Getting Ready for Baby: Baby’s Journey Smart Sync Monitor Review

By Courtney 4 Comments

This post was sponsored by Baby’s Journey as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central. I received complimentary merchandise to facilitate my review.

As you all know by now, we have another little one on the way in less than two months.

How the heck did time fly by so fast?!?

I’ve slowly been working on getting things ready for baby boy’s room, including setting up the crib, re-purposing the original rug we bought for the office, hanging some curtains, and getting some pictures ready to hang.

I also recently went through a bunch of Lucas’s old clothes and started to sort them to wash and hang.

Because we’re having another boy, there really haven’t been too many things that we’ve needed (at least that I can think of?!). I got some new bedding (because I didn’t feel like re-using Lucas’s old brown set), and we’re already starting to stock up on diapers/wipes. I’m not sure if we’ll need more bottles or not, but I’d think the ones we have will still be fine?

One thing that we DID need, however, was another baby monitor. I’m not sure how other parents do it, but I’m not prepared to take one out of Lucas’s room just yet!

So I was really excited when I received the opportunity to try out the Baby’s Journey Smart Sync 5” Internet Viewable Touch Screen Video Monitor.

Baby’s Journey teamed up with AT&T to launch a new baby monitor line that not only allows you to monitor your baby, but it also allows you to track important activities and information about your baby’s health and wellness, too.

They’re available online and in-store at Babies “R” Us locations. For more information, you can CLICK HERE!

This monitor has some wonderful features to help care for a newborn, unlike anything our other monitor has. The touch screen display allows you to manage all of your settings such as screen brightness, date and time, wifi settings, alert settings, and more.

Then there’s the Log & Track function, which I find to be my favorite part of the monitor. When Lucas was a newborn, I think I had about 2-3 different apps I’d use on my phone to keep track of certain things like feedings, etc. But this monitor actually has all of that built in!

You can keep record of things like feedings…

Diaper changes…

Sleep patterns/naps…

And even any medicines your baby might be taking…

Not only that, but there’s also a Journal feature on the monitor, which allows you to keep track of/document any fun or interesting activities or milestones that you might not want to forget while in the moment (like, maybe your baby sat up for the first time?!).

And as you can see in the picture above, you actually have the ability to snap a picture from what displays on the screen, using the camera icon when in monitor view.

Even cooler? For those of us who like to share things either on social media or with friends/family, there’s even the option to sync up your social media accounts and share the pictures that way.

You can also sync your monitor automatically with the AT&T Smart Sync Mobile App, to allow you to track and watch everything from your phone, too!

I will note, however, that the one main downside to this monitor is the fact that you can’t move the camera from the touch screen monitor. The only way to move the camera is manually, which tilts up and down.

For a newborn, that isn’t really much of an issue since they’re not moving much anyway; but depending on where you have your camera set up, once the baby is able to move, it may be possible for them to move out of visibility.

Other than that, I think the monitor is great, and you can even check out a little video review I did, too!

The monitors are now available online and in-store at Babies “R” Us locations. For more information, visit http://bit.ly/ATTSmartSync. You can also check out Baby’s Journey on Facebook and Instagram!

Looks awesome! We just bought a second camera for our baby's room and switch between the two rooms on one monitor. For the bottles....make sure you throw out all your old nipples and buy new ones! Level 1/slow flow!

I think this video baby monitor is pretty great. The image quality is far better than most baby monitors available on the market. And it even comes with lots of features ... Thank for your indepth review.
