Ohhhhh, I swear, I’m basically a brand new person after the past few days of gorgeous weather we’ve been having. The ability to get outside with the boys and just have fun is doing a world of difference for us over here!
But first, I’ll backtrack a bit to last Friday, where I was lucky enough to be able to enjoy a day off from work and join Lucas on his field trip to the planetarium with his preschool class.
The trip was really cute, and the kids got to enjoy a live demonstration/presentation, a video, a light show with the stars/constellations, and followed it all up with some snack and some crafts.
We had a full day on Friday, following up our field trip with a surprise visit to my dad’s work, grabbing a quick lunch at the mall, returning a jacket for a certain Lucas who is growing like a weed, and then a trip to the post office to mail out a ton of cards from the recent fundraiser I did with Usborne Books (so for those of you who ordered, hopefully you’ve received your boxes by now!). ; )
Oh, and then to top off a perfectly great day, we were gifted with surprise cookies from our fabulous neighbors.
Doesn’t get much better than that!
Saturday got off to a nice and early start since it was opening day for tball for Lucas.
Leading up to it, Lucas was definitely not all that excited about “being in a parade,” but once he was there and with his teammates, his mood immediately changed and he had an awesome time.
We are definitely looking forward to a fun (and amusing!) first season!
He actually had his first game later that afternoon, which went great, and he’s already said that he’s excited about his next game. I really do hope he decides to stick with it over the years, because I love the game (grew up playing softball myself and watching my brother play baseball on the same fields for years!).
Knowing that Sunday was supposed to be beautiful, I decided to get up a little early and get my workout done and out of the way. I started off with a (pretty intense!) lower body workout from Fitness Blender, followed up with this sprint interval workout.
I honestly forget where I came across this one, otherwise I would link to it! But despite the fact that it’s only 10 minutes, it was an AWESOME finisher for a lower body day.
Workout complete, I came upstairs to find the boys all straight chilin’ and enjoying a few morning cartoons.
And then I was treated to another amazing weekend breakfast, courtesy of Jay. Egg scramble + cheese + bacon in a wrap = quite possibly my new favorite breakfast sandwich. HOLY cow, it is SO good.
And then, the rest of our day was literally spent outdoors as much as possible.
We took out all the patio furniture for the deck, we played, we ran, and we even washed cars…including the kiddos!
Edited to add: apparently I forgot to add an ending to this post today! Good thing is that I really didn’t have much more to add, so I’ll just leave it at that! ; ) Hope you’re all having a great day/week!

Looks like you had a wonderful weekend, Courtney!! I love that Lucas’ preschool takes field trips! My nephew hasn’t even had one this year, which I was totally surprised. I was hoping I would be able to tag along for some of them but maybe next year. Lucas looks so cute in his tball shirt and hat! My nephew just had his first tball game yesterday and I admit I had tears in my eyes because of how fast time is going by! They grow up so fast! It’s so funny because from reading your posts, it sounds like your boys and my nephews have the same personalities! I swear they would get along great!! I hope you have a great day! Xoxo
