 6 of these last night and still have the rest of them for the rest of the week. So simple! (Note to self for the rest of the week though: I need more food than this. The tummy is grumbin’ like crazy right now).

After work today, I have to make a quick pit stop at mom and dad’s house to pick up some food and pants (haha, odd combo, right?). Well last night, my mom invited us over for dinner, but since I was still feeling so crappy, I had to pass. Fortunately, she saved some extra goulash for me, so I’m going to pick that up to have for dinner tonight. She also has a bag of maternity pants that she managed to get from a few of her co-workers, so I’m hoping that some of them will fit!

How’s everyone else’s Monday going so far?? Hope your week is off to a great start!

Can't wait to see the scan pics! Are you going to find out the sex or leave it as a surprise? Love having sweet potatoes on hand, great with almond butter and banana on top!!! A little cinnamon too! Did you get the Maranatha yet?!? I'm loving blood oranges at the moment...I've taken to slicing off the skin, top and tail then down around the edges and slice up the orange, saves you hands and mess. Perfect for throwing in a cereal yoghurt bowl!

Hahaha that's so funny! I'm always picking up really random stuff at my parents' house too--pants, bras (they sell lingerie), dumplings...what haven't I picked up there?! :D Isn't it so nice to be so loved by our moms esp. during such a crucial time? And omgshhhh isn't the dr. visit so exciting? I loved it, except for the whole process of the ultrasound which ISN'T on the belly. You know what I'm talking about right? ;)

Your optimism is contagious! (Seriously, I can't spell...) I have some rockin' endorphins right now from just doing a 2 mile run, which I know is easy for a lot of bloggers, but I'm not exactly a strong runner....hoping for a 5k in February!
