What an awesome weekend. Seriously! Fun with friends, BEAUTIFUL weather, happy kids…couldn’t beat it!
On Saturday morning, we all headed out right around Alex’s nap time to head over and (finally!) visit our friends Kanika and Shaheen and their new baby boy. He was born back in January, but thanks to busy schedules and my kids being sick for about 95% of the winter, this was the first chance we had to make it over to our old living quarters.
The adults had a great time, as we always do, but I think Lucas and Kaura had the most fun of all.
I absolutely love, love, loooooove that these two are such good pals.
I can only hope it will always stay that way <3
For our visit, I also brought over some brunch! My favorite egg bake plus a Cinnamon Bun French Toast Casserole.
Both are super easy and I actually whipped them up quickly the night before while chatting on the phone with Sarah. I should make ‘em more often!
The rest of Saturday was fairly uneventful, minus a trip to the grocery store with the little man.
Lucas spent some time with my parents Saturday afternoon, too, so Jay and I got to spend some 1-1 time with Alex, which doesn’t happen all that often #secondkiddosprobs.
Sunday was the most AMAZING day we’ve had in a long time, and I made it my goal to spend as much of it outside as possible…which we did!
We had fun on the swings…
We went for a walk…
Jay worked on our next project (installing a storm door for the front of the house)…
And we even made it to the playground with a bunch of our neighbors after everyone’s nap time was over!
Eight adults + 6 kiddos = a fun neighborhood bunch. <3
Once we got got home, Jay and I both cracked open an adult beverage and got to work on making dinner.
On the menu? Cheeseburgers (on the grill…AHHHH!) + sweet potato fries. Nice and easy.
The boys were both wiped after a busy day, so both of them were in bed and asleep by about 7:15pm. Now I’m just finishing up this post a little before 8pm and I’m about to go join Jay outside who is having a mini bonfire by himself. : )
I hope you all had a GREAT weekend! Do anything fun? Get out and enjoy the weather?

Ahhh I wish we had some sunshine in Portland! Looks like a fun weekend. A lack of one-on-one time with the second child is something that gives me anxiety as were planning on baby #2. But you gave me a great idea about having the older sibling spend some time by themselves with grandparents on a weekend day so that each kiddo gets their own special time with mom/dad/grandma/grandpa. So thanks for that (:
